Aquestes localitats representen el retrobament en gran quantitat d'una espècie de flora que fins fa molt poc es considerava extingida al territori català i que mai no havia estat indicada a la conca de l'Ebre. La descoberta d'aquests nous poblaments és, tant per la seua freqüència com per la seua abundància, una novetat remarcable en el context català i ibèric.In the summer of 2012 several subpopulations of Spirodela polyrhiza (L.) Schleid. were detected in the last section of the Ebro river. These populations represent the rediscovery, in large quantities, of a species of flora believed until recently to be extinct throughout Catalonia and never noticed before in the Ebro basin. The finding of these new populations is, both for its frequency and its abundance, noteworthy within the Catalan and Iberian context

    Numerical simulations of the flow and aerosol dispersion in a violent expiratory event: Outcomes of the "2022 International Computational Fluid Dynamics Challenge on violent expiratory events"

    This paper presents and discusses the results of the "2022 International Computational Fluid Dynamics Challenge on violent expiratory events" aimed at assessing the ability of different computational codes and turbulence models to reproduce the flow generated by a rapid prototypical exhalation and the dispersion of the aerosol cloud it produces. Given a common flow configuration, a total of seven research teams from different countries have performed a total of eleven numerical simulations of the flow dispersion by solving the Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) or using the Large-Eddy Simulations (LES) or hybrid (URANS-LES) techniques. The results of each team have been compared with each other and assessed against a Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of the exact same flow. The DNS results are used as reference solution to determine the deviation of each modeling approach. The dispersion of both evaporative and non-evaporative particle clouds has been considered in twelve simulations using URANS and LES. Most of the models predict reasonably well the shape and the horizontal and vertical ranges of the buoyant thermal cloud generated by the warm exhalation into an initially quiescent colder ambient. However, the vertical turbulent mixing is generally underpredicted, especially by the URANS-based simulations, independently of the specific turbulence model used (and only to a lesser extent by LES).     On the observation of magnetic events on broad-band seismometers

    The objective of this contribution is to get new insights into the effects of magnetic field variations of natural and anthropogenic origin on broad-band seismic stations. Regarding natural sources of magnetic perturbations, we have investigated if the Sudden Storm Commencements (SSC) cataloged during the 24th solar cycle (2008-2019) can be systematically identified in broad-band seismic stations distributed worldwide. The results show that the 23 SSC events with a mean amplitude above 30 nT and most of those with lower energy but still clearly identified in the magnetometer detection network can be observed at broad-band stations' network using a simple low-pass filter. Although the preliminary impulse of those signals is usually stronger at stations located at high latitudes, major SSC are observed at seismic stations distributed worldwide. Regarding anthropogenic sources, we focus on the short period seismic signals recorded in urban environments which are correlated with the activity of the railway transportation system. We have analyzed collocated measurements of electric field and seismic signals within Barcelona, evidencing that significant changes in the electric field following the activity of the transportation systems can be attributed to leakage currents transmitted to the soil by trains. During space weather events, electric currents in the magnetosphere and ionosphere experience large variations inducing telluric currents near the Earth surface, which in turn generate a secondary magnetic field. In the case of underground trains, leakage currents are transmitted to the soil, which in turn can result in local variations in the magnetic field. The observed signals in modern seismometers can be related to the reaction of the suspension springs to these magnetic field variations or to the effect of the magnetic field variations on the force transducers used to keep the mass fixed

    La formación por competencias en la educación superior se beneficia de una mayor implicación de los contextos profesionales reales. La experiencia y el ejercicio de la profesión permiten el desarrollo de un dominio práctico, la toma de decisiones y la movilización de recursos internos y externos para la resolución de situaciones profesionales características. La formación dual como intensificación del tiempo formativo en escenarios reales y de integración de actividades académicas y profesionales es todavía en nuestro país minoritaria. Nuestra revisión se centra en los aspectos pedagógicos y organizativos fundamentales en la formación dual. Para la formación de los futuros docentes entendemos clave la actividad, no solamente en la universidad y en la escuela, sino también en una interacción de ambas productiva.The presence of real professional contexts in college benefits the education based in competences. Experiencing and exercising the profession allows an early development of practical capabilities, decision-making and resource mobilization, endowing students to solve determinate professional situations. The dual education as an intensification of the formative time in real spaces and the integration of academic and professional duties continues being a minority thing in our country. This text presents some concepts and principles considered elemental in teacher dual training, both in their pedagogical as in their organizational dimension. For the training of future teachers we consider key their activity not only in the university but also in the school, creating a productive interaction
