    Pengaruh Kemampuan Memahami Bacaan, Kemampuan Memori, Dan Kemampuan Analisis Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Pokok Koloid Kelas XI Semester Genap SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi positif yang signifikan antara variabel-variabel dengan prestasi belajar pada materi koloid baik secara terpisah maupun secara serentak serta untuk mengetahui sumbangan relatif dan sumbangan efektif masing-masing variabel bebas. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 IPA SMA N 1 Ngemplak tahun pelajaran 2012/2013, dengan jumlah siswa 95 orang. Teknik pengambilan data adalah dengan tes baik dari variabel bebas maupun variabel terikat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan memahami bacaan dengan prestasi belajar pada materi koloid. (2) Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan memori dengan prestasi belajar pada materi koloid. (3) Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan analisis dengan prestasi belajar pada materi koloid. (4) terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan memahami bacaan, kemampuan memori, dan kemampuan analisis dengan prestasi belajar pada materi koloid. (5) Sumbangan relatif terhadap prestasi belajar pada materi koloid untuk variabel kemampuan memahami bacaan sebesar 6,41%, kemampuan memori sebesar 86,73%, dan kemampuan analisis sebesar 6,85%. Sedangkan sumbangan efektif untuk kemampuan memahami bacaan sebesar 5,19%, kemampuan memori sebesar 70,29%, dan kemampuan analisis sebesar 5,55%, dengan persamaan regresi linier ganda Y= 9,489+0.162 X1 + 0,824 X2 + 0,145 X3.Kata Kunci : Korelasi, Kemampuan Memahami Bacaan, Kemampuan Memori, Kemampuan Analisis, Prestas belajar koloi

    From evidence-base to practice: implementation of the Nurse Family Partnership programme in England

    The aims of this article are to highlight the issues that are relevant to the implementation of a rigorously evidence-based programme of support, the Nurse Family Partnership programme, into a national system of care. Methods used are semi-structured interviews with families in receipt of the programme in the first 10 sites, with the nursing staff, with members of the central team guiding the initiative and with other professionals. Analyses of data collected during programme delivery evaluate fidelity of delivery. The results indicate that the programme is perceived in a positive light and take-up is high, with delivery close to the stated US objectives. Issues pertaining to sustainability are highlighted - in particular, local concerns about cost set against long-term rather than immediate gains. However, local investment is predominantly strong, with creative methods being planned for the future. Overall, the study shows that within an NHS system of care it is possible to deliver a targeted evidence-based programme

    Microhabitats of benthic foraminifera - a static concept or a dynamic adaption to optimize food aquisition?

    In situ observations of microhabitat preferences of living benthic foraminifera are presented from sediments of the Norwegian-Greenland Sea, the upwelling area off northwestern Africa and the shallow-water Kiel Bight (Baltic Sea). Certain foraminiferal species (e.g.Cibicidoides wuellerstorfi andRupertina stabilis) can be regarded as strictly epibenthic species, colonizing elevated habitats that are strongly affected by bottom water hydrodynamics. Large epibenthic foraminifera (e.g.Rhabdammina abyssorum andHyperammina crassatina) colonize the sediment surface in areas where strong bottom currents occur and might have by virtue of their own size an impact on the small-scale circulation patterns of the bottom water. Motile species changing from epifaunal to infaunal habitats (e.g.Pyrgo rotalaria, Melonis barleeanum, Elphidium excavatum clavatum, Elphidium incertum, Ammotium cassis andSphaeroidina bulloides) are regarded here as highly adaptable to changes in food availability and/or changing environmental conditions. This flexible behaviour is regarded as a dynamic adaptation to optimize food acquisition, rather than a static concept leading to habitat classification of these ubiquitous rhizopods

    Combination immunotherapy and active-specific tumor cell vaccination augments anti-cancer immunity in a mouse model of gastric cancer

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Active-specific immunotherapy used as an adjuvant therapeutic strategy is rather unexplored for cancers with poorly characterized tumor antigens like gastric cancer. The aim of this study was to augment a therapeutic immune response to a low immunogenic tumor cell line derived from a spontaneous gastric tumor of a CEA424-SV40 large T antigen (CEA424-SV40 TAg) transgenic mouse.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Mice were treated with a lymphodepleting dose of cyclophosphamide prior to reconstitution with syngeneic spleen cells and vaccination with a whole tumor cell vaccine combined with GM-CSF (a treatment strategy abbreviated as LRAST). Anti-tumor activity to subcutaneous tumor challenge was examined in a prophylactic as well as a therapeutic setting and compared to corresponding controls.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>LRAST enhances tumor-specific T cell responses and efficiently inhibits growth of subsequent transplanted tumor cells. In addition, LRAST tended to slow down growth of established tumors. The improved anti-tumor immune response was accompanied by a transient decrease in the frequency and absolute number of CD4<sup>+</sup>CD25<sup>+</sup>FoxP3<sup>+ </sup>T cells (Tregs).</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Our data support the concept that whole tumor cell vaccination in a lymphodepleted and reconstituted host in combination with GM-CSF induces therapeutic tumor-specific T cells. However, the long-term efficacy of the treatment may be dampened by the recurrence of Tregs. Strategies to counteract suppressive immune mechanisms are required to further evaluate this therapeutic vaccination protocol.</p

    Mutation in Archain 1, a Subunit of COPI Coatomer Complex, Causes Diluted Coat Color and Purkinje Cell Degeneration

    Intracellular trafficking is critical for delivering molecules and organelles to their proper destinations to carry out normal cellular functions. Disruption of intracellular trafficking has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various neurodegenerative disorders. In addition, a number of genes involved in vesicle/organelle trafficking are also essential for pigmentation, and loss of those genes is often associated with mouse coat-color dilution and human hypopigmentary disorders. Hence, we postulated that screening for mouse mutants with both neurological defects and coat-color dilution will help identify additional factors associated with intracellular trafficking in neuronal cells. In this study, we characterized a mouse mutant with a unique N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU)–induced mutation, named nur17. nur17 mutant mice exhibit both coat-color dilution and ataxia due to Purkinje cell degeneration in the cerebellum. By positional cloning, we identified that the nur17 mouse carries a T-to-C missense mutation in archain 1 (Arcn1) gene which encodes the δ subunit of the coat protein I (COPI) complex required for intracellular trafficking. Consistent with this function, we found that intracellular trafficking is disrupted in nur17 melanocytes. Moreover, the nur17 mutation leads to common characteristics of neurodegenerative disorders such as abnormal protein accumulation, ER stress, and neurofibrillary tangles. Our study documents for the first time the physiological consequences of the impairment of the ARCN1 function in the whole animal and demonstrates a direct association between ARCN1 and neurodegeneration
