This is a post-peer-review, pre-copyedit version of an article published in Revista Matemática Complutense. The final authenticated version is available online at : http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s13163-018-0278-1We introduce the category of locally C-Nash groups, basic examples of such groups are complex algebraic groups. We prove that the latter form a full subcategory. We also show that both, abelian locally Nash and abelian locally C-Nash groups, can be characterised via meromorphic maps admitting an algebraic addition theorem; we give an invariant of such groups associated to the groups of periods of a chart at the identity. Finally, we prove that the category of simply connected abelian locally C-Nash groups coincides with that of universal coverings of the abelian complex irreducible algebraic groups (a complex version of a result of Hrushovski and Pillay in Isr J Math 85(1–3):203–262, 1994; Conflu Math 3(4):577–585, 2011)Elías Baro and Margarita Otero are partially supported by Spanish MTM2014-55565-P and Grupos UCM 910444. Differentiating signals to make biological sense – a guide through databases for MS-based non-targeted metabolomics

Metabolite identification is one of the most challenging steps in metabolomics studies and reflects one of the greatest bottlenecks in the entire workflow. The success of this step determines the success of the entire research, therefore the quality at which annotations are given requires special attention. A variety of tools and resources are available to aid metabolite identification or annotation, offering different and often complementary functionalities. In preparation for this article, almost 50 databases were reviewed, from which 17 were selected for discussion, chosen for their on-line ESI-MS functionality. The general characteristics and functions of each database is discussed in turn, considering the advantages and limitations of each along with recommendations for optimal use of each tool, as derived from experiences encountered at the Centre for Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO) in Madrid. These databases were evaluated considering their utility in non-targeted metabolomics, including aspects such as ID assignment, structural assignment and interpretation of results

The selective exams for the achievement of a public function, also called oppositions, are an area in which we always find a very advanced study of Law. In preparing these exams, exercises such as repeating, training for a specific test, focus on dominating a condensed syllabus or specialize in a single subject produce great results, but are not usually implemented in University. It is also interesting to note that much of the success which produces the legal training of the applicants for the oppositions lies in the role assumed by teachers (more empathetic with different incentives and more supported on oral communication and individualized treatment than usual) and the degree of complicity and collaboration that occurs among opponents
