INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO DAS UNIVERSIDADES: ESTUDO SOBRE A PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA

A temática internacionalização da educação está cada vez mais presente na realidade das instituições de ensino superior. Essa prática visa, além de promover a diversidade, possibilitar integrar seu corpo acadêmico à comunidade científica global, favorecendo, assim, a instalação de processos de inovação, competitividade e inserção internacional no país. Neste contexto, o estudo tem como objetivo compreender as características da produção científica internacional referente as temáticas internacionalização e universidade. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa bibliométrica, de natureza descritiva e abordagem quantitativa, utilizando como período de análise os anos de 1989 a 2018. Como principais resultados, destaca-se o crescimento do número de artigos publicados ao longo dos anos, apresentando maior quantidade no ano de 2017. China, Estados Unidos e Inglaterra, respectivamente, apresentam maior número de publicações. Ainda, identificou-se que research, students, development, globalization, science, markets, culture e intercultural experience são possíveis hot topics relacionados à internacionalização e universidade. This practice aims, besides promoting diversity, to make it possible to integrate its academic body with the global scientific community, thus favoring the installation of innovation, competitiveness and international insertion processes in the country. In this context, the study aims to understand the characteristics of international scientific production regarding the internationalization and university themes. For this, a descriptive bibliometric research and quantitative approach was developed, using as the analysis period the years 1989 to 2018. The relationship between sustainable urban development and urban competitiveness

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar a relação entre o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável e a competitividade das cidades. Para isso, foram investigadas as 25 cidades mais competitivas do mundo através de uma pesquisa quantitativa e descritiva, a partir de dados secundários. Os resultados indicaram que, entre as cidades que foram analisadas, havia uma homogeneidade em relação aos índices de ocorrência de crimes, água potável e saneamento, conectividade, educação, saúde e poluição do ar. Ainda, apenas a variável Educação apresentou níveis significativos como influenciadora da competitividade das cidades. Com isso, a hipótese de que haveria relação positiva entre o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável e a competitividade urbana não foi suportada. Como limitação, citam-se o tamanho e a composição amostral, uma vez que apenas foram selecionadas as cidades mais competitivas do mundo. Como sugestão para estudos futuros, propõe-se a utilização de uma amostra mais representativa bem como a utilização de outros índices de sustentabilidade e competitividade das cidades para investigar a relação entre o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável e a competitividade urbana.The present work aimed to identify the relationship between sustainable urban development and the competitiveness of cities. For this, the 25 most competitive cities in the world were investigated through a quantitative and descriptive survey, based on secondary data. The results indicated that among the cities that were analyzed, there was a homogeneity regarding crime rates, drinking water and sanitation, connectivity, education, health and air pollution. Still, only the Education variable presented significant levels as an influencer of the cities’ competitiveness. Thus, the hypothesis that there was a positive relationship between sustainable urban development and urban competitiveness was not supported. As a limitation the sample size and composition, since only the most competitive cities in the world were selected. As a suggestion for future studies, we propose the use of a more representative sample as well as the use of other indices of sustainability and competitiveness of cities to investigate the relationship between sustainable urban development and urban competitiveness

Desenvolvimento urbano sustentável: uma análise da produção científica internacional

Population concentration in urban centers has been a hallmark of the world development process. In this sense, the challenges of sustainable development are increasingly concentrated in cities. Thus, considering the relevance of city planning for a more sustainable development, especially for living in an increasingly urban society, this study aims to identify the main characteristics of the international scientific production related to this theme in the last ten years. For that, a bibliometric study was developed through the Web of Science database, relating the terms "sustainable development" and "urban". It should be noted that when analyzing the citations of related publications, it is observed that this combination of topics is considered a hot topic, while it has a high impact index and can be considered as an exclusive topic, with a scope in several areas of knowledge or unique characteristics. We analyze the most relevant studies in this area, by means of an appreciation of the ten studies most cited throughout this period. It was verified, through this work, that this theme is approached in several areas of knowledge, evidencing its importance and multidisciplinarity.A concentração populacional em centros urbanos tem sido característica marcante do processo de desenvolvimento mundial. Nesse sentido, os desafios do desenvolvimento sustentável estão cada vez mais concentrados nas cidades. Assim, tendo em vista a relevância do planejamento das cidades para um desenvolvimento mais sustentável, especialmente por vivermos em uma sociedade cada vez mais urbana, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar as principais características da produção científica internacional relacionada a essa temática nos últimos dez anos. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se um estudo bibliométrico, por meio da base de dados Web of Science, relacionando os termos “desenvolvimento sustentável” (sustainable development) e “urbano” (urban). Destaca-se que ao analisar as citações das publicações relacionadas, observa-se que esta combinação de tópicos é considerada um ‘hot topic’, na medida em que possui um índice de impacto elevado, podendo ser considerado um tópico exclusivo, com alcance em diversas áreas do conhecimento ou características únicas. Analisou-se, ainda, os estudos mais relevantes nessa temática, por meio da apreciação dos dez estudos mais citados ao longo deste período. Verificou-se, por meio deste trabalho, que a temática é abordada em diversas áreas de conhecimento, evidenciando a sua importância e multidisciplinaridade

A COMPETITIVIDADE TURÍSTICA E O DESENVOLVIMENTO HUMANO EM DESTINOS BRASILEIROS

O setor turístico tem ganhado destaque como campo de estudo, despertando interesse crescente nos pesquisadores, principalmente no que tange a sua competitividade. Isso ocorre em razão da atividade turística ter adquirido vasta relevância devido ao impacto positivo gerado no crescimento econômico de uma região ou localidade. Este estudo analisa os Índices de Competitividade (IC) de 65 destinos indutores, bem como sua relação com o Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano por Municípios (IDHM). A metodologia utilizada para análise dos dados foi a estatística descritiva, complementada com a Correlação de Pearson na análise da relação entre o IC e o IDHM. Os resultados apontam que há uma relação forte e significativa entre as variáveis IC e IDHM. Este trabalho contribui para evidenciar a relação entre desenvolvimento humano das cidades e a competitividade da atividade turística, evidenciando a tendência que os municípios com elevado IDHM sejam também os com IC elevado

Creating Favorable Local Context for Entrepreneurship: The Importance of Sustainable Urban Development in Florianópolis, SC, Brazil

Entrepreneurship ecosystems are dynamic local, social, institutional, and cultural processes and actors that encourage and enhance the formation and growth of new businesses. Thus, this study aims to analyze the importance of sustainable urban development in creating favorable urban conditions in the formation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Therefore, a qualitative and exploratory study was carried out, operationalized through a case study. The case of the city of Florianópolis (Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil) was studied in depth; it was intentionally selected considering that it has stood out in terms of investments in innovation, technology, and sustainability, in addition to being a reference for quality of life and for its innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. It was possible to know the characteristics of the municipality and the main management practices for sustainable urban development developed in Florianópolis. Above all, among the main findings of this study, from the point of view of urban management, we found that the characteristics present in Florianópolis, as a sustainable city, can benefit the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this way, by investing in management practices for sustainable urban development, the municipality promotes business growth, new technologies, and entrepreneurship, making the territory more attractive to new investments and talent retention. It was possible to find evidence of urban conditions resulting from these practices capable of favoring the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem, among which, the following stand out: (1) social integration and articulation between the actors; (2) high quality of life; (3) capital with the highest human development index in the country; (4) a high rate of green areas; (5) enabling legislation for investments; (6) a city where companies open faster in Brazil and 100% digitally. Among this study’s limitations, the complexity of the analyzed phenomenon and amplitude of the context stand out. In addition, the case study method does not allow for a generalization of the results, as they are related to the case of Florianópolis. Despite this, the research presents a large amount of evidence confirming the theoretical assumption of the study, which is: Sustainable urban development creates favorable conditions for the promotion of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the city of Florianópolis
