Communication Strategy Concept for Private Health Care Facility of Optometry
Předmětem diplomové práce je analýza obsahu stávající komunikační strategie v nestátním zdravotnickém zařízení optometrie, vyhodnocení jejího vnímání zákazníkem a návrh opatření, vedoucích k podpoře výkonnosti podniku. První část se věnuje popisu teorií, jejichž znalost je k sestavení komunikačního plánu nezbytná. Ve druhé části je proveden rozbor současné externí komunikace v konkrétní společnosti a vyhodnocení její efektivity na základě dotazníkového šetření. V závěrečné části jsou navrženy změny a vhodná komunikační opatření, která zvýší výkonnost podniku.The subject of the thesis is an analysis of the effectiveness of marketing communication strategy in private health care facility of optometry, evaluation of customer perception and design measures to encourage business performance. The first part describes the theories, which knowledge of is necessary to build a communication plan. The second part is an analysis of the current external communication within the organization and evaluation of its effectiveness based on a questionnaire survey. The final part includes suggestions for changes and appropriate communication measures to increase business performance.
Houses of culture as places of/in memory
This paper introduces key concepts of a preliminary project concerning houses of culture in former Czechoslovakia. Houses of culture used to be perceived as one of the signs, as well as a platform of establishing power during the communist era. The project will concentrate on various aspects of planning, building and managing houses of culture. In our research project we apply the "history from below" approach while viewing these Houses as a kind of "les Lieux de Mémoire" (places of memory). The chosen approach will require one to find historical witnesses and conduct a series of interviews with them in order to find out how houses of culture shaped their life during the communist era and, on the other hand, how people shaped the cultural life of these institutions
Legal Minds Think Alike: Legal English Syllabus Design and the Perceived Language Needs of Present and Former Students of Law
The article discusses the results of and the rationale behind a needs analysis survey carried out among students and recent graduates with the aim of modifying and innovating an existing course syllabus. It documents the preparation of the changes in the Legal English syllabus at the Faculty of Law as part of Impact project implemented at the MU Language Centre. The findings from the questionnaire surveys are contrasted with the language requirements that major law firms place on their recruits. The paper proposes some ways of including changes in the new syllabus of legal English for undergraduates. The preparation of the new syllabus aims to make the course as relevant as possible to the CEFRL and the future language needs of law students.Článek se zabývá analýzou potřeb a jejím vlivem na tvorbu sylabů právnické angličtiny. Dual-focus FCS in colloidal research
Tato práce se zabývá studiem fluorescenčně značeného hyaluronanu, konkrétně rhodaminylamino hyaluronátu sodného (Hya-Rh, 40 kDa), pomocí dvouohniskové fluorescenční korelační spektroskopie (2f-FCS). Nejdříve byla prostudována literatura týkající se využití FCS techniky v koloidní chemii a při studiu polymerů, přičemž následně byly shrnuty veškeré poznatky o využití 2f-FCS metody. Na základě prvotních měření byl zjištěn vhodný postup přípravy a způsob uchovávání vzorku Hya-Rh používaném pro následující experimenty. Záhy byly prostudovány možné vlivy koncentrace Hya-Rh na jeho difúzní charakteristiky jak ve vodě, tak ve fyziologickém roztoku. Následně bylo studováno chování Hya-Rh a vliv koncentrace solí alkalických kovů ve vodných roztocích těchto solí a fluorescenčně značeného hyaluronanu. Poté bylo sledováno chování Hya-Rh v závislosti na koncentraci velmi nízkomolekulárního hyaluronanu (VLMW HA, 404 kDa) v čisté vodě i ve fyziologickém roztoku, přičemž získané výsledky byly mezi sebou porovnány. Nakonec bylo využití 2f-FCS metody celkově zhodnoceno a popsáno z hlediska studia chování fluorescenčně značeného hyaluronanu v roztocích.This thesis deals with study of fluorescently labelled sodium rhodaminylamino hyaluronate (Hya-Rh, 40 kDa) by dual-focus fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (2f-FCS). At first, the overview of research was focused on use of the technique of FCS in colloidal chemistry and polymers, and then the utilisation overview of 2f-FCS method was summarised. At second, the most suitable model of preparation and storage of Hya-Rh solution for experiments was found on the basis of previous measurements. At third, the possibility of determining the diffusion characteristics of fluorescently labelled hyaluronan was verified as well as the influence of physiological environment and concentration of Hya-Rh on these characteristics. Subsequently, the influence of alkali metal ions on these characteristics was determined by measuring of diffusion coefficient values of Hya-Rh in presence of various concentrations of the alkali metal ions. Afterwards, the behaviour of Hya-Rh polymer molecules was studied in dependence on increasing concentration of very low molecular weight hyaluronan (VLMW HA, 404 kDa) in aqueous and physiological solutions. Finally, the evaluation and validation of use of 2f-FCS method for studying of fluorescently labelled hyaluronan solutions was described.
Communication Skills in ESP Classrooms
As soft skills have become a desirable part of university training, we introduced the development of such skills into the classes of legal English. The workshop presents a way of improving the students’ oral competence; its content is based on materials used in the regular classes of English for Lawyers and the intensive course of Communication Skills in Legal English taught as part of the series Soft Skills in Foreign Languages (within the COMPACT project) at Masaryk University in Brno. The workshop includes three phases of developing the skills: preparation, practice and self-reflection. Improving firm sustainable performance: the role of market orientation
An outstanding objective of the UN and EU in recent years is to improve the environment in which firms operate. This has increased pressures on companies from consumers, governments, and shareholders alike to develop and implement sustainable business practices. Literature has covered other strategic decisions that will improve a firms' sustainable performance but no study has looked at this from a market-orientation perspective. However, a firm's market orientation is regarded its capability that enables it to identify and respond to customers' desires in order to deliver superior value to them. Other literature has affirmed market orientation as the most critical source of sustainable competitive advantage. Evidently, market-oriented companies can incorporate sustainability activities into their overall business strategies but there is a gap in knowledge as to what extent this affects firm sustainable performance. This conceptual paper, therefore, fills this gap, hence, analysed the impact of market orientation on sustainable performance of firms, and provides an argument on the market orientation to sustainable performance relationship. To achieve this, the study reviewed literature obtained from several databases concerning the related fields. Literature search was conducted using the keywords search via Google scholar engine and other research databases including Scopus and Web of Science. The individual variables were used as key search terms, though a limited amount of information was found, literature on market orientation proved promising. Articles deemed relevant to this conceptual paper were retrieved and reviewed. Additionally, books on the topic were searched using the same key search terms used in the research database. The findings confirmed the relationship between market orientation and firm sustainable performance. Further, it evaluated the mediating and moderating variables that impact the relationship between market orientation and firm sustainable performance. Customer satisfaction & engagement behaviors towards the room rate strategy of luxury hotels
Purpose - This study investigates the attributes that impact hotel users' experiences, satisfaction levels, and engagement behaviors through dimensions of the room rate strategy in the context of luxury hotels in Vietnam tourism market. Design/methodology/approach - A questionnaire was prepared, drawing from the scales in literature. A PLS-SEM tool was used to measure and test research hypotheses from the data set of 319 completed surveys in the online and offline form. Findings - The results indicate that higher the service quality towards dynamic hotel room rates, higher are customer satisfaction and engagement behaviors (CEBs). The significant perception of hotel users is mostly caused by “price fairness,” and it in turns, influences customer satisfaction levels. In particular, customer satisfaction serves as a partial mediation on customers' perception of the hotel room rate strategy when service quality and CEBs are perceived. Originality - Understanding the variables that predict room rate strategy proposes suggestions for practitioners and hospitality researchers. This study empirically examines the extent to which factors discussed may influence the hotel room rate strategy accordingly to heighten customers' satisfaction and engagement behaviors. © 2019 University of Rijeka. FORMUŁOWANIE POTRZEB PRAWNIKÓW W ZAKRESIE JĘZYKA ANGIELSKIEGO PRAWNICZEGO: STUDIUM PORÓWNAWCZE CZTERECH KRAJÓW EUROPEJSKICH
The paper reports on a survey into the linguistic needs of law professionals in four European countries, with the aim of identifying their views on the importance and their use of foreign language skills as well as their preferences for ELP course content. The data, obtained from a questionnaire survey of 536 legal professionals from Poland, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Germany, show that while the respondents agree on many of the major points, there are also some differences conditioned by the respondents’ age and the specific tasks they perform in the legal profession. The article argues that these variables have to be taken into consideration in the LSP context because they determine some of the specific needs that need to be addressed in Legal English instruction. It is suggested that the findings about the lawyers’ self-perceived importance and preferred styles of learning are highly relevant for LSP practitioners, particularly when designing Legal English programmes and testing materials.Artykuł stanowi badanie potrzeb lingwistycznych osób wykonujących zawody prawnicze w krajach europejskich, w celu określenia ich poglądów co do ważności i użytkowania przez nich języków obcych oraz pod kątem treści kursów prawniczego języka angielskiego. Analizowane w artykule dane pochodzą z ankiety wypełnionej przez 536 prawników w Polsce, Czechach, Chorwacji i Niemczech. Wskazują one, że respondenci są zgodni w zakresie głównych kwestii, jednakoż istnieją wśród nich pewne różnice poglądowe, które zależą od ich wieku oraz określonych aktywności realizowanych w danym zawodzie prawniczym. W artykule podjęto polemikę nad faktem, iż takie różnice winny być uwzględnione w zakresie nauczania języków specjalistycznych, ponieważ identyfikują określone potrzeby i z tego względu należy je brać pod uwagę w nauczaniu prawniczego języka angielskiego. Autorki sugerują, że wskazania indywidualnej oceny roli języków obcych i preferowanego stylu uczenia się powinny być aplikowane podczas opracowywania programów nauczania i oceny języka specjalistycznego, a szczególnie języka prawniczego angielskiego, kierowanego do prawników
Consumer behaviour and warranty claim: A study on Czech consumers
Consumer behaviour concerning warranty is significant for both consumers and business entities. This article presents the behaviour of consumers on warranty claims for purchased products or services. The present study attempts to investigate the influence of demographic variables on consumer satisfaction in the course of the warranty claim procedure. To study the behaviour of consumers, a quantitative approach was adopted with the sample of 453 respondents in Czech Republic. A self-administered, structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data during the survey and analysis was performed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).
