Engaging the Religiously Committed Other: Anthropologists and Theologians in Dialogue

Anthropology has two tasks: the scientific task of studying human beings and the instrumental task of promoting human flourishing. To date, the scientific task has been constrained by secularism, and the instrumental task by the philosophy and values of liberalism. These constraints have caused religiously based scholarship to be excluded from anthropology’s discourse, to the detriment of both tasks. The call for papers for the 2009 meetings of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) recognized the need to “push the field’s epistemological and presentational conventions” in order to reach anthropology’s various publics. Religious thought has much to say about the human condition. It can expand the discourse in ways that provide explanatory value as well as moral purpose and hope.We propose an epistemology of witness for dialogue between anthropologists and theologians, and we demonstrate the value added with an example: the problem of violence

Uso de penicilina Benzatínica 600,000UI, en pacientes pediátricos de 3 a 6 años de edad, diagnosticados con infecciones del tracto respiratorio superior, centro de salud "Monimbo" de Masaya, Enero a Diciembre del 2013

El presente trabajo consiste en un Estudio de Utilización de Medicamentos, el cual se clasifica como indicación– prescripción, ya que se seleccionaron las infecciones respiratorias superiores como indicación clínica y luego se analizó el uso de Penicilina Benzatínica a 600,000 UI en 284 pacientes pediátricos 3 a 6 años de edad, atendidos en el centro de salud Monimbó de la ciudad de Masaya, en el período de Enero a Diciembre del 2013. Hasta el momento no se han encontrados Estudios de Utilización de Medicamentos tipo Indicación - Prescripción referidos al uso de Penicilina Benzatínica a 600,000 UI en el centro de salud Monimbó de la ciudad de Masaya. El planteamiento del problema, obedece al uso de la Penicilina Benzatínica de 600,000 UI en pacientes pediátricos de 3 a 6 años de edad, en el centro de salud Monimbó, para evaluar si la prescripción se ajusta a la normativa vigente del ministerio de salud. El estudio pretende también, evaluar las pautas terapéuticas contenidas en la norma vigente al ser aplicadas en los pacientes que recibieron el medicamento antes referido en el centro de salud Monimbó, por lo que se recurrió a un diseño metodológico cualicuantitativo, bajo el formato de los Estudio de Utilización de Medicamentos. Los resultados se basan en el registro de pacientes con edades entre los 3 a 6 años, de los cuales el 68.3% eran del sexo masculino, pertenecientes al barrio Magdalena y la Comarca “La Poma”. Las patologías asociadas al uso de Penicilina Benzatínica 600,000 UI, fueron: la faringoamigdalitis indicada a un 56% de los pacientes estudiados, amigdalitis indicada a un 42% y otras patologías con 2% de los pacientes. La media del peso encontrado en estos pacientes fue de 16.5 kg. Y la frecuencia de administración en todos los casos fue del modo “Stat”o inmediata. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos, en el centro de salud Monimbó, el uso de la Penicilina Benzatínica 600,00 UI, se realiza conforme la normativa del ministerio de salu

El reingrés dels estudiants al sistema universitari públic català

Aquest estudi, desenvolupat a partir d'informació d'estudiants universitaris catalans, ha detectat diversos perfils d'alumnes que abandonen els estudis i hi tornen més endavant. Els resultats apunten, entre altres, a la necessitat d'establir plans per a la transició a la universitat, l'acollida i l'acompanyament dels estudiants universitaris per evitar l'abandonament i el posterior canvi d'estudis. Cal, doncs, millorar el sistema d'orientació i accés a la universitat per tal de millorar el rendiment dels estudiants i la qualitat del sistema universitari.Este estudio, desarrollado a partir de información de estudiantes universitarios catalanes, ha detectado diversos perfiles de alumnos que abandonan los estudios y más adelante vuelven a matricularse. Los resultados apuntan, entre otras, a la necesidad de establecer planes para la transición a la universidad, la acogida y el acompañamiento de los estudiantes universitarios para evitar el abandono y el posterior cambio de estudios. Se debe, pues, mejorar el sistema de orientación y acceso a la universidad para mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes y la calidad del sistema universitario.This study based on information from Catalan university students has found several profiles of students who drop out of university and later return. The results suggest, among other things, the need to establish plans for the transition to college, and the reception and support of university students to avoid the abandonment and subsequent change of studies. It is therefore necessary to improve the system of guidance and access to the university to improve student performance and the quality of the university system

Educational and innovation university experience with word clouds

En la Universidad, las posibilidades de interacción que permiten las nuevas tecnologías asociadas a la web 2.0, están rompiendo la relación tradicional de espacio y tiempo y, a la vez, haciendo que la enseñanza superior converja hacia sistemas de formación que facilitan la puesta en práctica de un modelo didáctico socio-constructivista e investigador. Este artículo describe una experiencia universitaria de innovación desarrollada en esta línea, donde la utilización de algunos de estos recursos permite crear un entorno de aprendizaje virtual en el que se estimula el papel activo del estudiante. En particular, la experiencia abunda en la explotación de algunas de las posibilidades de herramientas generadoras de Word clouds. Entre los objetivos de la práctica destacan, entre otros: favorecer el papel activo del futuro profesional de la educación, explorar fuentes electrónicas de información sobre las funciones del educador, fomentar el andamiaje cognitivo, reflexivo y creativo en red y estimular el desarrollo de habilidades cognitivas complejas.At the University, the interactive possibilities that the new technologies related to the 2.0 web offer, are breaking the traditional space and time relationship and, at the same time, forcing the higher education to converge towards training systems that facilitate putting into practice a socio-constructivist and researching learning method. This paper describes a college experience on innovation developed into this idea, where using some of these resources allows to create a virtual learning environment where the active role of the student is stimulated. In particular, the experience goes into great detail on the exploitation of some of the tools that generate the Word clouds. Among the objectives of the practice the following are emphasized: promote the active role of the professional future of education, explore information electronic resources about the educator functions, promote the networked cognitive, reflexive and creative scaffolding, and stimulate the development of complex cognitive habilities

The effect of wine tourism experiences on wine brands

Wine tourism takes on a clear hedonic dimension, being especially prone to the design of experiences. The characteristics of wine tourism make this product quite compatible with the rural areas and with an evident capacity of sustainable development. Most of the studies that characterize the wine tourism experiences have a clear focus on the demand side. This paper aims at obtaining a greater insight into the leverage of the wine brands through positive experiences associated with wine tourism. Sustained on the Grounded Theory, a deep analysis of the perception that the cellars/farms have about the effect of their touristic offer on their wine brands was carried out. While there is no use of concrete measures on the supply-side, we found that there is the conviction of a reciprocal leverage effect between wine tourism experiences and wine brands. Despite the exploratory nature of this paper we conclude that wine experiences and brand value and awareness reinforce which other in an interactive and dynamic way.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The initial boundary value problem for free-evolution formulations of General Relativity

We consider the initial boundary value problem for free-evolution formulations of general relativity coupled to a parametrized family of coordinate conditions that includes both the moving puncture and harmonic gauges. We concentrate primarily on boundaries that are geometrically determined by the outermost normal observer to spacelike slices of the foliation. We present high-order-derivative boundary conditions for the gauge, constraint violating and gravitational wave degrees of freedom of the formulation. Second order derivative boundary conditions are presented in terms of the conformal variables used in numerical relativity simulations. Using Kreiss-Agranovich-Métivier theory we demonstrate, in the frozen coefficient approximation, that with sufficiently high order derivative boundary conditions the initial boundary value problem can be rendered boundary stable. The precise number of derivatives required depends on the gauge. For a choice of the gauge condition that renders the system strongly hyperbolic of constant multiplicity, well-posedness of the initial boundary value problem follows in this approximation. Taking into account the theory of pseudo-differential operators, it is expected that the nonlinear problem is also well-posed locally in time

Propuesta de optimización de sistemas térmicos para Agua Caliente Sanitaria (A.C.S), bajo aspectos de eficiencia energética y ahorro en el Hotel Selva Negra, Matagalpa 2016

Se propone optimizar los sistemas térmicos mediante medidas y cálculos de eficiencia energética y de viabilidad económica, además el proyecto de la instalación de un sistema de recuperación de calor, el cual según los cálculos teóricos tiene una transferencia de calor aceptable para suplir la demanda del edificio Karen en el hotel Selva Negra. Con la metodología empleada se logra realizar una comparativa en cuanto a eficiencia energética y de ahorro económica de dos sistemas térmicos como lo son la recuperación de calor y los solares térmicos, debido a las condiciones de trabajo muestra mayor eficiencia energética y rentabilidad económica la recuperación de calor de compresores herméticos y cabe señalar que el ahorro y la eficiencia energética es un instrumento eficaz para la reducción de emisiones de CO2, las cuales se calcularon con el consumo anual de electricidad 879.32 Kwh lo que dio como resultado reducción de emisiones de 338.46 Kg de CO2 eq

Collaboration and use of ICT as factors of professional teacher development in the Uruguayan educational context. Analysis protocol for a multiple case-study

La colaboración entre docentes, con o sin uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC), constituye un factor determinante en su desarrollo profesional y, en consecuencia, un elemento clave para el buen funcionamiento de los centros educativos y la calidad del sistema escolar. Por este motivo, y dada la escasez de investigaciones sobre el tema en Uruguay fueron exploradas las formas que adopta la colaboración con fines profesionales y los usos de las TIC con estos fines. El diseño del estudio siguió la estrategia de estudio de caso múltiple para el que se seleccionaron cuatro escuelas primarias y cuatro centros de enseñanza secundaria en el departamento de Colonia. En cada centro se aplicó una entrevista en profundidad al director y a dos docentes identificados por sus actitudes hacia la colaboración a partir de un grupo de discusión realizado entre docentes. Asimismo se recolectaron datos del contexto y se realizaron observaciones no participantes de la infraestructura y del ambiente escolar. Los datos fueron procesados según un protocolo de análisis por capas mediante el que se describieron dos casos en detalle. Luego se buscaron patrones entre dichos casos y temas transversales. Por último se organizaron los hallazgos en una meta-matriz para mostrar los vínculos entre qué se identifica como colaboración docente, cuáles son las formas más usuales de colaboración y cuál es el rol de las TIC en el trabajo colaborativo teniendo en cuenta el contexto particular de los casos descriptos. Las principales conclusiones están asociadas al uso de los espacios de socialización y reflexión sobre las prácticas en los centros estudiados y a la manera en que los docentes y la dirección pueden aprovechar esas instancias para el intercambio sobre aspectos ligados a lo pedagógico.Collaboration between teachers, with or without the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), is a determining factor in their professional development and, therefore, a key element for the proper functioning of educational centers and the quality of school system. For such reason, and given the paucity of research on the subject in Uruguay, the forms adopted by collaboration for professional purposes and the uses of ICT for said purposes were explored. The study design followed the multiple case-study strategy for which four primary schools and four secondary schools were selected in the department of Colonia. At each center, an in-depth interview was conducted with the principal and two teachers identified for their attitudes toward collaboration from a discussion group conducted by teachers. In addition, context data were collected and non-participant observations of infrastructure and school environment were carried out. The data were processed according to a layer analysis protocol, in which two cases were described in detail. Patterns between these cases and cross-cutting themes were then sought. Finally, the findings were organized in a meta-matrix in order to show the links between what is identified as teacher collaboration, which are the most common forms of collaboration and what is the role of ICT in collaborative work, taking into account the particular context of the cases described. The main conclusions are associated with the use of spaces for socialization and reflection on the practices in the centers studied, and the way in which teachers and management can take advantage of these instances for the exchange on pedagogical aspects

Teaching with technology innovation of information and communication 2.0 social science: Working with a proposal for interactive concepts maps

Este artículo describe una experiencia innovadora universitaria con mapas conceptuales interactivos sobre los principales ámbitos de intervención socio-educativa del educador social/ trabajador social, desarrollada con 115 estudiantes noveles de dos titulaciones diferentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Sevilla), correspondiente al curso académico 2010-11. El presente estudio forma parte de la investigación denominada: “Innovación docente 2.0 con Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación en el EEES”, en el marco de la Acción 2 de Proyectos de Innovación y Desarrollo Docente, subvencionada por el Vicerrectorado de Docencia y Convergencia Europea de la mencionada Universidad. Entre los objetivos destacan: fomentar el papel activo y autónomo de los estudiantes en el proceso de construcción del conocimiento, elaborar mapas conceptuales interactivos con aplicaciones relacionadas con el software social y reflexionar y analizar los principales ámbitos de intervención social del educador social/trabajador social.This research describes an innovative college experience with concept interactive maps about the main socio-educational intervention of the social educator / social worker developed with 115 novel students from two different degrees of the Social Sciences Faculty at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Sevilla), for the academic year 2010-2011. Relaci?n entre el marketing interno y el compromiso organizacional en el call center IBR Per? 2018

The main objective of the research work was to determine if there is a relationship between internal marketing and the organizational commitment of the IBR Peru Call Center operators in the year 2018. The research design is non-experimental of cross section because the variable of study will not be manipulated and the level of study is descriptive correlational. The survey was measured with the Likert scale and was applied to 100 workers of the company Call Center IBR Peru. This study concluded that the development of employees has been partially because the company does not comply with the established promises since, it did not give the complete information to be able to obtain the benefits or incentives for the fulfillment of goals, likewise, the personnel considers important the trainings established by the company but not in the majority are talks and not certified training, with the trainers being the most experienced personnel
