According to age, a 0.55% level of regular knowledge was obtained at 11 years, at 12 years a 0.55% level of good knowledge and 8.06% of regular level, at 13 years 2, 15% of good level and 12.37% of regular level, at 14 years 3.76% of good level and 17.2% of regular level, at 15 years 4.83% of good level and a 17.2% of regular level, at 16 years old 3.76% of good level and 18.81% of regular level, at 17 years old 5.37% of good level and 2.68% of level regular and finally with 18 years 2.15% of good level and 0.55% of regular level. Conclusion: The level of knowledge regarding oral health care in the secondary school students of the San Andrés school was regular in 76.34%, it was good for the male gender in 17.74% and fair for the gender female by 44.63. Regarding the ages, it was good for the 15, 16, 17 and 18 years old students.Tesi

On simultaneous parameter identification and state estimation for cascade state affine systems

    Get PDF
International audienceIn this paper, an adaptive observer is proposed to solve the problem of simultaneous parameter identification and state estimation for a class of cascade state affine systems. Sufficient conditions are given in order to guarantee the exponential convergence of the proposed observer. Furthermore, simulation results are given illustrating the performance of the proposed observer when it is applied in the synchronization and identification problem of Rossler's chaotic system

Teaching-Learning Anglophone Cultures at the University of Pedagogical Sciences of Holguín and at the ELC of Shantou University: A Comparative Study

    Get PDF
This paper presents a comparative study of the teaching-learning process of Anglophone cultures through the English as a foreign language programs of Shantou University, Guangdong, China, and Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas “José de la Luz y Caballero”, Holguín, Cuba. As criteria for the comparison, the authors have selected the objectives, teaching methods, and resources of the two institutions. The comparative analysis allowed for the determination of the main trends common to both universities: the teaching of language as a means to an end, the active participation of faculties in the elaboration of teaching materials and textbooks for the specific courses they teach, the validity of research work aimed at improving the teaching resources for the EFL courses offered at both universities, the use of the communicative approach as a general method for the teaching-learning process, and the development of co-curricular activities to enhance the teaching-learning of cultural elements. The analysis also allowed for a reflection on how the distinct departmental/institutional structures of the two schools may lead to some significant differences in terms of educational focus. Finally, the analysis provoked questions concerning the balance between culture teaching-learning and intercultural communication training

Delay and state observer for SISO LTI systems

International audienceThis paper deals with the problem of state and delay estimation for SISO LTI systems, with unknown time-varying delay in the input. Thanks to an adequate approximation of the delayed input by the Taylor’s theorem, an original approach based on observer design is proposed in order to estimate both state and delay. This new technique allows the estimation of time-varying delay. The convergence of the observer is formally proved. The efficiency of the method is widely illustrated by simulations

CYCLOIDAL GAIT WITH DOUBLE SUPPORT PHASE FOR THE NAO HUMANOID ROBOT

The commercial Nao humanoid robot has 11 DOF in legs. Even if these legs include 12 revolute joints, only 11 actuators are employed to control the walking of the robot. Under such conditions, the mobility of the pelvis and that of the oscillating foot are mutually constrained at each step. Besides, the original gait provided by the manufacturer company of the Nao employs only single support phases during the walking. Because of both issues, the reduced mobility in legs and the use of only single support phases, the stability of the walking is affected. To contribute to improving such stability, in this paper an approach is proposed that incorporates a double support phase and a gait based on cycloidal time functions for motions of the pelvis and those of the oscillating foot. To assess the stability of the walking an index is applied, which is based on the notion of zero-moment point (ZMP) of the static foot at each step. Results of experimental tests show that the proposed gait enhances the stability of the robot during the walking
