Scale Dependence of Twist-3 Quark-Gluon Operators for Single Spin Asymmetries

We derive the scale dependence of twist-3 quark-gluon operators, or ETQS matrix elements, at one-loop. These operators are used to factorize transverse single spin asymmetries, which are studied intensively both in experiment and theory. The scale dependence of two special cases are particularly interesting. One is of soft-gluon-pole matrix elements, another is of soft-quark-pole matrix elements. From our results the evolutions in the two cases can be obtained. A comparison with existing results of soft-gluon-pole matrix elements is made.Comment: typo in Eq.(10) corrected, references adde

Gluon saturation: survival probability for leading neutrons in DIS

In this paper we discuss the example of one rapidity gap process: the inclusive cross sections of the leading neutrons in deep inelastic scattering with protons (DIS). The equations for this process are proposed and solved, giving the example of theoretical calculation of the survival probability for one rapidity gap processes. It turns out that the value of the survival probability is small and it decreases with energyComment: 22pp, 15 figures in eps file

Double spin asymmetry A_{LT} in direct photon production

    Get PDF
We study the longitudinal-transverse double spin asymmetry ALTA_{LT} for direct photon production in nucleon-nucleon scattering by using the collinear twist-3 approach. This asymmetry, which, for instance, could be measured at RHIC, contains a complete set of collinear twist-3 correlation functions in a transversely polarized nucleon.Comment: 9 pages, 1 figur
