The Effect of Time Management and Teaching Motivation on Professional Teacher Competence ( Study at Junior High School Manado City, Indonesia)
This research aims to o analyze the influence of time management on teacher professional competencies in Manado City Public Middle School, to analyze the effect of teaching motivation on teacher professional competence in Manado City Public Middle School, to analyze the influence of time management, and motivation to teach together on the professional competence of teachers in Manado City Public Middle School. The population in this study were all teachers at the Manado City State Middle School who had the following characteristics: a) having homogeneity in the profession, namely as a teaching profession; b) the experience of working as a teacher is not the same; c) the teachers of the Manado City Public Middle School are often not involved in training, workshops, upgrading and certification; d) most state junior high school teachers have various educational qualifications according to their fields; e) most of the state junior high school teachers live in the city of Manado close to workplace schools; f) teachers from the Manado City Public Middle School are assigned to schools with different conditions from each other; g) most husband and wife of Manado City Public Middle School work so they should be able to manage time.The population size in this study were all Public Middle School Teachers in Manado City, which numbered 601 teachers rounded up to 600.The sample is taken by cluster random sampling technique that is sampling based on school units proportionally or balanced and the taking is done randomly. Random means not selected but based on lottery. Krecjie in calculating sample size is based on a 5% error. So that the sample obtained has 95% confidence in the population. The number of samples is 234 junior high school teachers in the city of Manado. Testing data using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. Based on the results of research and discussion, conclusions can be taken, among others: 1. There is a significant positive effect of time management on the professional competence of teachers in Manado City Public Middle School. 2. There is a significant positive effect on teaching motivation on teacher professional competence in Manado City Public Middle School. 3. There is a simultaneous influence of time management and teaching motivation on teacher professional competence in Manado City Public Middle School. K2 observations of the rapidly oscillating Ap star 33 Lib (HD 137949): new frequencies and unique non-linear interactions
We present the analysis of K2 short cadence data of the rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) star, 33 Librae (HD 137949). The precision afforded to the K2 data allow us to identify at least 11 pulsation modes in this star, compared to the three previously reported. Reoccurring separations between these modes leads us to suggest a large frequency separation, ∆ν, of 78.9 µHz, twice that reported in the literature. Other frequency separations we detect may represent the small frequency separation, δν, but this is inconclusive at this stage due to magnetic perturbation of the frequencies. Due to the highly non-linear pulsation in 33 Lib, we identify harmonics to four times the principal frequency. Furthermore, we note a unique occurrence of non-linear interactions of the 11 identified modes. The frequency separations of the modes around the principal frequency are replicated around the first harmonic, with some interaction with the second harmonic also. Such a phenomenon has not been seen in roAp stars before. With revised stellar parameters, linear non-adiabatic modelling of 33 Lib shows that the pulsations are not greater than the acoustic cutoff frequency, and that the κ-mechanism can excite the observed modes. Our observations are consistent with 33 Lib having a rotation period much larger than 88 d as presented in the literature
Insulating and Conducting Phases of RbC60
Optical measurements were performed on thin films of RbC,
identified by X-ray diffraction as mostly material. The samples were
subjected to various heat treatments, including quenching and slow cooling from
400K. The dramatic increase in the transmission of the quenched samples, and
the relaxation towards the transmission observed in slow cooled samples
provides direct evidence for the existence of a metastable insulating phase.
Slow cooling results in a phase transition between two electrically conducting

Drug Safety Monitoring in Children: Performance of Signal Detection Algorithms and Impact of Age Stratification
Introduction: Spontaneous reports of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) can be analyzed to yield additional drug safety evidence for the pediatric population. Signal detection algorithms (SDAs) are required for these analyses; however, the performance of SDAs in the pediatric population specifically is unknown. We tested the performance of two SDAs on pediatric data from the US FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and investigated the impact of age stratification and age adjustment on the performance of SDAs. Methods: We tested the performance of two established SDAs: the proportional reporting ratio (PRR) and the empirical Bayes geometric mean (EBGM) on a pediatric dataset from FAERS (2004–2012). We compared the performance of the SDAs with a published pediatric-specific reference set by calculating diagnostic test-related statistics, including the area under the curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristics. Impact of age stratification and age-adjustment on the performance of the SDAs was assessed. Age adjustment was performed by pooling (Mantel-Hanszel) stratum-specific estimates. Results: A total of 115,674 pediatric reports (patients aged 0–18 years) comprising 893,587 drug–event combinations (DECs) were analysed. Crude values of the AUC were similar for both SDAs: 0.731 (PRR) and 0.745 (EBGM). Stratification unmasked four DECs, e.g., ‘ibuprofen and thrombocytopenia’. Age adjustment did not improve performance. Conclusion: The performance of the two tested SDAs was similar in the pediatric population. Age adjustment does not improve performance and is therefore not recommended to be performed routinely. Stratification can reveal new associations, and therefore is recommended when either drug use is age-specific or when an age-specific risk is suspected
Design of a nitrogen-implanted titanium-based superelastic alloy with optimized properties for biomedical applications
International audienceIn this study, a superelastic Ni-free Ti-based biomedical alloy was treated in surface by the implantation of nitrogen ions for the first time. The N-implanted surface was characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and secondary ion mass spectroscopy, and the superficial mechanical properties were evaluated by nano-indentation and by ball-on-disk tribological tests. To investigate the biocompatibility, the corrosion resistance of the N-implanted Ti alloy was evaluated in simulated body fluids (SBF) complemented by in-vitro cytocompatibility tests on human fetal osteoblasts. After implantation, surface analysis methods revealed the formation of a titanium-based nitride on the substrate surface. Consequently, an increase in superficial hardness and a significant reduction of friction coefficient were observed compared to the non-implanted sample. Also, a better corrosion resistance and a significant decrease in ion release rates have been obtained. Cell culture experiments indicated that the cytocompatibility of the N-implanted Ti alloy was superior to that of the corresponding non-treated sample. Thus, this new functional N-implanted titanium-based superelastic alloy presents the optimized properties that are required for various medical devices: superelasticity, high superficial mechanical properties, high corrosion resistance and excellent cytocompatibility
Liquid-Solid Transition of Hard Spheres Under Gravity
We investigate the liquid-solid transition of two dimensional hard spheres in
the presence of gravity. We determine the transition temperature and the
fraction of particles in the solid regime as a function of temperature via
Even-Driven molecular dynamics simulations and compare them with the
theoretical predictions. We then examine the configurational statistics of a
vibrating bed from the view point of the liquid-solid transition by explicitly
determining the transition temperature and the effective temperature, T, of the

Specific Heat of the 2D Hubbard Model
Quantum Monte Carlo results for the specific heat c of the two dimensional
Hubbard model are presented. At half-filling it was observed that
at very low temperatures. Two distinct features were also identified: a low
temperature peak related to the spin degrees of freedom and a higher
temperature broad peak related to the charge degrees of freedom. Away from
half-filling the spin induced feature slowly disappears as a function of hole
doping while the charge feature moves to lower temperature. A comparison with

Spectra of weighted algebras of holomorphic functions
We consider weighted algebras of holomorphic functions on a Banach space. We
determine conditions on a family of weights that assure that the corresponding
weighted space is an algebra or has polynomial Schauder decompositions. We
study the spectra of weighted algebras and endow them with an analytic
structure. We also deal with composition operators and algebra homomorphisms,
in particular to investigate how their induced mappings act on the analytic

Red and processed meat consumption and breast cancer: UK Biobank cohort study and meta-analysis
Aim:
Red and processed meat may be risk factors for breast cancer due to their iron content, administration of oestrogens to cattle or mutagens created during cooking. We studied the associations in UK Biobank and then included the results in a meta-analysis of published cohort studies.
Methods:
UK Biobank, a general population cohort study, recruited participants aged 40–69 years. Incident breast cancer was ascertained via linkage to routine hospital admission, cancer registry and death certificate data. Univariate and multivariable Cox proportional hazard models were used to explore the associations between red and processed meat consumption and breast cancer. Previously published cohort studies were identified from a systematic review using PubMed and Ovid and a meta-analysis conducted using a random effects model.
Results:
Over a median of 7 years follow-up, 4819 of the 262,195 women developed breast cancer. The risk was increased in the highest tertile (>9 g/day) of processed meat consumption (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] 1.21, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.08–1.35, p = 0.001). Collation with 10 previous cohort studies provided data on 40,257 incident breast cancers in 1.65 million women. On meta-analysis, processed meat consumption was associated with overall (relative risk [RR] 1.06, 95% CI 1.01–1.11) and post-menopausal (RR 1.09, 95% CI 1.03–1.15), but not pre-menopausal (RR 0.99, 95% CI 0.88–1.10), breast cancer. In UK Biobank and the meta-analysis, red meat consumption was not associated with breast cancer (adjusted HR 0.99 95% CI 0.88–1.12 and RR 1.03, 95% CI 0.99–1.08, respectively).
Conclusions:
Consumption of processed meat, but not red meat, may increase the risk of breast cancer
