Changes in Striatal N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) Stimulation of Dopamine Release and Receptor Subunit Expression During Expression of and Recovery from MPTP-Induced Parkinsonism
Normal and 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP)-treated cats were used to examine changes in N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor function. In vivo microdialysis studies showed that NMDA-stimulated dopamine (DA) release was similar in the normal dorso-lateral and ventro-medial caudate nucleus. In symptomatic animals, NMDA-stimulated DA release was significantly decreased in both striatal regions. In symptomatic animals, NMDA-stimulated dopamine release was significantly decreased in both striatal regions. In recovered animals, the dorsal striatum and ventral striatum demonstrated an upregulation in NMDA-stimulated dopamine release compared to symptomatic animals. Receptor autoradiography showed no significant differences in NMDA receptor binding between normal, symptomatic, and recovered animals in the dorso-lateral caudate. NMDA receptor binding was, however, upregulated in the ventro-medial caudate of recovered animals. With Western analysis, NR1 and NR2A subunit levels in the dorso-lateral caudate were shown to decrease significantly in symptomatic animals compared to normal and then increase in recovered animals compared to symptomatic animals. In the ventro-medial caudate, NR1 and NR2A levels in the symptomatic group were significantly increased compared to normal and recovered groups. These data suggest that there may be recovery-induced changes in the functional regulation of the NMDA receptors in the striatum contributing to the behavioral recovery seen in this model
Orbital MALT Lymphoma: A Case Report
A case of orbital MALT (mucous associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma is reported for its rarity. It presented as a large tumor obscuring the whole eye with loss of vision, without any signs of dissemination and remained free of recurrence or metastasis 12 months after undergoing simple surgical excision

Making Knowledge Management Part of Your Human Capital Strategy: A Look at a Large Government Technical Organization
The U.S. government is facing a human capital crisis in the next five years whereby around half of the federal civil servants will be eligible to retire. Because of this ensuing dilemma, each government agency is developing a human capital strategy. A key pillar underpinning this human capital strategy should be knowledge management . This paper discusses the knowledge management strategy for a large government technical organization, and explains how knowledge management, discovery informatics, and lessons learned systems can become a central component of a human capital strategy
Representing the Stolen Generations in the National Museum of Australia
The removal of Indigenous children from their parents has been part of the colonising relations of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people since the earliest days of the British occupation of Australia. The National Museum of Australia is beginning the process of developing a collection of objects that will enable it to tell this significant story. The paper will look at this curatorial process of ‘remembering’. It will cover such issues as the structure of the Museum; the particular nature of the Indigenous section and its aims; the contested identity of an Indigenous object; relationships established between Museum staff and the community; the ‘implied contract’ of trust established with this community in order to tell their stories; and the ‘object as witness’ and the ‘object as betrayer’
Evaluation of the effect of Yoga and Pranayam on quality of ovulation in primary infertility by Color Doppler Ultrasonography
Evaluation of quality of ovulation is possible with the help of Trans Vaginal Color Doppler Sonography. In case of primary infertility if baseline sonography findings are normal, rest of the female factors for infertility and male factors of infertility are also normal, among this couple if female partner is subjected for daily based Yoga and Pranayam programme designed by qualified Yoga trainer at least for six month we can evaluate the quality of ovum and ovulation. During this programme, randomly selected female patients were subjected for Yoga and Pranayam (Group-I) and similar patients were not participated for Yoga and Pranayam (Group-II). The Trans Vaginal Color Doppler findings during ovulation were compared statistically between both the groups. Six months follow up result showed that pregnancy was positive for more number of patients performing Yoga without ovulation inducing drugs
Management Of Bilateral Temporomandibular Joint Ankylosis With Micrognathia And Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome Using Interpositional Arthroplasty And Distraction Osteogenesis – A Case Report
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) Ankylosis posses many problems like inability to open the mouth, poor oral hygiene, difficulty in eating proper food, unaesthetic appearance due to growth retardation and in severe cases difficulty in breathing specially during night depending on the time of occurance of injury. If the TMJ Ankylosis occurs the early stage of life it affects both the form and function of the patient. One of the most common treatments used to treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis is interpositional arthroplasty (IPA). When patients come with severe mandibular dysplasia either orthognathic surgery or distraction osteogenesis (DO) can be considered. Simultaneous IPA with DO has been used by many surgeons correct TMJ ankylosis associated with facial asymmetry/micrognathia as as it enables them to simultaneously reconstruct the neocondyle and correct facial malformations eliminating the need for second surgery. Here we have narrated a case of an young male patient suffering from bilateral TMJ Ankylosis with micrognathia treated by simultaneous IPA and DO and regular follow up was done.

Pain and Pleasure in Kamala Das’ My Story
Pain and Pleasure are the two psychological terms, used in English language and literature to show or describe the state of human mind with the perception of occurring incidents in their lives. In the relation of meaning, both of the terms are adversative adjectives to each other but both have the most important elements in the existence of human beings in the absence of each other. Pain describes the dark side of life or mental the state of human sufferings while pleasure is expressed during the mental state of joy and entertainment or light side of the life. Both of the terms have been well expressed in the autobiographical work of Kamala Das, My Story published in February 1973. This paper is going to explore the human state of mind in the most autobiographical work of Kamala Das, the female Keats and Lawrence of Indian English literature
Exploring the Dilemma of Innocent Defendants in the Plea Bargaining System
This study investigates the challenges faced by innocent defendants in the plea bargaining system. The dilemma arises from the choice between a risky trial and an immediate conviction for a reduced charge. The research, conducted with fifty-six undergraduate students, the rationality of innocent defendants, the influence of jail threats, socioeconomic status, and gender differences. Using hypothetical scenarios, participants review documents related to a fictitious charge, and ANOVA as well as chi-square statistical analyses are employed to assess the impact of various factors on plea decisions. Surprisingly, the presence of jail time did not significantly influence the likelihood of innocent defendants accepting guilty pleas. However, those who chose guilty pleas perceived their decisions as rational. Socioeconomic status and gender did not significantly affect plea decisions in this study. While the sample\u27s limitations are acknowledged, the research highlights the consistent occurrence of false guilty pleas, emphasizing the need for further exploration with a more diverse sample. The study suggests potential significance in socioeconomic status with a larger sample and encourages future research to consider psychological factors, quasi-experimental designs with real defendants, and the role of attorneys in the plea bargaining process. Despite inconsistencies, the research underscores the importance of understanding the complex factors in the plea bargaining system within the criminal justice system
The Political Exploitation of Feminine Sensibility in Alphabet of Lust
Kamala Das is one of the great voices of feminine sensibility in the history of Indian English literature. She wrote poetical and non-poetical works on love and sex very openly and frankly. Political issues have also been a concerning matter in the personal as well as political life of Kamala Das. Her poetical or non-poetical works have the source of political issues in the form of feminine exploitation to the core of life in the patriarchal society all over the world. Her literary works have a great source of such exploitation in not only her social views but also in the politics, extending from the local to the upper level of cabinet ministry. The present research paper is trying to explore the political exploitation of the feminine sensibility in her novel, Alphabet of Lust, 1976
