We present the fabrication and optimization of compact ZnO thin films prepared by sol-gel processing. There upon we employed these thin films as a photo-anode in a dye-sensitized solar cell using an anthracene derivative molecule

A study of the impact of generative AI-based data augmentation on software metadata classification

This paper presents the system submitted by the team from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad in FIRE IRSE 2023 shared task 1 on the automatic usefulness prediction of code-comment pairs as well as the impact of Large Language Model(LLM) generated data on original base data towards an associated source code. We have developed a framework where we train a machine learning-based model using the neural contextual representations of the comments and their corresponding codes to predict the usefulness of code-comments pair and performance analysis with LLM-generated data with base data. In the official assessment, our system achieves a 4% increase in F1-score from baseline and the quality of generated data

A Narrative Review on Priorities of Mental Health Issues among Transgenders: “So Near, Yet so Far”

In recent years there is a rapid rise in coming out of sexual and gender minority adults to their family members and society. Unfortunately, studies on unmet health needs of transgenders with a special focus to mental health is under-researched in India. The current paper aimed to explore about the mental health of transgenders and a literature search was done using PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases for the following medical subject headings (MeSH) key terms “transgender”, “mental Health”, “social stigma”, “LGBT”, “gender dysphoria”, “genderqueer”, “intersex”, “MSM”, “hijra”, “gay”, “lesbian”, “bisexual”, and “homosexual”. Transgender individuals were found to show high rates of mental health concerns. The most common mental health problems that we have shown in this review article are depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, suicidal attempts and bipolar disorders. Transgender people are at more risk for mental health problems than their heterogenous counterparts. The intervention program to eliminate or reduce these problems needs to be planned carefully, considering all the determinants

On Petri Nets with Hierarchical Special Arcs

We investigate the decidability of termination, reachability, coverability and deadlock-freeness of Petri nets endowed with a hierarchy of places, and with inhibitor arcs, reset arcs and transfer arcs that respect this hierarchy. We also investigate what happens when we have a mix of these special arcs, some of which respect the hierarchy, while others do not. We settle the decidability status of the above four problems for all combinations of hierarchy, inhibitor, reset and transfer arcs, except the termination problem for two combinations. For both these combinations, we show that deciding termination is as hard as deciding the positivity problem on linear recurrence sequences -- a long-standing open problem

Re-evaluating ADEM: A Deeper Look at Scoring Dialogue Responses

Automatically evaluating the quality of dialogue responses for unstructured domains is a challenging problem. ADEM(Lowe et al. 2017) formulated the automatic evaluation of dialogue systems as a learning problem and showed that such a model was able to predict responses which correlate significantly with human judgements, both at utterance and system level. Their system was shown to have beaten word-overlap metrics such as BLEU with large margins. We start with the question of whether an adversary can game the ADEM model. We design a battery of targeted attacks at the neural network based ADEM evaluation system and show that automatic evaluation of dialogue systems still has a long way to go. ADEM can get confused with a variation as simple as reversing the word order in the text! We report experiments on several such adversarial scenarios that draw out counterintuitive scores on the dialogue responses. We take a systematic look at the scoring function proposed by ADEM and connect it to linear system theory to predict the shortcomings evident in the system. We also devise an attack that can fool such a system to rate a response generation system as favorable. Finally, we allude to future research directions of using the adversarial attacks to design a truly automated dialogue evaluation system.Comment: Accepted as a long paper in the proceedings of AAAI-201

Influence of inversion on Mg mobility and electrochemistry in spinels

Magnesium oxide and sulfide spinels have recently attracted interest as cathode and electrolyte materials for energy-dense Mg batteries, but their observed electrochemical performance depends strongly on synthesis conditions. Using first principles calculations and percolation theory, we explore the extent to which spinel inversion influences Mg2+^{2+} ionic mobility in MgMn2_2O4_4 as a prototypical cathode, and MgIn2_2S4_4 as a potential solid electrolyte. We find that spinel inversion and the resulting changes of the local cation ordering give rise to both increased and decreased Mg2+^{2+} migration barriers, along specific migration pathways, in the oxide as well as the sulfide. To quantify the impact of spinel inversion on macroscopic Mg2+^{2+} transport, we determine the percolation thresholds in both MgMn2_2O4_4 and MgIn2_2S4_4. Furthermore, we analyze the impact of inversion on the electrochemical properties of the MgMn2_2O4_4 cathode via changes in the phase behavior, average Mg insertion voltages and extractable capacities, at varying degrees of inversion. Our results confirm that inversion is a major performance limiting factor of Mg spinels and that synthesis techniques or compositions that stabilize the well-ordered spinel structure are crucial for the success of Mg spinels in multivalent batteries
