Prototype Graphs for radiative Corrections to Polarized Chargino or Neutralino Production in Electron-Positron Annihilation
We present the contributions from all types of one-loop corrections to the
scattering amplitude for the pair production of polarized charginos or
neutralinos from polarized electron-positron annihilation. The contributions
are classified in terms of ``prototypes'' distinguished by the number of
particles inside the loops and their spins. The results are quoted in terms of
the Veltman-Passarino functions in terms of general couplings and internal
masses. The results can therefore be applied to any supersymmetric extension of
the Standard Model or indeed to any polarized fermion pair production process

Oxidative Stress Response to Short Duration Bout of Submaximal Aerobic Exercise in Healthy Young Adults
The purpose of this study was to investigate the oxidative stress response to a short duration bout of submaximal exercise in a cohort of healthy young adults. 15 apparently healthy college age males and females completed a modified Bruce-protocol treadmill test to 75–80% of their heart rate reserve. Blood samples collected immediately before (pre-exercise), immediately after, 30, 60 and 120 minutes post-exercise were assayed for total antioxidant capacity (TAC), superoxide disumutase (SOD), thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS), and protein carbonyls (PC). SOD activity was significantly increased from pre-exercise levels at 30 minutes (77%), 60 minutes (33%), and 120 minutes (37%) post-exercise. TAC levels were also significantly increased from pre-exercise levels at 60 minutes (30%) and 120 minutes (33%) post-exercise. There were no significant changes in biomarkers for reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS) mediated damage (TBARS and PC) across all post-exercise time points. In a cohort of healthy young adults, a short duration bout of submaximal aerobic exercise elicited increases in antioxidant activity/concentration, but did not evoke changes in oxidative stress-induced damage. These results may suggest that: (1) short duration bouts of submaximal aerobic exercise are sufficient to induce RONS generation; and (2) the antioxidant defense system is capable of protecting against enhanced RONS production induced by a short duration, submaximal exercise bout in healthy young adults
Work and energy in inertial and non inertial reference frames
It is usual in introductory courses of mechanics to develop the work and
energy formalism from Newton's laws. On the other hand, literature analyzes the
way in which forces transform under a change of reference frame.
Notwithstanding, no analogous study is done for the way in which work and
energy transform under those changes of reference frames. We analyze the
behavior of energy and work under such transformations and show explicitly the
expected invariance of the formalism under Galilean transformations for one
particle and a system of particles. The case of non inertial systems is also
analyzed and the fictitious works are characterized. In particular, we show
that the total fictitious work in the center of mass system vanishes even if
the center of mass defines a non inertial frame. Finally, some subtleties that

Strictly Anomaly Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking
We consider an MSSM extension with anomaly mediation as the source of
supersymmetry-breaking, and a U(1) symmetry which solves the tachyonic slepton
problem, and introduces both the see-saw mechanism for neutrino masses, and the
Higgs mu-term. We compare its spectra with those from so-called minimal anomaly
mediated supersymmetry breaking. We find a Standard Model-like Higgs of mass
125 GeV with a gravitino mass of 140 TeV and tan(beta)=16. However, the muon
anomalous magnetic moment is 3 sigma away from the experimental value.
The model naturally produces a period of hybrid inflation, which can exit to
a false vacuum characterised by large Higgs vevs, reaching the true ground
state after a period of thermal inflation. The scalar spectral index is reduced
to approximately 0.975, and the correct abundance of neutralino dark matter can
be produced by decays of thermally-produced gravitinos, provided the gravitino
mass (and hence the Higgs mass) is high. Naturally light cosmic strings are
produced, satisfying bounds from the Cosmic Microwave Background. The
complementary pulsar timing and cosmic ray bounds require that strings decay
primarily via loops into gravitational waves. Unless the loops are extremely
small, the next generation pulsar timing array will rule out or detect the

Performances of multi-gap timing RPCs for relativistic ions in the range Z=1-6
We present the performance of Multi-gap timing RPCs under irradiation by
fully stripped relativistic ions (gamma*beta=2.7, Z=1-6). A time resolution of
80 ps at high efficiency has been obtained by just using standard `off the
shelf' 4-gap timing RPCs from the new HADES ToF wall. The resolution worsened
to 100 ps for ~ 1 kHz/cm2 proton flux and for ~ 100 Hz/cm2 Carbon flux. The
chambers were operated at a standard field of E=100 kV/cm and showed a high
stability during the experiment, supporting the fact that RPCs are a convenient
choice when accommodating a very broad range of ionizing particles is needed.
The data provides insight in the region of very highly ionizing particles (up
to x 36 mips) and can be used to constrain the existing avalanche and
Space-Charge models far from the usual `mip valley'. The implications of these
results for the general case of detection based on secondary processes (n,
gamma) resulting in highly ionizing particles with characteristic energy
distributions will be discussed, together with the nature of the time-charge

Self-perceived cultural competence. A cross-sectional study about nurses' awareness and behavior
Background: Cultural competence is a valuable and intangible heritage of knowledge, relationships and identity. Cultural competence is fundamental in nursing: sharing the objectives of all patients - not only foreigners - promotes patient's participation in healthcare and supports nurses' professional development, enhancing the intellectual capital that guides quality care. The aim of this study is to evaluate nurses' self-perceived cultural competence. Study design: This is a cross-sectional study. Methods: A self-administered cultural-competence questionnaire was used. Nurses working in hospitals and territorial healthcare settings in Rome, Italy, were involved in this study, from March 2017 to February 2018. Results: This study involved 192 nurses. The mean age was 46.2 ± 7.9. Most of the nurses (77.6%) were women. The nurses' mean work experience was 21.4 ± 8.8 years; 65.1% of them had never attended any type of course concerning multiculturalism. The mean score of the nurses' cultural competence was 4.19 ± 0.57 (range = 2.75-5.71). In all, 41.7% of the nurses did not consider themselves neither competent nor incompetent. Conclusion: The results show that nurses have an acceptable level of cultural competence, slightly higher in the territorial context
Covariant Pauli-Villars Regularization of Quantum Gravity at the One Loop Order
We study a regularization of the Pauli-Villars kind of the one loop
gravitational divergences in any dimension. The Pauli-Villars fields are
massive particles coupled to gravity in a covariant and nonminimal way, namely
one real tensor and one complex vector. The gauge is fixed by means of the
unusual gauge-fixing that gives the same effective action as in the context of
the background field method. Indeed, with the background field method it is
simple to see that the regularization effectively works. On the other hand, we
show that in the usual formalism (non background) the regularization cannot
work with each gauge-fixing.In particular, it does not work with the usual one.
Moreover, we show that, under a suitable choice of the Pauli-Villars
coefficients, the terms divergent in the Pauli-Villars masses can be corrected
by the Pauli-Villars fields themselves. In dimension four, there is no need to
add counterterms quadratic in the curvature tensor to the Einstein action
(which would be equivalent to the introduction of new coupling constants). The
technique also works when matter is coupled to gravity. We discuss the possible
consequences of this approach, in particular the renormalization of Newton's
coupling constant and the appearance of two parameters in the effective action,

A Note on Scalar Field Theory in AdS_3/CFT_2
We consider a scalar field theory in AdS_{d+1}, and introduce a formalism on
surfaces at equal values of the radial coordinate. In particular, we define the
corresponding conjugate momentum. We compute the Noether currents for
isometries in the bulk, and perform the asymptotic limit on the corresponding
charges. We then introduce Poisson brackets at the border, and show that the
asymptotic values of the bulk scalar field and the conjugate momentum transform
as conformal fields of scaling dimensions \Delta_{-} and \Delta_{+},
respectively, where \Delta_{\pm} are the standard parameters giving the
asymptotic behavior of the scalar field in AdS. Then we consider the case d=2,
where we obtain two copies of the Virasoro algebra, with vanishing central
charge at the classical level. An AdS_3/CFT_2 prescription, giving the
commutators of the boundary CFT in terms of the Poisson brackets at the border,
arises in a natural way. We find that the boundary CFT is similar to a
generalized ghost system. We introduce two different ground states, and then
compute the normal ordering constants and quantum central charges, which depend
on the mass of the scalar field and the AdS radius. We discuss certain
