Search for New Physics in e-e- Scattering
Considering the physics potential of an e-e- collider in the TeV energy
range, we indicate a few interesting examples for exotic processes and discuss
the standard model backgrounds. Focussing on pair production of weak gauge
bosons, we report some illustrative predictions.Comment: 11 LaTeX pages; axodraw.sty and 6 figures included as an uuencoded

Analysis of MERCATOR data Part I: variable B stars
We re-classified 31 variable B stars which were observed more than 50 times
in the Geneva photometric system with the P7 photometer attached to the
MERCATOR telescope (La Palma) during its first 3 years of scientific
observations. HD89688 is a possible beta Cephei/slowly pulsating B star hybrid
and the main mode of the COROT target HD180642 shows non-linear effects. The
Maia candidates are re-classified as either ellipsoidal variables or spotted
stars. Although the mode identification is still ongoing, all the
well-identified modes so far have a degree l = 0, 1 or 2.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures. To appear in: Proceedings of JENAM 2005 'Distant

Highlights from the 16th International Society for Computational Biology Student Council Symposium 2020.
In this meeting overview, we summarise the scientific program and organisation of the 16th International Society for Computational Biology Student Council Symposium in 2020 (ISCB SCS2020). This symposium was the first virtual edition in an uninterrupted series of symposia that has been going on for 15 years, aiming to unite computational biology students and early career researchers across the globe. Vector boson pair production in e-e- collisions with polarized beams
The -boson pair production in collisions with polarized beams is
investigated. The helicity amplitudes are derived for general couplings and the
conditions for a good high-energy behaviour of the cross-section are given. The
results are applied to the heavy vector boson production in the context of the
left-right symmetric model. The Ward identities and the equivalence theorem are
also discussed.Comment: 17 pages+ 8 figures(uuencoded compressed ps-file appended), HU-SEFT R

Pyrolysis of organic side stream materials for the production of biochar as an amendment in green roofs: Characterization and field experiments
Green roofs offer a solution to worldwide problems in cities like: the urban heat island effect, floods and the loss of rural regions. Nevertheless, the widespread application of green roofs still faces some serious challenges, e.g. an excessive amount of drainage water, an excess of nutrients in this water, and plant mortality in periods of severe drought. Also, the production process of the components of these substrates, such as expanded clay, is not environmentally and energy-friendly. Biochar amendment in green roof substrates can help to overcome these problems because of its valuable properties like a high nutrient content, high waterholding capacity (WHC), low density and its self-sustaining production process.
In this research, biochar is produced from six different side streams in a pilot-scale rotating kiln carbonization reactor (kg/hour input). These side streams consists out of: MDF, date palm, coffee skins, tree bark, olive stones and a waste wood mix. The produced biochars are characterized with multiple physico-chemical analyses like biochar yield, elemental composition, surface functional groups, morphology, WHC, cation exchange capacity and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH’s). Furthermore, a techno-economical analysis is performed on the large-scale production of these biochars.
Small scale (0,25 m2) and field experiments (2.5 m2) with biochar incorporated in commercially available green roof substrates in the temperate climate of the Netherlands and Belgium examine whether biochar can offer a solution to the described problems. Based on the analyses of the biochar, in particular the PAH’s and elemental composition, and the small scale growth experiments, two different biochars made from the waste wood mix and tree bark in concentrations of 1 and 5 % are selected for the field experiments.
Growth of Sedum plants is monitored with digital imaging processing over a period of several months, starting from November 2018. Several chemical and physical parameters are monitored and linked to the properties of the biochar incorporated substrate like pH, conductivity, nutrient leaching and waterholding capacity
Charginos and Neutralinos Production at 3-3-1 Supersymmetric Model in Scattering
The goal of this article is to derive the Feynman rules involving charginos,
neutralinos, double charged gauge bosons and sleptons in a 3-3-1 supersymmetric
model. Using these Feynman rules we will calculate the production of a double
charged chargino with a neutralino and also the production of a pair of single
charged charginos, both in an electron- electron process.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figures, 2 table
Realistic constraints on the doubly charged bilepton couplings from Bhabha scattering with LEP data
Upper limits on doubly charged bilepton couplings and masses are extracted
from LEP data for Bhabha scattering at energy range GeV
using standard model program ZFITTER which calculates radiative corrections. We
find that at 95% C.L. for scalar and
vector bileptons.Comment: 5 pages, 1 EPS figur
Supersymmetric Left-Right Model and its Tests in Linear Colliders
We investigate phenomenological implications of a supersymmetric left-right
model based on gauge symmetry
testable in the next generation linear colliders. We concentrate in particular
on the doubly charged triplet higgsino , which we find
very suitable for experimental search. We estimate its production rate in
, , and collisions and consider its
subsequent decays. These processes have a clear discovery signature with a very
low background from other processes.Comment: 23 pages + 11 pages of figures (available on request), HU-SEFT R

Selectron Studies at e-e- and e+e- Colliders
Selectrons may be studied in both e-e- and e+e- collisions at future linear
colliders. Relative to e+e-, the e-e- mode benefits from negligible backgrounds
and \beta threshold behavior for identical selectron pair production, but
suffers from luminosity degradation and increased initial state radiation and
beamstrahlung. We include all of these effects and compare the potential for
selectron mass measurements in the two modes. The virtues of the e-e- collider
far outweigh its disadvantages. In particular, the selectron mass may be
measured to 100 MeV with a total integrated luminosity of 1 fb^-1, while more
than 100 fb^-1 is required in e+e- collisions for similar precision.Comment: 16 pages, 11 figure
