    Spherical Tuples of Hilbert Space Operators

    We introduce and study a class of operator tuples in complex Hilbert spaces, which we call spherical tuples. In particular, we characterize spherical multi-shifts, and more generally, multiplication tuples on RKHS. We further use these characterizations to describe various spectral parts including the Taylor spectrum. We also find a criterion for the Schatten SpS_p-class membership of cross-commutators of spherical mm-shifts. We show, in particular, that cross-commutators of non-compact spherical mm-shifts cannot belong to SpS_p for pmp \le m. We specialize our results to some well-studied classes of multi-shifts. We prove that the cross-commutators of a spherical joint mm-shift, which is a qq-isometry or a 22-expansion, belongs to SpS_p if and only if p>mp > m. We further give an example of a spherical jointly hyponormal 22-shift, for which the cross-commutators are compact but not in SpS_p for any p<p <\infty.Comment: a version close to final on

    Stability and Equilibrium Analysis of Laneless Traffic with Local Control Laws

    In this paper, a new model for traffic on roads with multiple lanes is developed, where the vehicles do not adhere to a lane discipline. Assuming identical vehicles, the dynamics is split along two independent directions: the Y-axis representing the direction of motion and the X-axis representing the lateral or the direction perpendicular to the direction of motion. Different influence graphs are used to model the interaction between the vehicles in these two directions. The instantaneous accelerations of each car, in both X and Y directions, are functions of the measurements from the neighbouring cars according to these influence graphs. The stability and equilibrium spacings of the car formation is analyzed for usual traffic situations such as steady flow, obstacles, lane changing and rogue drivers arbitrarily changing positions inside the formation. Conditions are derived under which the formation maintains stability and the desired intercar spacing for each of these traffic events.     Proximate analysis and mineral characterization of Barringtonia species

    The study about material contained in Barringtonia seeds were conducted at the first time using the standard procedure of AOAC. For present work, two species of Barringtonia were selected viz., B. acutangula and B. racemosa . The proximate composition and mineral constituents of Barringtonia seeds were evaluated. The B. acutangula seeds contained ash 4.24%, crude protein 9.23%, crude lipids 0.68%, crude fibre13.54% and carbohydrates 66.17%. While in seeds of B. racemosa, ash 4.02%, crude protein 12.09%, crude lipids 0.75%, crude fibre15.18% and carbohydrates: 64.67% were observed. Both the species have a high energy value on dry basis. Comparing the mineral content with recommended dietary allowances (RDA), the results indicated that seeds of B. acutangula fruits could be a good supplement for some nutrients such as calcium, fibre and carbohydrates, whereas the B. racemosa seeds could be a good supplement for some nutrients such as fibre, potassium, zinc and carbohydrates. The seeds of Barringtonia could be promoted as a carbohydrate supplement. Hence, this piece of work acclaims the potential of Barringtonia species indicating its proximate and mineral composition

    Formulation of Furosemide Oral Disintegrating Tablets Using Natural and Synthetic Superdisintegrants by SeDeM Expert Design System

    SeDeM design expert technique used to evaluate the risks of poor flow of pharmaceutical powders under preformulation studies which reveals direct compression suitability and prepare robust composition of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and excipient in tablets formulation. The purpose of this study was to develop oral disintegrating tablets of Furosemide using different concentration of natural and synthetic superdisintegrants by means of SeDeM design technique. Oral disintegrating tablets (ODT) of Furosemide were prepared by direct compression technique using isolated banana powder and croscarmellose sodium (Ac-di-sol) together with microcrystalline cellulose as superdisintegrants. SeDeM design was performed to check suitability and deficient of excipients and drug for optimized composition derived based on IPP value. These tablets were evaluated for hardness, friability, drug content, weight variation, wetting time and in-vitro dissolution. All the formulations showed low weight variation with dispersion time less than 173.5±0.70 seconds and rapid in-vitro dissolution. The drug content of all the formulations was within the acceptable limits. Lubricated blend composition of F4 found average radius value 5.24, 0.66 and 5.509 for IGC, IP and IPP respectively, compressed tablet shown good physical properties. The optimized formulation F4 showed good release profile with 99.25 percentage drug release compared to other trial batches. It was concluded that natural superdisintegrant (banana powder) showed better disintegrating property than synthetic super disintegrant (Ac-di-sol) in the formulations of ODTs.     Survey on common practice in management of preeclampsia by obstetricians

    Background: Approximately 72,000 pregnant women all over the world die every year due to direct or indirect complications related to eclampsia and severe preeclampsia. Incidence of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy in India is found to be 10.08% as per the data collected by the National Eclampsia Registry (NER). Here we present the results of a survey conducted among obstetricians in India to know the common practices in the management of pre-eclampsia followed in our country.Methods: Observational study of survey which was conducted for the period of 1 month from 22nd May 2020 to 22nd June 2020. Questionnaire was prepared on surveyheart.com and sent to obstetricians via Social media platforms to the members of FOGSI. all answers 'collected' and results were prepared from given answers. The survey was answered online by 289 obstetricians.Results: For mild to moderate pre-eclampsia Labetalol is still first line antihypertensive agent being used by many of the obstetricians. In our study also we found out Tab Labetalol 100mg BD is the most preferred type (278, 96.19%) of first line anti-hypertensive in cases of pre-eclampsia followed by Cap Nifedipine 5mg QID and Tab Amlodipine 5mg OD respectively.Conclusions: Comprehensive educational efforts and skill building modules are need of hour to keep every practicing obstetrician regarding recent advances in standard practice protocols.With close monitoring of all cases and well selected anti-hypertensive treatment, it is possible to achieve favourable outcomes for the mother and the baby

    Influence of Waterlogging on Carbohydrate Metabolism in Ragi and Rice Roots

    Effect of different durations of waterlogging (4, 8 and 12 days) stress on carbohydrate status and activities of some related enzymes in ragi and rice roots was studied. In both ragi and rice roots there was decrease in starch and total sugar content in response to waterlogging conditions. Activity of α amylase was decrease in ragi roots while opposite trend was noticed in case of rice roots. The activity of pyruvate kinase was markedly increased due to 4, 8 and 12 days waterlogging in ragi roots while such increase was noticed in rice roots due to 12 days stress. Treatment of waterlogging caused enhancement in the activity of alkaline inorganic pyrophosphatase in the roots of both ragi and rice

    Sentiment analysis is a type of natural language processing for tracking the mood of the public about a particular product or a topic and is useful in several ways. Polarity shift is the most classical task which aims at classifying the reviews either positive or negative. But in many cases, in addition to the positive and negative reviews, there still many neutral reviews exist. However, the performance sometimes limited due to the fundamental deficiencies in handling the polarity shift problem. We propose an Improvised Dual Sentiment Analysis (IDSA) model to address this problem for sentiment classification. We first propose a novel data expansion technique by creating sentiment-reversed review for each training and test review. We develop a corpus based method to construct a pseudo-antonym dictionary. It removes DSA’s dependency on an external antonym dictionary for review reversion. We conduct a range of experiments and the results demonstrates the effectiveness of DSA in addressing the polarity shift in sentiment classification.
