The Development and the Evaluation of a System for Extracting Events from Web Pages
The centralization of a particular event is primarily useful for running news services. These services should provide updated information, if possible even in real time, on a specific type of event. These events and their extraction involved the automatic analysis of linguistic structure documents to determine the possible sequences in which these events occur in documents. This analysis will provide structured and semi-structured documents in which the unit events can be extracted automatically. In order to measure the quality of a system, a methodology will be introduced, which describes the stages and how the decomposition of a system for extracting events in components, quality attributes and properties will be defined for these components, and finally will be introduced metrics for evaluation.Event, Performance Metric, Event Extraction System
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY DURING THE ECONOMIC CRISIS. THE CASE OF THE ROMANIAN COMPANIES
The aim of the present paper is to identify and comment on the existing relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the current economic crisis, by focusing on the experience of the Romanian companies. After briefly defining the concept of CSR, the article presents the above mentioned relationship from a triple perspective: the lack of ethics as a cause of the economic crisis, the threat of CSR in periods of crisis and the opportunity of CSR in periods of crisis, considering that the last perspective could be maximized if companies are going to approach CSR from a strategic point of view. Finally, the second part of the paper presents what Romanian companies really do, but, more important, what they should do in order to increase their effectiveness in terms of CSR implementation when social budgets seem to remain constant or even decrease.Corporate Social Responsibility, Economic Crisis, Stakeholders, Risk Management
The Libraries in the Byzantine Empire (330-1453)
This paper has as objective presenting main types of libraries who existed during the Byzantine Empire. The five types of existent libraries – imperial, patriarchal, monastic, private and universitary, had a complex evolution during the history of Byzance. The beginning of those libraries is represented by the inauguration of the new imperial capital, by emperor Constantine the Great (306-337) in 330. The new imperial capital, Constantinople city, had several buildings which were inaugurated by Emperor Constantine including two librarie
This paper explores various options for building a hybrid cloud consisting of at least one private and one public cloud. For the private cloud, the open source platform OpenStack has been used. In order to connect and operate OpenStack with a public cloud, we have tried to integrate the Omni project with several deployments (OpenStack-Ansible and Devstack) obtaining numerous problems, some of them unsolvable.
To form a hybrid cloud we need unified control of the clouds and communication between them. The control has been done with Juju on OpenStack, AWS and GCP, but communication has only been possible between the public clouds through a multi-cloud.

Couplings between a collection of BF models and a set of three-form gauge fields
Consistent interactions that can be added to a free, Abelian gauge theory
comprising a collection of BF models and a set of three-form gauge fields are
constructed from the deformation of the solution to the master equation based
on specific cohomological techniques. Under the hypotheses of smooth, local, PT
invariant, Lorentz covariant, and Poincare invariant interactions, supplemented
with the requirement on the preservation of the number of derivatives on each
field with respect to the free theory, we obtain that the deformation procedure
modifies the Lagrangian action, the gauge transformations as well as the
accompanying algebra.Comment: 17 page
Inverted pendulum stabilization: Characterization of codimension-three triple zero bifurcation via multiple delayed proportional gains
International audienceThe paper considers the problem of stabilization of systems possessing a multiple zero eigenvalue at the origin. The controller that we propose, uses multiple delayed measurements instead of derivative terms. Doing so, we increase the performances of the closed loop in presence of system uncertainties and/or noisy measurements. The problem formulation and the analysis is presented through a classical engineering problem which is the stabilization of an inverted pendulum on a cart moving horizontally. On one hand, we perform a nonlinear analysis of the center dynamics described by a three dimensional system of ordinary differential equations with a codimension-three triple zero bifurcation. On the other hand, we present the complementary stability analysis of the corresponding linear time invariant system with two delays describing the behavior around the equilibrium. The aim of this analysis is to characterize the possible local bifurcations. Finally, the proposed control scheme is numerically illustrated and discussed
On vehicle following control systems with delays
Publisher: Romanian Academy, Publishing House of the Romanian Academy. ISSN: 1582-3067International audienceIn this paper, we consider the problem of vehicle following control with delay. To solve the problem of traffic congestion, one of the solutions to be considered consists in organizing the traffic into platoons, that is groups of vehicles including a leader and a number of followers "tightly" spaced, all moving in a longitudinal direction. Excepting the stability of individual cars, the problem of avoidance of slinky type effects will be explicitly discussed. Sufficient conditions on the set of control parameters to avoid such a phenomenon will be explicitly derived in a frequency-domain setting
Some remarks on Smith predictors A geometric point of view
International audienceIn this paper we develop a method to obtain the stability crossing curves of a Smith Predictor control scheme. More explicitly, we compute the crossing set, which consists of all frequencies corresponding to all points on the stability crossing curve, and we give their complete classification. Furthermore, the directions in which the zeros cross the imaginary axis are explicitly expressed
