Shared commitments towards social resilience in populations vulnerable to extreme weather conditions

The processes involved in moving from vulnerability to resilience imply shared commitments between community and social actors. This paper documents such a shared experience among groups of high school learners from three cities in Veracruz state, Mexico, which have been periodically affected by extreme weather conditions. Earlier research carried out with high school learners and teachers analysed the resilience that the community demonstrated while coping with, and recovering from, an environmental contingency. In this initial research stage, we obtained information from official sources, and from questionnaires and interviews on the physical and social elements that impact the learners’ vulnerability. In addition, we identified the participants’ interest in being involved in processes to build resilient communities. With all this information, it was then possible to make progress in the development of strategies towards building the relevant capacities in those high school learners interested in becoming change agents in their own communities. The research also contributed to the creation of intra-community contingency support networks in the three municipalities participating in the study. In addition, high school learners and teachers became interested in initiating environmental protection activities and in taking on the commitment to communicate their concerns to decision-makers in their own communities to try and influence public policy. Accordingly, these actions and shared commitments can be seen to foster community and social resilience

Saberes docentes durante el acompañamiento en la titulación de una escuela Normal

En el presente trabajo se muestran resultados parciales de una investigación doctoral realizada con docentes de la Benemérita Escuela Normal Veracruzana, ubicada en Xalapa, Veracruz, México, en el periodo escolar 2020-2021, sobre el acompañamiento en los procesos de titulación. El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar las prácticas educativas de acompañamiento durante las tutorías impartidas al estudiante en la titulación, para formular estrategias educativas en la formación inicial del profesorado en la investigación educativa. La población fue de 21 docentes de la Licenciatura en Educación Primaria y Preescolar; con enfoque cualitativo mediante la entrevista semiestructurada, narrativa autobiográfica y grupo focal. Los resultados aquí presentados se refieren a las reflexiones realizadas en referencia a sus saberes docentes manifestados en este proceso

El cambio climático en el bachillerato : aportes pedagógicos para su abordaje

Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad del Gobierno de España, en el marco del VI Programa Nacional 2016-18La investigación presentada tiene como propósito conocer elementos de las representaciones sociales (RS) sobre cambio climático (CC) en estudiantes de bachillerato general y tecnológico del estado de Veracruz, y formular aportaciones pedagógicas orientadas a promover acciones ecociudadanas en estudiantes de este nivel. Se ha realizado una investigación cuantitativa con una muestra de 858 estudiantes, a través de un cuestionario demoscópico conformado por 43 preguntas cerradas. La hipótesis de investigación es: si no existe diferencia significativa entre las RS sobre CC en los dos grupos de estudio, cabe pensar que es la cultura común la que configura en mayor medida dicha RS. Los resultados muestran que este colectivo construye una RS del CC limitada a su dimensión biofísica con presencia de conceptos difusos, sin identificarse diferencias significativas entre las RS de los grupos.This research aims to know the elements of the social representations (SR) on climate change (CC) in students of general (BG) and technological (BT) high school of the state of Veracruz, and make pedagogical contributions oriented to promote eco-citizen actions in students of this level. A quantitative investigation was carried out with a sample of 858 students, through a demographic questionnaire of 43 closed questions. The research hypothesis is: if there is no significant difference between the SRs on CC in the two study groups, it is possible to think that it is the common culture that configures this SR to a greater extent. The results show that this group builds a SR of the CC limited to its biophysical dimension with the presence of diffuse concepts, without identifying significant differences between the SRs of the groups

El abordaje temprano y tratamiento mixto en el manejo de la esquizofrenia

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder characterized by substantive alteration of mental functioning and effects on the social functionality of affected individuals. Objective: Provide recommendations based on the best available evidence for early approach, pharmacological and psychosocial treatment. Methods: An Evidence-based Clinical Practice Guide (GPC-BE) was developed, adapted through a systematic, rigorous, transparent process, by a working group composed of methodologists and psychiatrists who are experts in the management of schizophrenia. The guide includes four clinical questions and recommendations, we searched for guides that respond to the prioritized topic, guides were pre-selected and evaluated using the “Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II” (AGREE-II) instrument, the one with the best methodological quality was chosen for adaptation. The systematic search for evidence for each clinical question was performed in multiple databases: MEDLINE / Ovid, EMBASE / Ovid, EMB reviews / Ovid. The selection and analysis of evidence was carried out using clinical pairs and methodologists, the recommendations were prepared using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology. Results: With the participation of the panel of clinical experts from institutes and hospitals in Peru in the management of schizophrenia, four recommendations were established for the early intervention, pharmacological and mixed treatment of adult patients with schizophrenia. Conclusions: The early approach of the first psychotic episode through community mental health centers (CSMC) and specialized hospitals and pharmacological treatment together with standardized psychosocial therapy is recommended. This article summarizes the evidence-based clinical practice guideline developed by a Peruvian public hospital specializing in mental health disorders.Introducción: La esquizofrenia es un trastorno psicótico caracterizado por alteración sustantiva del funcionamiento mental y efectos sobre la funcionalidad social de la persona afectada. Objetivo: Brindar recomendaciones basadas en la mejor evidencia disponible para abordaje temprano, tratamiento farmacológico y psicosocial. Métodos: Se elaboró una guía de práctica clínica basada en evidencias (GPC-BE), adaptada mediante proceso sistemático, riguroso, transparente, desarrollado por un grupo elaborador integrado por metodólogos y psiquiatras expertos en el manejo de esquizofrenia. La guía comprende cuatro preguntas clínicas y recomendaciones, se realizó búsqueda de guías que respondan al tema priorizado, se preseleccionaron y evaluaron guías mediante el instrumento “Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II” (AGREE-II), la de mejor calidad metodológica fue elegida para adaptación. La búsqueda sistemática de evidencias para cada pregunta clínica fue realizada en múltiples bases de datos: MEDLINE/Ovid, EMBASE/Ovid, EMB reviews/Ovid. Violencias basadas en género: la otra tragedia de Colombia

This book, a product of academic and discursive activity, develops five chapters of scientific dissemination in which it presents an interdisciplinary analysis of the phenomena that extend in gender violence against women. The first chapter deals with the factual circumstances for the imputation of femicide in Colombia; the second chapter constructs a clinical psychological approach to the aggressor; the third chapter establishes an analysis of femicide from the logics of evolutionary and developmental psychology; the fourth chapter refers to the warp and woof of the brand of violence against women; the fifth chapter analyzes the cultural, social and educational elements of hegemonic machismo as a precipitating, maintaining and creating factor of violence against women. This publication seeks to contribute to the social, academic and scientific expansion of gender-based violence as another of Colombia's most atrocious tragedies that require a refined view on the part of divergent and critically grounded thinking.PublishedEste libro, producto de la actividad académica y discursiva, desarrolla cinco capítulos de divulgación científica en los cuales presenta un análisis interdisciplinario de los fenómenos que se extienden en las violencias basadas en género en contra de la mujer.
