    Este trabajo, forma parte del recientemente aprobado proyecto de Extensión Universitaria “Cronistas Barriales”, perteneciente al Programa de Extensión “Comunicación: Participación y Ciudadanía”. El proceso de Transformación que atraviesan las políticas en comunicación audiovisual en nuestro país, es el principal desencadenante de reflexiones en torno al rol de la imagen en nuestra sociedad. En particular, la información televisiva es cada vez más tildada de ser un producto de consumo y al servicio de los intereses económicos de las empresas que producen la información. Es por eso, que la democratización de la información requiere, entre otras cosas, trasladar su producción a aquellos lugares donde la información es considerada un derecho humano y está al servicio de necesidades sociales. Los distintos barrios de la región no pueden acceder a una agenda informativa audiovisual, porque los medios existentes no ponen atención a dichos reclamos. En consecuencia, es necesario crear nuevos medios de información que los contengan. Por otra parte, los jóvenes necesitan capacitarse en herramientas de comunicación audiovisual para poder desarrollar los medios antes mencionados. Para ello, es oportuno articular la experticia con la que cuenta la Universidad, con el trabajo territorial que viene desarrollando la Secretaría de Desarrollo Social del Municipio de Quilmes.

    From circular paths to elliptic orbits: A geometric approach to Kepler's motion

    The hodograph, i.e. the path traced by a body in velocity space, was introduced by Hamilton in 1846 as an alternative for studying certain dynamical problems. The hodograph of the Kepler problem was then investigated and shown to be a circle, it was next used to investigate some other properties of the motion. We here propose a new method for tracing the hodograph and the corresponding configuration space orbit in Kepler's problem starting from the initial conditions given and trying to use no more than the methods of synthetic geometry in a sort of Newtonian approach.     Nombre del PAP: Gestión del Cambio, del Talento Humano y la Efectividad Organizacional. Propósito general del proyecto: El propósito del presente proyecto es generar, con base en una investigación y la impartición de un taller, una cultura de organización de tiempo que garantice un mayor aprovechamiento y utilización de los recursos disponibles para una organización, logrando a su vez que los trabajadores reflexionen conforme a como manejan su tiempo. El proyecto es una continuación del PAP del semestre de primavera 2022, en el que se llevó a cabo una evaluación conforme la NOM 035, misma que tuvo como producto una identificación de los riesgos psicosociales que generan mayor problema en la organización. Destacando el alcance de este proyecto se puede decir que está visualizado ante el personal de recursos humanos de una empresa de la rama tecnológica y las múltiples unidades de negocio que la conforman, de manera que la logística se llevó a cabo de manera colaborativa con el enlace que se tiene con la empresa. El resultado es un reporte ejecutivo en el que se plasma la información relevante para la organización para que a su vez aporte beneficios de gran utilidad para identificar y evitar los riesgos psicosociales.ITESO, A.C

    Remediation of metal-contaminated soils with the addition of materials. Part 2: Leaching tests to evaluate the efficiency of materials in the remediation of contaminated soils

    The effect of the addition of materials on the leaching pattern of As and metals (Cu, Zn, Ni, Pb, and Cd) in two contaminated soils was investigated. The examined materials included bentonites, silicates and industrial wastes, such as sugar foam, fly ashes and a material originated from the zeolitization of fly ash. Soil + material mixtures were prepared at 10% doses. Changes in the acid neutralization capacity, crystalline phases and contaminant leaching over a wide range of pHs were examined by using pH(stat) leaching tests. Sugar foam, the zeolitic material and MX-80 bentonite produced the greatest decrease in the leaching of pollutants due to an increase in the pH and/or the sorption capacity in the resulting mixture. This finding suggests that soil remediation may be a feasible option for the reuse of non-hazardous wastes

    Metal-Insulator Transition in the Two-Dimensional Hubbard Model at Half-Filling with Lifetime Effects within the Moment Approach

    We explore the effect of the imaginary part of the self-energy, ImΣ(k,ω)Im\Sigma(\vec{k},\omega), having a single pole, Ω(k,ω)\Omega(\vec{k},\omega), with spectral weight, α(k)\alpha(\vec{k}), and quasi-particle lifetime, Γ(k)\Gamma(\vec{k}), on the density of states. We solve the set of parameters, Ω(k,ω\Omega(\vec{k},\omega), α(k)\alpha(\vec{k}), and Γ(k)\Gamma(\vec{k}) by means of the moment approach (exact sum rules) of Nolting. Our choice for Σ(k,ω)\Sigma(k,\omega), satisfies the Kramers - Kronig relationship automatically. Due to our choice of the self - energy, the system is not a Fermi liquid for any value of the interaction, a result which is also true in the moment approach of Nolting without lifetime effects. By increasing the value of the local interaction, U/WU/W, at half-filling (ρ=1/2\rho = 1/2), we go from a paramagnetic metal to a paramagnetic insulator, (Mott metal - insulator transition (MMITMMIT)) for values of U/WU/W of the order of U/W1U/W \geq 1 (WW is the band width) which is in agreement with numerical results for finite lattices and for infinity dimensions (D=D = \infty). These results settle down the main weakness of the spherical approximation of Nolting: a finite gap for any finite value of the interaction, i.e., an insulator for any finite value of U/WU/W. Lifetime effects are absolutely indispensable. Our scheme works better than the one of improving the narrowing band factor, B(k)B(\vec{k}), beyond the spherical approximation of Nolting.Comment: 5 pages and 5 ps figures (included

    Using the Social-Local-Mobile App for Smoking Cessation in the SmokeFreeBrain Project: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

    Background: Smoking is considered the main cause of preventable illness and early deaths worldwide. The treatment usually prescribed to people who wish to quit smoking is a multidisciplinary intervention, combining both psychological advice and pharmacological therapy, since the application of both strategies significantly increases the chance of success in a quit attempt. Objective: We present a study protocol of a 12-month randomized open-label parallel-group trial whose primary objective is to analyze the efficacy and efficiency of usual psychopharmacological therapy plus the Social-Local-Mobile app (intervention group) applied to the smoking cessation process compared with usual psychopharmacological therapy alone (control group). Methods: The target population consists of adult smokers (both male and female) attending the Smoking Cessation Unit at Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, Seville, Spain. Social-Local-Mobile is an innovative intervention based on mobile technologies and their capacity to trigger behavioral changes. The app is a complement to pharmacological therapies to quit smoking by providing personalized motivational messages, physical activity monitoring, lifestyle advice, and distractions (minigames) to help overcome cravings. Usual pharmacological therapy consists of bupropion (Zyntabac 150 mg) or varenicline (Champix 0.5 mg or 1 mg). The main outcomes will be (1) the smoking abstinence rate at 1 year measured by means of exhaled carbon monoxide and urinary cotinine tests, and (2) the result of the cost-effectiveness analysis, which will be expressed in terms of an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio. Secondary outcome measures will be (1) analysis of the safety of pharmacological therapy, (2) analysis of the health-related quality of life of patients, and (3) monitoring of healthy lifestyle and physical exercise habits. Results: Of 548 patients identified using the hospital’s electronic records system, we excluded 308 patients: 188 declined to participate and 120 did not meet the inclusion criteria. A total of 240 patients were enrolled: the control group (n=120) will receive usual psychopharmacological therapy, while the intervention group (n=120) will receive usual psychopharmacological therapy plus the So-Lo-Mo app. The project was approved for funding in June 2015. Enrollment started in October 2016 and was completed in October 2017. Data gathering was completed in November 2018, and data analysis is under way. The first results are expected to be submitted for publication in early 2019. Conclusions: Social networks and mobile technologies influence our daily lives and, therefore, may influence our smoking habits as well. As part of the SmokeFreeBrain H2020 European Commission project, this study aims at elucidating the potential role of these technologies when used as an extra aid to quit smoking

    On Black Hole Scalar Hair in Asymptotically Anti de Sitter Spacetimes

    The unexpected discovery of hairy black hole solutions in theories with scalar fields simply by considering asymptotically Anti de-Sitter, rather than asymptotically flat, boundary conditions is analyzed in a way that exhibits in a clear manner the differences between the two situations. It is shown that the trivial Schwarzschild Anti de Sitter becomes unstable in some of these situations, and the possible relevance of this fact for the ADS/CFT conjecture is pointed out.Comment: 12 pages.     A functional IL1RL1 variant regulates corticosteroid-induced sST2 expression in ulcerative colitis

    Indexación: Web of Science; Scopus.The ST2/IL33 signalling pathway has been associated with ulcerative colitis (UC). ST2, encoded by the IL1RL1 gene, is expressed as both a membrane-anchored receptor (ST2L) activated by IL33 and as a soluble receptor (sST2) with anti-inflammatory properties. In UC patients, sST2 is further increased by corticosteroid treatment; however, the glucocorticoid-mediated molecular regulation remains unknown. We therefore tested whether genetic variants in the IL1RL1 distal promoter are involved in UC and affect glucocorticoid-mediated ST2 expression. Serum ST2 levels and genetic variants in the IL1RL1 distal promoter were examined by ELISA and PCR sequencing in UC patients receiving corticosteroids. Glucocorticoid-mediated ST2 production was evaluated in intestinal mucosa cultures. Molecular regulation of glucocorticoid-mediated ST2 was assessed by RT-qPCR, ChIP assay and luciferase reporter assay. Dexamethasone effect on ST2 transcript expression was analyzed in leukocytes and related to IL1RL1 variants. Sequencing of a distal IL1RL1 promoter region demonstrated that SNPs rs6543115(C) and rs6543116(A) are associated with increased sST2 in UC patients on corticosteroids. Dexamethasone up-regulated sST2 transcription through interaction with the glucocorticoid-response element (GRE) carrying rs6543115(C) variant. Our data indicate that IL1RL1 SNPs rs6543115(C) confer susceptibility to UC and is contained in the GRE, which may modulate glucocorticoid-induced sST2 expression.https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-017-10465-
