Dynamics of the Free Surface of a Conducting Liquid in a Near-Critical Electric Field
Near-critical behavior of the free surface of an ideally conducting liquid in
an external electric field is considered. Based on an analysis of three-wave
processes using the method of integral estimations, sufficient criteria for
hard instability of a planar surface are formulated. It is shown that the
higher-order nonlinearities do not saturate the instability, for which reason
the growth of disturbances has an explosive character.Comment: 19 page
Polyhedral Analysis using Parametric Objectives
The abstract domain of polyhedra lies at the heart of many program analysis techniques. However, its operations can be expensive, precluding their application to polyhedra that involve many variables. This paper describes a new approach to computing polyhedral domain operations. The core of this approach is an algorithm to calculate variable elimination (projection) based on parametric linear programming. The algorithm enumerates only non-redundant inequalities of the projection space, hence permits anytime approximation of the output
Assessing socio-economic damage caused by coxarthrosis in the population
Background. About 40 % of patients diagnosed with coxarthrosis annually seek medical help and receive social support due to this disease. Increased use of an expensive surgery for treatment of coxarthrosis and projected growth of its prevalence in the population determine the relevance of socio-economic analysis. The aim of the study. To assess the value and structure of economic damage caused by the delivering health and social care to patients with coxarthrosis at the state level of the Russian Federation. Methods. To assess economic damage, we used the average annual number of various categories of patients and disabled people with coxarthrosis in the Irkutsk region for 2008β2017. Three main categories were identified: patients who visited the outpatientsβ clinic; patients with total hip replacement; disabled people due to coxarthrosis. For each category, we calculated weighted average damage per Β 1 Β conventional patient, taking into account direct and indirect costs and subsequent multiplication by the average annual number of individual categories of patients. Calculations were performed in 2017 prices. Results. The average annual socio-economic damage from coxarthrosis amounted to 1.39 (1.34Γ·1.43) billion rubles or 0.1 % of the gross regional product. The most of the damage (64.4 %) were indirect costs associated with disability due to coxarthrosis, 22.2 Β % of the total amount were the costs of hip replacement surgery, 13.4 % were the costs of outpatient visits. Indirect economic losses due to disability in patients of working age were 4.2 times higher than losses due to disability of oldage pensioners. Conclusion. The results of the study confirm the economic feasibility of surgical treatment of coxarthrosis, especially in patients of working age

All countries now share a long-term vision of the importance of implementing technology development and transfer to improve climate resilience and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Metallurgical enterprises play a significant role in achieving this goal, since they produce a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. In connection with the changing operating conditions and changing markets of presence, the issues of ensuring their investment attractiveness are acquiring obvious importance in the framework of the finances of Russian metallurgical companies. The object of the study is an assessment of the investment attractiveness of Russian metallurgical companies. The subject of the study is the relationship between the investment attractiveness of metallurgical companies and the results of their environmental protection activities. The purpose of this study is to identify the interdependence of environmental metrics and the investment attractiveness of steel companies. The methodological basis is a regression analysis of the impact of environmental metrics on the investment attractiveness of metallurgical companies. The authors chose the following indicators of environmental performance: CO2 emissions, energy consumption, water recycling, waste. To assess the investment attractiveness of metallurgical companies, the following indicators were used: revenue, EBITDA, investment in R&D. The authors concluded that the environmental activities of companies have a significant impact on their investment attractiveness. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying the interdependence of environmental protection activities and the investment attractiveness of Russian metallurgy companies. The results of the study can be used by both Russian steel companies and institutional investors as part of the development of an investment strategy.Π Π½Π°ΡΡΠΎΡΡΠ΅Π΅ Π²ΡΠ΅ΠΌΡ Π²ΡΠ΅ ΡΡΡΠ°Π½Ρ ΡΠ°Π·Π΄Π΅Π»ΡΡΡ Π΄ΠΎΠ»Π³ΠΎΡΡΠΎΡΠ½ΠΎΠ΅ Π²ΠΈΠ΄Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ Π²Π°ΠΆΠ½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ ΡΠ΅Π°Π»ΠΈΠ·Π°ΡΠΈΠΈ ΡΠ°Π·ΡΠ°Π±ΠΎΡΠΊΠΈ ΠΈ ΠΏΠ΅ΡΠ΅Π΄Π°ΡΠΈ ΡΠ΅Ρ

The clinical aspects ot the sulphonylurea compounds from the position of the cardioprotective approach at patient with type 2 diabetes, using glucocardiomonitoring
BACKGRAUND: Now the trend of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) management from glucocentric to cardioprotective approach take place, and it especially relevant for the multiple group of patients with T2DM using Sulphonylurea (SU). Meanwhile the synchronized glucocardiomonitoring allowed to providing the accurate information about the cardiometabolic status of patients with T2DM.AIMS: Using the professional glucocardiomonitoring for T2DM-SU patients to investigate the relation between the glycemic variability, integral glycemic parameters and proarrhythmogenic cardiovascular events and the long-term cardiovascular outcomes.MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the observational (randomised for inclusion of patients) controlled trial the SU-patients with the T2DM duration 9,8Β±6,6 years were included, whom the professional glucocardiomonitoring had been made during 5 days and then the fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events had been investigated during 5 years.Β RESULTS: From 283 patients with T2DM 154 patients (the basic group) used gliclazide (original drug Diabeton MB), 129Β patients (the control group) used glibenclamide. The relation between the rising of the glycemic variability and cardiovascular events (the prolongation QT interval, the ST depression (dST), ventricular arrhythmias (VAs)) were demonstrated. At theΒ basic and the control groups the coefficient of variation (CV) was 23,0Β±8,1 and 30,1Β±10,7% respectively (p<0,001), TIR-HYPOΒ β 0,8Β±2,4 and 3,5Β±5,4% (p<0,001), the number of glycemia differences > 4 mmol/L/hr β 2,3Β±3,6 and 3,5Β±4,3 (p=0,010), theΒ minimal glycemia level β 4,6Β±1,0 and 3,9Β±1,4 mmol/L (p=0,001). The followed differences of cardiovascular parameters were determined: QTc β 412Β±24 and 423Β±28 ms (p=0,001), dST β 0,052 [0; 0,275] and 0,109 [0; 0,422] (ratio, p=0,012), VAsΒ β 2,2 [0; 5,9] and 3,5 [0; 8,3] (cases/pts, p=0,008). The long-term cardiovascular outcomes from the gliclazide and glibenclamide therapy (cases/100 pts-years): the total and cardiovascular death β 0,12 [0; 1,74] and 0,76 [0; 4,62] (p=0,062), cardiovascular death -0,12 [0; 1,74] and 0,62 [0; 4,08] (p=0,122), myocardial infarction β 1,56 [0; 6,94] and 2,00 [0; 8,02] (p=0,193), stroke β 0,78 [0; 4,66] and 0,76 [0; 4,62] (p=0,169), chronic heart failure β 0,52 [0; 3,72] and 1,24 [0; 6,06] (p=0,095), MACEΒ β 2,46 [0; 10,1] ΠΈ 2,62 [0; 9,38] (p=0,095), severe hypoglycemia at home β 2,46 [0; 9,12] ΠΈ 7,24 [0; 16,68] (p<0,001).CONCLUSIONS: It was demonstrated that the gliclazide (original drug Diabeton MB) administration is characterized with the better quality of glycemia control, the lower glycemic variability, the lower frequency of the SU-associated hypoglycemia, dST, VAs, the lower prolongation QTc interval. The implementation of the synchronized glucocardiomonitoring is necessary for minimization of the cardiovascular T2DM-complications and for the choice of the personalize

a direct encoding for nnc polyhedra
We present an alternative Double Description representation for the domain of NNC (not necessarily closed) polyhedra, together with the corresponding Chernikova-like conversion procedure. The representation uses no slack variable at all and provides a solution to a few technical issues caused by the encoding of an NNC polyhedron as a closed polyhedron in a higher dimension space. A preliminary experimental evaluation shows that the new conversion algorithm is able to achieve significant efficiency improvements
