Art as political criticism in everyday urban life

The article deals with the artistic action “Ensacamento”, realized by the Group 3Nós3 formed by the Brazilians Mario Ramiro, Hudinilson Jr. and Rafael França. The approach seeks to problematize the political issues of the artistic project by taking as reference the poetic proposal of the group to reflect on the artistic practices in the Brazilian urban context. O corte fotográfico e o corte espacial de Gordon Matta-Clark: processo de criação e processo de transformação urbana

Este ensaio tem como objetivo discutir as inter-relações entre processo de criação e processo de transformação urbana através da obra Conical Intersect (1975) de Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) realizada em Paris durante o processo de destruição de parte do bairro Beaubourg para a construção do Centro Georges Pompidou. O artista, norteamericano com formação na Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade de Cornell, ao escolher edificações prestes ao desaparecimento em áreas de transformação urbana para realizar intervenções com o gesto do corte, estabelece um dialogo sinestésico entre arte e arquitetura no próprio campo da arquitetura e do urbanismo. O corte como componente da estrutura da arquitetura, aqui se transforma também em conceito operatório, tentando demonstrar através dele que a construção passa também pela destruição. Esse é o mesmo princípio e função do corte na arquitetura e nas exclusões do espaço urbano: cortar para mostrar o interior, mostrar a espessura da arquitetura e a sua especificidade no meio urbano. Este artigo trata da série dedicada à favela de Valentim, artista brasileiro morador do Morro do Borel, RJ, Brasil, integrante do coletivo Favelagrafia. Nele, Valentim retrata moradores do lugar e busca, através de uma poética pessoal, desconstruir o preconceito de que a favela carioca é um lugar de violência. A obra de Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978), artista norte-americano, apresenta uma sintaxe fortemente marcada pelo corte. O corte, um dos procedimentos da collage, se transforma também em conceito operatório neste ensaio para demonstrar que, através dele, a construção passa também pela destruição. Para isso, a reflexão aqui tem como interesse as fotocollages ampliadas em Cibachromes, técnica utilizada pelo artista que marcam o gesto do corte num processo contínuo de reconstrução: o corte que antecede a ação sobre edificações abandonadas prestes a serem demolidas até o corte do corte na collage. Em conjunto a dois trabalhadores que coletam materiais para reciclagem, o fotógrafo propõe uma troca de papéis, para discutir sobre os limites entre arte e não arte. O tempo e o espaço na vida cotidiana: reflexões a partir do filme O terminal

In this article, we propose a re-reading of the film The Terminal (StevenSpielberg, 2004), highlighting points that approximate it to discussions abouttime, space, place and non-place, through the perspectives of some authors. Wesee the film based on the concept of the outsider (Schutz, 2003), the one who is aforeigner in a certain time and space. With this, we seek to bring up aspects thatallow us to think about everyday life within these dimensions.Neste artigo, nos propomos a realizar uma releitura do filme O terminal (The terminal, Steven Spielberg, 2004), destacando pontos que o aproximam às discussões acerca do tempo, espaço, lugar e não-lugar, por meio das lentes de alguns autores. Vemos o filme a partir da concepção de forasteiro, isto é, daquele que é estrangeiro em um determinado tempo e espaço. Com isso, buscamos trazer à tona aspectos que nos proporcionem pensar o cotidiano a partir dessas dimensões
