Uniqueness of infrared asymptotics in Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory
We uniquely determine the infrared asymptotics of Green functions in Landau
gauge Yang-Mills theory. They have to satisfy both,
Dyson-Schwinger equations and functional renormalisation group equations.
Then, consistency fixes the relation between the infrared power laws of these
Green functions. We discuss consequences for the interpretation of recent

New Anisotropic Behavior of Quantum Hall Resistance in (110) GaAs Heterostructures at mK Temperatures and Fractional Filling Factors
Transport experiments in high mobility (110) GaAs heterostructures have been
performed at very low temperatures 8 mK. At higher Landau-Levels we observe a
transport anisotropy that bears some similarity with what is already seen at
half-odd-integer filling on (001) oriented substrates. In addition we report
the first observation of transport anisotropies within the lowest Landau-Level.
This remarkable new anisotropy is independent of the current direction and

Adaptive structure radial basis function network model for processes with operating region migration
An adaptive structure radial basis function (RBF) network model is proposed in this paper to model nonlinear processes with operating region migration. The recursive orthogonal least squares algorithm is adopted to select new centers on-line, as well as to train the network weights. Based on the R matrix in the orthogonal decomposition, an initial center bank is formed and updated in each sample period. A new learning strategy is proposed to gain information from the new data for network structure adaptation. A center grouping algorithm is also developed to divide the centers into active and non-active groups, so that a structure with a smaller size is maintained in the final network model. The proposed RBF model is evaluated and compared to the two fixed-structure RBF networks by modeling a nonlinear time-varying numerical example. The results demonstrate that the proposed adaptive structure model is capable of adapting its structure to fit the operating region of the process effectively with a more compact structure and it significantly outperforms the two fixed structure RBF models
Multiple Metamorphic Stages within an Eclogite-facies Terrane (Sesia Zone, Western Alps) Revealed by Th-U-Pb Petrochronology
Convergent plate margins typically experience a transition from subduction to collision dynamics as massive continental blocks enter the subduction channel. Studies of high-pressure rocks indicate that tectonic fragments are rapidly exhumed from eclogite facies to mid-crustal levels, but the details of such dynamics are controversial. To understand the dynamics of a subduction channel we report the results of a petrochronological study from the central Sesia Zone, a key element of the internal Western Alps. This comprises two polymetamorphic basement complexes (Eclogitic Micaschist Complex and Gneiss Minuti Complex) and a thin, dismembered cover sequence (Scalaro Unit) associated with pre-Alpine metagabbros and metasediments (Bonze Unit). Structurally controlled samples from three of these units (Eclogitic Micaschist Complex and Scalaro-Bonze Units) yield unequivocal petrological and geochronological evidence of two distinct high-pressure stages. Ages (U-Th-Pb) of growth zones in accessory allanite and zircon, combined with inclusion and textural relationships, can be tied to the multi-stage evolution of single samples. Two independent tectono-metamorphic ‘slices' showing a coherent metamorphic evolution during a given time interval have been recognized: the Fondo slice (which includes Scalaro and Bonze rocks) and the Druer slice (belonging to the Eclogitic Micaschist Complex). The new data indicate separate stages of deformation at eclogite-facies conditions for each recognized independent kilometer-sized tectono-metamorphic slice, between ∼85 and 60 Ma, with evidence of intermittent decompression (ΔP ∼ 0·5 GPa) within only the Fondo slice. The evolution path of the Druer slice indicates a different P-T-time evolution with prolonged eclogite-facies metamorphism between ∼85 and 75 Ma. Unconventional MBE Strategies from Computer Simulations for Optimized Growth Conditions
We investigate the influence of step edge diffusion (SED) and desorption on
Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) using kinetic Monte-Carlo simulations of the
solid-on-solid (SOS) model. Based on these investigations we propose two
strategies to optimize MBE growth. The strategies are applicable in different
growth regimes: During layer-by-layer growth one can exploit the presence of
desorption in order to achieve smooth surfaces. By additional short high flux
pulses of particles one can increase the growth rate and assist layer-by-layer
growth. If, however, mounds are formed (non-layer-by-layer growth) the SED can
be used to control size and shape of the three-dimensional structures. By
controlled reduction of the flux with time we achieve a fast coarsening

Quark zero modes in intersecting center vortex gauge fields
The zero modes of the Dirac operator in the background of center vortex gauge
field configurations in and are examined. If the net flux in D=2
is larger than 1 we obtain normalizable zero modes which are mainly localized
at the vortices. In D=4 quasi-normalizable zero modes exist for intersecting
flat vortex sheets with the Pontryagin index equal to 2. These zero modes are
mainly localized at the vortex intersection points, which carry a topological
charge of . To circumvent the problem of normalizability the
space-time manifold is chosen to be the (compact) torus \T^2 and \T^4,
respectively. According to the index theorem there are normalizable zero modes
on \T^2 if the net flux is non-zero. These zero modes are localized at the
vortices. On \T^4 zero modes exist for a non-vanishing Pontryagin index. As

Interleukin-9 Overexpression and Th9 Polarization Characterize the Inflamed Gut, the Synovial Tissue, and the Peripheral Blood of Patients With Psoriatic Arthritis
Objective. To investigate the expression and tis- sue distribution of Th9-related cytokines in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA).
Methods. Quantitative gene expression analysis of Th1, Th17, and Th9 cytokines was performed in intestinal biopsy samples obtained from patients with PsA, HLA2B272positive patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), patients with Crohn’s disease (CD), and healthy controls. Expression and tissue distribu- tion of interleukin-23 (IL-23), IL-17, IL-22, IL-9, and IL-9 receptor (IL-9R) were evaluated by immunohisto- chemistry and confocal microscopy. Flow cytometry was used to study the frequency of Th9 cells among periph- eral blood, lamina propria, and synovial fluid mononuclear cells. The functional relevance of IL-9R expression on epithelial cells was assessed in functional in vitro studies. Th9 cells in synovial tissue from patients with PsA were also studied.
Results. Subclinical gut inflammation in PsA patients was characterized by a clear Th17 and Th22, but not Th1, polarized immune response. Unlike AS and CD, a strong and significant up-regulation of IL-9 was observed in PsA gut, especially among infiltrating mononuclear cells, high endothelial venules, and Pan- eth cells. IL-92positive mononuclear cells were demon- strated to be in large part Th9 cells. IL-9 overexpression was accompanied by significant Paneth cell hyperplasia. Paneth cells strongly overexpressed IL-9R, and stimula- tion of epithelial cells, isolated from PsA patients, with IL-9 resulted in overexpression of a-defensin 5 and IL-23p19. Peripheral and synovial expansion of a4b71 Th9 cells was also observed in patients with PsA. Increased expression of IL-9 and IL-9R was also found in synovial tissue.
Conclusion. Strong IL-9/Th9 polarization seems to be the predominant immunologic signature in patients in PsA
