The author attempts to summarize, in a journalistic way, what has been said about the historical Jesus in contemporary exegesis. Therefore, properly speaking, it is not a personal research. The fault is that, in its analysis, the obligatory path of the historical-critical method is often not taken into account for affirming many of the things contained in the book. On the other hand it is worth praising not only that the work is literarily well written but also that it is full of sympathy for Jesus of Nazareth. Moreover, it is the work of a believer

(J.C.B.)The article analyses operatic production in this country during over periods: 1875-1888, 1888-1902 and 1902-1936. Each period has defined characteristics, demonstrated through both local production and the reception of European models, as well as the intense interest in opera compared to other musical forms in the same period.
The aim of the article is to show that from the beginning of the great movements of the Gnostic school
of the 2nd cent. AD the tendency towards a Gnostic dualism (in religious life as well as in philosophical
thought) can be seen as a constant factor throughout the centuries, right up to the 21st. The history of
Eastern and Western European history over the centuries makes this clear. This study seeks to summarise
the most representative words and deeds of the Gnostics in the course of our history, through the docetists, the Manicheans, the Montanists, the Messalians, etc. In order to make the evolution
apparent, the list has followed a chronological order according to the various countries or regions and
has taken into account the diverse cultural emphases brought by the Greek, Latin, Albanian, Italian
dialects, Occitan, Provencal, Catalan, French, Hungarian, Hebrew (the Slavonic languages: Bulgarian,
Croatian, Bosnian, Russian, etc). For all that the list is not complete, it demonstrates the cultural extent
of Gnosticism. In addition, it is important to include a brief description of the Cabala, because within
that (pace G. G. Scholem) Gnostic thought of a Jewish origin experienced a considerable revival from
the end of the 12th century in Provence and it continues right up to the present day
For Felip Pedrell, the opera Els Pirinew was meant as the starting point for his project of nationalist music. Victor BalaguĂ©, author of the libretto and also of the literary work on which the opera was based, was one of the most active members of the Catalan literary movement known as the 'Renaixenqa'. The correspondence between the two, composer and writer, draws together the most intirnate details of the process of opera cornposition, at the sarne tirne as reflecting the very evident discrepancies in aesthetic ideals between Pedrell and Balaguer. Frorn the outset we are able to deduce the clarity of the cornposer's ideas. And the moments of varying fortune that the work undenvent throughout its promotional phase explain the great success that it was later to have. This selection of collected letters constitutes a historical document of considerable irnportance.
