    Este estudio pretende conocer la motivación que impulsa a las adolescentes, ya madres, a integrarse y participar en las redes sociales, específicamente en la red: “tuenti” como reducto de evasión actual más frecuentado y conocido por los adolescentes españoles. En definitiva, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la influencia que ejerce la red sobre la vida de estas adolescentes, intentando verificar si gracias a estas redes, las adolescentes ya madres pueden aprender, colaborar y apoyarse. Esta investigación no sólo presenta una breve descripción de la realidad de estas madres prematuras en la red social sino que nos otorga datos para poder comparar sus comportamientos con los suyos propios cuando aún eran embarazadas. Para poder realizar esta comparación nos remitimos a los resultados obtenidos en la investigación presentada con anterioridad cuando estas adolescentes estaban embarazadas.This study tries to know the motivation of the teenagers already mothers to integrate and inform in the social networks, specifically in the network: “Tuenti“ as redoubt of current evasion more frequented and known by the Spanish teenagers. Definitively, this investigation tries analyzing the influence that exercises the network on the life of these teenagers, trying to check if thanks to these networks, the teenagers already mothers can learn, to collaborate and to rest mutually. This investigation not only presents a brief description of the reality of these premature mothers in the social network but it grants information to us to be able to compare his behaviors with own theirs when still they were embarrassed. To be able to realize this comparison we send ourselves results in the presented investigation previously when these teenagers were pregnant

    En un primer nivel de análisis, se realiza una radiografía del estado de la cuestión de los 28 estados miembros de la UE en lo que se refiere a aspectos relacionados con la transposición de la Directiva Europea de obras huérfanas (Directiva 2012/28/UE del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 25 de octubre de 2012, sobre ciertos usos autorizados de las obras huérfanas). En un segundo nivel de análisis, se caracterizan e identifican (como foco principal de la investigación) los elementos relacionados con las obras huérfanas directamente vinculados con el ámbito de la Documentación, es decir, aquellos relacionados con la existencia de pautas y procedimientos vinculados al planteamiento, realización y registro de expedientes de búsquedas diligentes en bases de datos y que hayan sido definidos por parte de los 28 estados miembros analizados en el estudio

    Clustering patterns of physical activity, sedentary and dietary behavior among European adolescents: The HELENA study.

    Evidence suggests possible synergetic effects of multiple lifestyle behaviors on health risks like obesity and other health outcomes. A better insight in the clustering of those behaviors, could help to identify groups who are at risk in developing chronic diseases. This study examines the prevalence and clustering of physical activity, sedentary and dietary patterns among European adolescents and investigates if the identified clusters could be characterized by socio-demographic factors. METHODS: The study comprised a total of 2084 adolescents (45.6% male), from eight European cities participating in the HELENA (Healthy Lifestyle in Europe by Nutrition in Adolescence) study. Physical activity and sedentary behavior were measured using self-reported questionnaires and diet quality was assessed based on dietary recall. Based on the results of those three indices, cluster analyses were performed. To identify gender differences and associations with socio-demographic variables, chi-square tests were executed. RESULTS: Five stable and meaningful clusters were found. Only 18% of the adolescents showed healthy and 21% unhealthy scores on all three included indices. Males were highly presented in the cluster with high levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and low quality diets. The clusters with low levels of MVPA and high quality diets comprised more female adolescents. Adolescents with low educated parents had diets of lower quality and spent more time in sedentary activities. In addition, the clusters with high levels of MVPA comprised more adolescents of the younger age category. CONCLUSION: In order to develop effective primary prevention strategies, it would be important to consider multiple health indices when identifying high risk groups.Peer Reviewe

    Safety and preliminary efficacy on cognitive performance and adaptive functionality of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in children with Down syndrome. A randomized phase Ib clinical trial (PERSEUS study)

    Purpose: Although some caregivers are using epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) off label in hopes of improving cognition in young adults with Down syndrome (DS), nothing is known about its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in the DS pediatric population. We aimed to evaluate safety and tolerability of a dietary supplement containing EGCG and if EGCG improves cognitive and functional performance. Methods: A total of 73 children with DS (aged 6-12 years) were randomized. Participants received 0.5% EGCG (10 mg/kg daily dose) or placebo for 6 months with 3 months follow up after treatment discontinuation. Results: In total, 72 children were treated and 66 completed the study. A total of 38 participants were included in the EGCG group and 35 in the placebo group. Of 72 treated participants, 62 (86%) had 229 treatment-emergent adverse events (AEs). Of 37 participants in the EGCG group, 13 (35%) had 18 drug-related treatment-emergent AEs and 12 of 35 (34%) from the placebo group had 22 events. In the EGCG group, neither severe AEs nor increase in the incidence of AEs related to safety biomarkers were observed. Cognition and functionality were not improved compared with placebo. Secondary efficacy outcomes in girls point to a need for future work. Conclusion: The use of EGCG is safe and well-tolerated in children with DS, but efficacy results do not support its use in this population. (C) 2022 The Authors.     [EN] Innocampus Explora aims to show the students of the Burjassot-Paterna campus of the Universitat de València how the different scientific degrees are interrelated. To do this we propose activities in which students and teachers work together to cover the interdisciplinary nature of science, both in everyday and professional issues. Throughout this course the activities developed relate to new ways to communicate science. With the development of this project we contribute to a transversal quality education for all the participating students.[ES] Innocampus Explora tiene por objetivo mostrar a los estudiantes del campus de Burjassot-Paterna de la Universitat de València cómo los diferentes grados científicos están interrelacionados.     [ES] Presentamos las actividades del proyecto de innovación Innocampus Explora desarrollado en el campus de Burjassot-Paterna de la Universitat de València y cuyo objetivo principal es mostrar la interrelación existente entre los diferentes grados científicos y técnicos del campus. En la presente anualidad, el equipo de trabajo integrado por estudiantes y profesores de todos las facultades y escuelas del campus de Burjassot-Paterna, ha desarrollado actividades en torno a la problemática medioambiental. Una visión transversal e interdisciplinar de los problemas de los usos del plástico y de la energía nuclear que enlaza con varios de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) dictados por Naciones Unidas. Con el desarrollo de este proyecto contribuimos a una formación transversal de calidad para todos los estudiantes participantes.[EN] We present the activities of the Innocampus Explora innovation project developed on the Burjassot-Paterna campus of the Universitat de València and whose main objective is to show the interrelation between the different scientific and technical degrees on campus.     Mapping density, diversity and species-richness of the Amazon tree flora

    Using 2.046 botanically-inventoried tree plots across the largest tropical forest on Earth, we mapped tree species-diversity and tree species-richness at 0.1-degree resolution, and investigated drivers for diversity and richness. Using only location, stratified by forest type, as predictor, our spatial model, to the best of our knowledge, provides the most accurate map of tree diversity in Amazonia to date, explaining approximately 70% of the tree diversity and species-richness. Large soil-forest combinations determine a significant percentage of the variation in tree species-richness and tree alpha-diversity in Amazonian forest-plots. We suggest that the size and fragmentation of these systems drive their large-scale diversity patterns and hence local diversity. A model not using location but cumulative water deficit, tree density, and temperature seasonality explains 47% of the tree species-richness in the terra-firme forest in Amazonia. Over large areas across Amazonia, residuals of this relationship are small and poorly spatially structured, suggesting that much of the residual variation may be local. The Guyana Shield area has consistently negative residuals, showing that this area has lower tree species-richness than expected by our models. We provide extensive plot meta-data, including tree density, tree alpha-diversity and tree species-richness results and gridded maps at 0.1-degree resolution
