From the movements to the movement: The importance of the social, popular and syndical movements in the constitution of the teacher's political identity

Este artigo resulta de pesquisa que investigou a importância dos movimentos social, político e sindical na constituição da identidade política docente. Respaldada na abordagem qualitativa, o trabalho apoiou-se no levantamento bibliográfico e documental, em entrevistas narrativas e observações-participantes. A questão que fomentou o estudo foi: Como a formação, dentro dos movimentos social, popular e sindical, associada à formação sindical, às greves e às paralisações, contribuiu para a constituição da identidade política docente? Constatou-se que a constituição política dos professores entrevistados se iniciou nos movimentos social e popular e amadureceu no movimento sindical. O DESEMPENHO DO ALUNO NAS DISCIPLINAS DE EXATAS VERSUS A SUA PERCEPÇÃO DO DESEMPENHO DO PROFESSOR

Em decorrência dos avanços da sociedade, a área da educação é um setor que está em constante evolução, principalmente o ensino superior. Com base nisso, o presente artigo visa realizar um estudo acerca das disciplinas de exatas dos dois primeiros anos dos cursos de Administração e Sistemas de Informação de uma universidade pública do estado de Minas Gerais. A pesquisa se deu por meio da mensuração do desempenho do docente, haja vista a avaliação de alunos, bem como do desempenho do discente, a julgar pelas notas. Após a mensuração dos dados, investigou-se a possibilidade de exercer um comparativo entre as performances para averiguar se há influências entre elas. A coleta de dados ocorreu mediante a questionários aplicados no início e final dos semestres letivos e, posteriormente, fora feita a análise das amostras constando em análise descritiva univariada e inspeção, respectivamente. ASPECTOS EPIDEMIOLÓGICOS E PREVALÊNCIA DE ENTEROPARASITOSES EM CRIANÇAS DO BAIRRO JAMBEIRO, SÃO LUÍS, MA

A carência de condições básicas de higiene e saneamento, aliadas à falta de limpeza dos reservatórios de água e a não utilização de água fltrada ou fervida, intensifcam a ocorrência de problemas de saúde pública. Com o intuito de contribuir para a conscientização da população acerca dos problemas de saúde decorrentes da contaminação da água, realizou-se no Bairro do Jambeiro, localizado nas mediações da Universidade Federal do Maranhão, um projeto interdisciplinar que visou, pela divulgação dos dados da pesquisa científca, avaliar a água utilizada pelos moradores através de análise físico-química, microbiológica e parasitológica, de modo que os resultados permitissem a conscientização, através de atividades educacionais dos moradores. Os resultados endossam a precariedade de condições sanitárias encontradas nessa comunidade. Os poços, as torneiras e o córrego apresentam níveis de contaminação acima do recomendável pela Resolução CONAMA e ANVISA, sendo, portanto, impróprias para o consumo. Os exames parasitológicos revelaram alta prevalência (91%) de enteroparasitoses nas crianças. A partir desses resultados os integrantes do projeto e seus parceiros realizaram palestras destinadas à comunidade sobre os meios de tratamento da água, biologia dos parasitas e medidas profláticas das principais verminoses. Concomitante, ocorreu a entrega e esclarecimentos dos laudos da análise físico-química, microbiológica e parasitológica, onde houve a distribuição de remédios às crianças que estavam infectadas.Descritores:  Enteroparasitos; Epidemiologia; Prevalência.Abstract: The lack of basic conditions hygiene and sanitation, allied to grubbiness of water reservoirs and no use of fltered or boiled water, enhance the occurrence of health public problems. With the aim of contribute to awareness of the population about the health problems resulting from the water contamination, was held in the District of the Jambeiro, located near the Federal University of Maranhão, an interdisciplinary project the aimed, by disclosure of scientifc research, to evaluate the water used by population through physico-chemical, microbiological and parasitological analyses, so that the results allow awareness through educational activities of population. The results comproved the precarious sanitary conditions found in this community. The level contamination of the wells, taps and stream is higher than recommended by Resolution CONAMA and ANVISA, therefore, unft for consumption. The parasitological revealed a high prevalence (91%) of intestinal parasites in children. Based on these results the members of the project and its partners held talks for the community about the water treatment, biology of parasites and worms and of the main prophylactic measures. Concomitantly, there was the delivery and clarifcation of reports of physico-chemical, microbiological and parasitological, where there was the distribution of drugs to children who were infected.Descriptors: Enteroparasites; Epidemiology; Prevalence

Productive potential of cassava plants (Manihot esculenta Crantz) propagated by leaf buds

ABSTRACT New techniques of rapid multiplication of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) have been developed, requiring technical support for large-scale use. This work main to evaluate the agronomic performance of plantlets obtained by leaf buds technique against stem cuttings in the field conditions. The work was conducted using the randomized block design in a factorial scheme with 3 varieties (BRS Kiriris, 98150-06, 9624-09) × 4 origins of the plantlets (conventional - stem cuttings of 20 cm length, leaf buds of the upper, middle and inferior stem part) × 2 agrochemicals (control and treated). There was a remarkable decrease in some agronomic traits that ranged from 23% (number of branches) to 62% (shoot weight) when using leaf buds plantlets. The treatment of plantlets with agrochemicals promoted significant increases in all traits, ranging from 26% (number of roots per plant) to 46% (shoot weight). The plantlets originating from leaf buds of the upper and middle parts were able to generate stem-like plants similar to stem-derived ones. Despite its lower agronomic performance under field conditions, multiplication by leaf buds may generate five times the number of propagules in comparison with the conventional multiplication, and therefore it could be a viable alternative for rapid cassava multiplication

Ophthalmic artery Doppler velocimetry in healthy pregnancy

Objectives: To establish normative data for ophthalmic artery Doppler parameters throughout a healthy pregnancy, to investigate the possible correlation between these Doppler measurements and gestational age, and to test intraobserver variability. Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was performed to assess various Doppler parameters in 276 healthy women between 20 and 39 weeks of gestation. the following measurements were obtained: pulsatility and resistance indices (PI, RI), peak systolic velocity (PSV), peak diastolic velocity (PDV), end diastolic flow velocity (EDFV), and peak ratio (PR). Quantile regression was used to estimate reference values throughout pregnancy and P<0.05 was considered significant. the intraclass correlation coefficient (Intra-CC) was used to calculate intraobserver variability. Results: the 5th and 95th prediction intervals for each gestational age are presented. No significant correlation was detected between Doppler indices and gestational age. Intra-CC was excellent (0.996). Conclusions: Reference values were generated for ophthalmic artery Doppler measurements, and they did not vary significantly during healthy pregnancy.
