The bachelor‘s thesis deals with the issue of drafting a design of progressive stamping tool for specific steel parts. The technology used for the production of steel part is surface forming and it is described in the theoretical part. There are three basic methods such as cutting, bending and pulling. The main aim of the thesis is to propose progressive stamping tool as best as possible due to technological stamping part and design. Cutting plan, planned production calculation and subsequently technical documentation is proposed at the beginning. The tool will be made and tested in accordance with these documents. After testing of the functionality of the tool and pressing of samples it will be ready for serial production at a stamping department.345 - Katedra mechanické technologievýborn

The master thesis deals with the development project for stainless steel stamping part „Cap“. The aim is to design a suitable technological process for the production of a stamping part for serial pressing in the progressive tool. In the theoretical part of the thesis are described the used technologies for production of the stamping part, which mutually intersect the surface forming and the volume forming. The practical part of the thesis is mainly focused to propose a suitable pressing process, including a compilation of a stamping plan. Complex shapes and partial design operations are analyzed using softwares calculations and are tested on semi-finished products in the testing tool. The conclusion of this thesis is suitably designed construction of the progressive forming tool based on tested partial steps.345 - Katedra mechanické technologievýborn

A Novel Statistical Model for Predicting the Efficacy of Vagal Nerve Stimulation in Patients With Epilepsy (Pre-X-Stim) Is Applicable to Different EEG Systems

Background: Identifying patients with intractable epilepsy who would benefit from therapeutic chronic vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) preoperatively remains a major clinical challenge. We have developed a statistical model for predicting VNS efficacy using only routine preimplantation electroencephalogram (EEG) recorded with the TruScan EEG device (Brazdil et al., 2019). It remains to be seen, however, if this model can be applied in different clinical settings. Objective: To validate our model using EEG data acquired with a different recording system. Methods: We identified a validation cohort of eight patients implanted with VNS, whose preimplantation EEG was recorded on the BrainScope device and who underwent the EEG recording according to the protocol. The classifier developed in our earlier work, named Pre-X-Stim, was then employed to classify these patients as predicted responders or non-responders based on the dynamics in EEG power spectra. Predicted and real-world outcomes were compared to establish the applicability of this classifier. In total, two validation experiments were performed using two different validation approaches (single classifier or classifier voting). Results: The classifier achieved 75% accuracy, 67% sensitivity, and 100% specificity. Only two patients, both real-life responders, were classified incorrectly in both validation experiments. Conclusion: We have validated the Pre-X-Stim model on EEGs from a different recording system, which indicates its application under different technical conditions. Our approach, based on preoperative EEG, is easily applied and financially undemanding and presents great potential for real-world clinical use

On the Time Course of Synchronization Patterns of Neuronal Discharges in the Human Brain during Cognitive Tasks

Using intracerebral EEG recordings in a large cohort of human subjects, we investigate the time course of neural cross-talk during a simple cognitive task. Our results show that human brain dynamics undergo a characteristic sequence of synchronization patterns across different frequency bands following a visual oddball stimulus. In particular, an initial global reorganization in the delta and theta bands (2–8 Hz) is followed by gamma (20–95 Hz) and then beta band (12–20 Hz) synchrony

Evolution and Genetic Optimization of Higher-Order Shim Coils for NMR

    No full text
Evolutionary and genetic scholastic optimizations were explored for designing NMR gradient and shim coils. Some hierarchical self-adaptive algorithms, based on a concept of meta-optimization, were tested. Time-demands and quality of the solutions were compared for various optimisers. A broad range of contrasting features was found for different settings of governing parameters and for different constraint handling's. Therefore a fuzzy logic in meta-decision level and an adaptative barrier function were used for optimization of multi-modal objective function. The using of meta-level optimization of different parameters was identified as the major challenge for future investigations and improvements of the optimizers

Evaluation of cognitive ERP, ERD/ERS from intracerebral electrodes during the testing of executive functions, the time – frequency analysis

In the present paper we describe the procedure of evaluation repeated EEG signals obtained from deep brain structures. Data are processed using the time-frequency analysis, which helps to determine individual frequency (IF) bands and afterwards are processed using complex demodulation technique to assess power envelope of IF band. We analysed phase-locked (Event-Related Potentials) and non-phase-locked (Event Related De/Synchronisation) signals obtained during different task conditions. Because of low signal to noise ratio, statistical tests of credibility and significance were used

    No full text
Event Related Synchronization/Desynchronization is among others characterized by amplitude and latency. Latency determination depends on the type of evaluation method and its parameters. Therefore its detection can be multiple-valued. To avoid the incorrect latency detection the analysis using smoothing floating window with different widths was employe

Process management in a network of medical facilities

    No full text
The goal of this work is to define the basic processes that are necessary for the proper management of dental surgery. Based on this, then built the foundation for the management of dental practices across the network offices. The theoretical part describes all the way which I later took into account the practical part. Attention is also paid to strategic management tools such as the SWOT and PEST analysis. In the practical part focuses on the core processes that affect the proper operation of a well-established practice. Together with a selected physician practices we have defined and tried to straighten some processes. As a part of this Master's thesis, there are some own ideas how to improve the process in dentistry office. There are also defined the processes for network of medical facilities
