Signature of a massive rotating metal-poor star imprinted in the Phoenix stellar stream*
The Phoenix stellar stream has a low intrinsic dispersion in velocity and
metallicity that implies the progenitor was probably a low mass globular
cluster. In this work we use Magellan/MIKE high-dispersion spectroscopy of
eight Phoenix stream red giants to confirm this scenario. In particular, we
find negligible intrinsic scatter in metallicity () and a large peak-to-peak range in [Na/Fe] and [Al/Fe]
abundance ratios, consistent with the light element abundance patterns seen in
the most metal-poor globular clusters. However, unlike any other globular
cluster, we also find an intrinsic spread in [Sr II/Fe] spanning 1 dex,
while [Ba II/Fe] shows nearly no intrinsic spread (). This abundance signature is best interpreted as
slow neutron capture element production from a massive fast-rotating metal-poor
star (, ,
). The low inferred cluster mass suggests the system
would have been unable to retain supernovae ejecta, implying that any massive
fast-rotating metal-poor star that enriched the interstellar medium must have
formed and evolved before the globular cluster formed. Neutron capture element
production from asymptotic giant branch stars or magneto-rotational
instabilities in core-collapse supernovae provide poor fits to the
observations. We also report one Phoenix stream star to be a lithium-rich giant
(). At it is among the

Care mapping in clinical neuroscience settings: Cognitive impairment and dependency.
Person-centred care can improve the well-being of patients and is therefore a key driver in healthcare developments in the UK. The current study aims to investigate the complex relationship between cognitive impairment, dependency and well-being in people with a wide range of acquired brain and spinal injuries. Sixty-five participants, with varied acquired brain and spinal injuries, were selected by convenience sampling from six inpatient clinical neuroscience settings. Participants were observed using Dementia Care Mapping - Neurorehabilitation (DCM-NR) and categorised based on severity of cognitive impairment. A significant difference in the behaviours participants engaged in, their well-being and dependency was found between the severe cognitive impairment group and the mild, moderate or no cognitive impairment groups. Dependency and cognitive impairment accounted for 23.9% of the variance in well-ill-being scores and 17.2% of the variance in potential for positive engagement. The current study highlights the impact of severe cognitive impairment and dependency on the behaviours patients engaged in and their well-being. It also affirms the utility of DCM-NR in providing insights into patient experience. Consideration is given to developing DCM-NR as a process that may improve person-centred care in neuroscience settings
British press attitudes towards the EU's global presence:from the Russian-Georgian War to the 2009 Copenhagen Summit
This article surveys the way in which British print media have presented the European Union (EU)'s global presence in the international arena by analysing two case studies which reflect two very distinctive areas of EU foreign policy: global climate change policy and the policy towards Russia. It employs frame analysis, allowing for the identification of the way in which the discourse of the press was categorized around a series of central opinions and ideas. Frames underscore the connections made by journalists between different events, policies or phenomena and their possible interpretations. The analysis highlights that acting through the common framework of the EU rather than unilaterally was a strategy preferred by the British press. These findings are in stark contrast with the deep Euroscepticism which characterizes press attitudes towards most policy areas, and is often considered to be rooted in the British political culture, media system, public opinion or the longstanding tradition of viewing the European continent as the other
PERENCANAAN FDD-LTE MENGGUNAKAN FREKUENSI 1800MHZ PADA PERANCANGAN INDOOR BUILDING COVERAGE DI YOGYA KEPATIHAN BANDUNG
Material sebuah gedung merupakan salah satu penyebab dari terjadinya fading sehingga menghambat sinyal masuk ke dalam gedung yang mengakibatkan sinyal didalam gedung tersebut lemah. Pada gedung Yogya Kepatihan memiliki masalah terhadap kualitas jaringan didalamnya sehingga butuh dilakukannya perencanaan Indoor untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dilakukannya walk test diperoleh nilai rata-rata dari RSRP sebesar -96 dBm dan SINR sebesar 8 dB, sedangkan drivetest sekitaran Gedung memperoleh hasil RSRP sebesar -72 dBm dan SINR sebesar 5 dB.
Penerapan Indoor Building Coverage (IBC) ini menggunakan sistem Distributed Antenna System (DAS) dengan teknik FDD-LTE pita frekuensi 1800 MHz, untuk simulasinya menggunakan Radiowave Propagation Software (RPS) dengan model propagasi Cost-231 Multi-Wall Indoor. Operator Telkomsel menjadi kasus dalam penerapan ini. Walktest di dalam gedung menggunakan Nemo handy, sedangkan drivetest menggunakan GnetTrack Pro. Setelah mendapatkan data lalu dilanjutkan perhitungan capacity planning dan coverage planning sehingga mendapatkan perhitungan untuk jumlah antena yang akan di simulasikan ke dalam software RPS untuk mendapatkan hasil parameter yang sesuai dengan standar Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Operator Telkomsel yaitu RSRP > -85 dBm dan SINR > 10 dB.
Dari hasil simulasi ini, diperoleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata RSRP > -76 dBm sebanyak 81,95% dan rata-rata nilai SINR > 26 sebanyak 71,56%.

A Rogues’ Gallery of Andromeda's Dwarf Galaxies. I. A Predominance of Red Horizontal Branches
We present homogeneous, sub-horizontal branch photometry of twenty dwarf
spheroidal satellite galaxies of M31 observed with the Hubble Space Telescope.
Combining our new data for sixteen systems with archival data in the same
filters for another four, we show that Andromeda dwarf spheroidal galaxies
favor strikingly red horizontal branches or red clumps down to ~10^{4.2} Lsun
(M_V ~ -5.8). The age-sensitivity of horizontal branch stars implies that a
large fraction of the M31 dwarf galaxies have extended star formation histories
(SFHs), and appear inconsistent with early star formation episodes that were
rapidly shutdown. Systems fainter than ~10^{5.5} Lsun show the widest range in
the ratios and morphologies of red and blue horizontal branches, indicative of
both complex SFHs and a diversity in quenching timescales and/or mechanisms,
which is qualitatively different from what is currently known for faint Milky
Way (MW) satellites of comparable luminosities. Our findings bolster similar
conclusions from recent deeper data for a handful of M31 dwarf galaxies. We
discuss several sources for diversity of our data such as varying halo masses,
patchy reionization, mergers/accretion, and the environmental influence of M31
and the Milky Way on the early evolution of their satellite populations. A
detailed comparison between the histories of M31 and MW satellites would shed
signifiant insight into the processes that drive the evolution of low-mass
galaxies. Such a study will require imaging that reaches the oldest main

The Event Horizon Telescope Image of the Quasar NRAO 530
We report on the observations of the quasar NRAO 530 with the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) on 2017 April 5−7, when NRAO 530 was used as a calibrator for the EHT observations of Sagittarius A*. At z = 0.902, this is the most distant object imaged by the EHT so far. We reconstruct the first images of the source at 230 GHz, at an unprecedented angular resolution of ∼20 μas, both in total intensity and in linear polarization (LP). We do not detect source variability, allowing us to represent the whole data set with static images. The images reveal a bright feature located on the southern end of the jet, which we associate with the core. The feature is linearly polarized, with a fractional polarization of ∼5%-8%, and it has a substructure consisting of two components. Their observed brightness temperature suggests that the energy density of the jet is dominated by the magnetic field. The jet extends over 60 μas along a position angle ∼ −28°. It includes two features with orthogonal directions of polarization (electric vector position angle), parallel and perpendicular to the jet axis, consistent with a helical structure of the magnetic field in the jet. The outermost feature has a particularly high degree of LP, suggestive of a nearly uniform magnetic field. Future EHT observations will probe the variability of the jet structure on microarcsecond scales, while simultaneous multiwavelength monitoring will provide insight into the high-energy emission origin
Ordered magnetic fields around the 3C 84 central black hole
Context. 3C 84 is a nearby radio source with a complex total intensity structure, showing linear polarisation and spectral patterns. A detailed investigation of the central engine region necessitates the use of very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI) above the hitherto available maximum frequency of 86 GHz.Aims. Using ultrahigh resolution VLBI observations at the currently highest available frequency of 228 GHz, we aim to perform a direct detection of compact structures and understand the physical conditions in the compact region of 3C 84.Methods. We used Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) 228 GHz observations and, given the limited (u; v)-coverage, applied geometric model fitting to the data. Furthermore, we employed quasi-simultaneously observed, ancillary multi-frequency VLBI data for the source in order to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the core structure.Results. We report the detection of a highly ordered, strong magnetic field around the central, supermassive black hole of 3C 84. The brightness temperature analysis suggests that the system is in equipartition. We also determined a turnover frequency of gamma(m) = (113 +/- 4) GHz, a corresponding synchrotron self-absorbed magnetic field of B-SSA = (2.9 +/- 1.6) G, and an equipartition magnetic field of B-eq = (5.2 +/- 0.6) G. Three components are resolved with the highest fractional polarisation detected for this object (m(net) = (17.0 +/- 3.9)%). The positions of the components are compatible with those seen in low-frequency VLBI observations since 2017-2018. We report a steeply negative slope of the spectrum at 228 GHz. We used these findings to test existing models of jet formation, propagation, and Faraday rotation in 3C 84.Conclusions. The findings of our investigation into di fferent flow geometries and black hole spins support an advection-dominated accretion flow in a magnetically arrested state around a rapidly rotating supermassive black hole as a model of the jet-launching system in the core of 3C 84. However, systematic uncertainties due to the limited (u, v)-coverage, however, cannot be ignored. Our upcoming work using new EHT data, which offer full imaging capabilities, will shed more light on the compact region of 3C 84
First M87 Event Horizon Telescope Results. IX. Detection of Near-horizon Circular Polarization
Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations have revealed a bright ring of emission around the supermassive black hole at the center of the M87 galaxy. EHT images in linear polarization have further identified a coherent spiral pattern around the black hole, produced from ordered magnetic fields threading the emitting plasma. Here we present the first analysis of circular polarization using EHT data, acquired in 2017, which can potentially provide additional insights into the magnetic fields and plasma composition near the black hole. Interferometric closure quantities provide convincing evidence for the presence of circularly polarized emission on event-horizon scales. We produce images of the circular polarization using both traditional and newly developed methods. All methods find a moderate level of resolved circular polarization across the image (〈|v|〉 < 3.7%), consistent with the low image-integrated circular polarization fraction measured by the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (|vint| < 1%). Despite this broad agreement, the methods show substantial variation in the morphology of the circularly polarized emission, indicating that our conclusions are strongly dependent on the imaging assumptions because of the limited baseline coverage, uncertain telescope gain calibration, and weakly polarized signal. We include this upper limit in an updated comparison to general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulation models. This analysis reinforces the previously reported preference for magnetically arrested accretion flow models. We find that most simulations naturally produce a low level of circular polarization consistent with our upper limit and that Faraday conversion is likely the dominant production mechanism for circular polarization at 230 GHz in M87
