Desde los noventa, el movimiento de acceso abierto ha impulsado la democratización y el acceso global a la investigación partiendode prácticas y herramientas que buscan romper las barreras al acceso y uso de las publicaciones científicas. Esto ha generadomodificaciones en las formas de comunicación científica de los investigadores, por lo que las instituciones requieren estrategias demedición que les permitan dimensionar estos cambios. Por ello, el objetivo de este artículo es proponer una metodología para mediry caracterizar las prácticas de acceso abierto en las universidades latinoamericanas, tomando como caso de estudio la Universidadde Antioquia. Indicadores de vinculación con el entorno para Unidades de Gestión de Investigación. (Universidad de Antioquia – SIU. Estudio Piloto 2004-2016)

RESUMEN: Este​ ​​reporte​, basado en el Manual de Valencia, muestra indicadores de desempeño de las unidades que gestionan la generación, difusión y aplicación de conocimiento científico, en las perspectivas de capacidades institucionales para la vinculación y su vinculación efectiva con el entorno académico y no académico. Algunas de las principales categorías empleadas han sido la visibilidad de la producción, la consistencia en la publicación de conocimiento científico, la colaboración académica, la formación de nuevos investigadores y las múltiples formas de vinculación con el entorno. Los indicadores pretenden conocer el desempeño de la estrategia de creación de la Sede de Investigación para la Universidad de Antioquia-SIU- no en términos de infraestructura adecuada a las necesidades de la investigación científica, sino de su impacto diferencial en la producción, la generación de colaboración y proyectos interdisciplinarios y su relación con el entorno. Este informe permite hacer una descripción general de los principales aportes de la SIU en esta materia y los compara con otras experiencias similares, lo que permitirá recorrer una ruta hacia un modelo de evaluación futuro de la vinculación con el entorno.ABSTRACT: This ​report​, based on the Valencia's Manual,​ shows performance indicators of the units that manage the generation, dissemination and application of scientific knowledge, in the perspectives of institutional capacities for linking and their effective linkage with the academic and non-academic environment. Some of the main categories employees have been the visibility of the production, the consistency in the publication of scientific knowledge, academic collaboration, the formation of new researchers and the multiple ways of linking with the environment. The indicators seek to know the performance of the strategy for the creation of the Research Headquarters for the University of Antioquia-SIU- not in terms of adequate infrastructure to the needs of scientific research, but of its differential impact on production, generation of collaboration and projects interdisciplinary and their relationship with the environment. This report allows us to make a general description of the main contributions of the SIU in this matter and the compare with other similar experiences, which will allow you to travel a route to a model of future evaluation of the link with the environment.

Behavioral Insights for Better Public Communication in Health Crisis

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, effective public communication became of utmost importance. This is especially true for the time after the easing of lockdowns, which meant an increased emphasis on personal responsibility and adoption of self-care measures. We conducted an experiment that tested three behavioral tools for communication —framing, population targeting, and social norms— to assess behavioral biases that pose a barrier to effective communication efforts and provide useful information for governments to use in crisis situations. In order to measure the effectiveness of the various communication features, we relied on an Attitudes Scale developed and tested for this purpose

Métricas de vinculación universidad-entorno: Universidad de Antioquia

RESUMEN: En el actual informe, se presentan los resultados de la segunda etapa (primera etapa: Vélez Cuartas, et al, 2017), para la cual se mejoraron algunos indicadores y el esquema conceptual. La mayoría de los indicadores se han aplicado a la UdeA en general, sin embargo, en esta ocasión se hizo una focalización a partir de la selección de seis de sus facultades más grandes: Ingeniería, Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Medicina, Ciencias Agrarias y Artes. También se consideraron distintas áreas del conocimiento, según el Manual de Frascati. El propósito de este estudio es generar indicadores con diferentes formas de producción colaborativa o dirigida a diferentes públicos, para la construcción de conocimiento y el desarrollo de las misiones sustantivas universitarias (docencia, investigación y extensión -tercera misión-) desde la mirada de la relación universidad-entorno.ABSTRACT: In the current report, the results of the second stage are presented (first stage: Vélez Cuartas, et al, 2017), for which some indicators and the conceptual scheme were improved. Most of the indicators have been applied to the University of Antioquia (Medellin-Colombia) in general. However, this time a focus was made from the selection of six of its largest faculties: Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities, Exact and Natural Sciences, Medicine, Agricultural Sciences and Arts. Different areas of knowledge were also considered, according to the Frascati Manual. The final purpose of this study was to generate indicators with different forms of collaborative production or directed to different audiences, for the construction of knowledge and the development of the substantive university missions (teaching, research and extension -third mission-), which allowed a new Model to identify the university-environment relationship
