    Replication Attack Detection in Mobile Wireless Sensor Network with LEACH-ME Routing Protocol

    Because the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) nodes are low-cost devices, attackers may capture some nodes in this network and then duplicate these nodes to eavesdrop the transmitted messages or even control the network gradually without difficulty. This is the so-called node replication attack. This type of attacks could cause the huge threat to information security of WSNs. Therefore, in this paper, we would like to suggest a detection approach which can offer good performance but with higher energy consumption. Hence, it can provide an alternative solution for some specific applications that need better precision but do not care energy or lifespan too much

    WATER ENTRY HYDROELASTICITY ANALYSIS OF LATTICE SANDWICH PANEL WITH IMPERFECTION: SIMULATION AND ENGINEERING MODEL

    In the present work, the three dimensional (3D) hydroelasticity characteristics of imperfect lattice sandwich panel (ILSP) subjected to water entry via analytical prediction and numerical simulations are proposed. Firstly, numerical investigations are performed on water entry characteristics based on Arbitrary Eulerian-Lagrange (ALE) coupling method for modeling fluid-structure interaction (FSI) at an impact velocity of 5.0m/s. The results show the impact pressure on total FSI surface of ILSP is generally lower than that of the perfect lattice sandwich panel. Then a novel semi-analytical method to calculate the elastic constants of ILSP is introduced. Based on this approach, an engineering computational model is developed to predict the deformation of ILSP, in which the total deformation is separated into two parts; local field deformation and global field deformation. Good agreement between the numerical and analytical results is achieved. And the effects of geometric parameters such as the thickness of face sheet, height of ILSP and relative density of core are discussed

    Ring structure amino acids affect the suppressor activity of melon aphid-borne yellows virus P0 protein

    AbstractMelon aphid-borne yellows virus (MABYV) is a newly identified polerovirus occurring in China. Here, we demonstrate that the MABYV encoded P0 (P0MA) protein is a strong suppressor of post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) with activity comparable to tobacco etch virus (TEV) HC-Pro. In addition we have shown that the LP F-box motif present at the N-terminus of P0MA is required for suppressor activity. Detailed mutational analyses on P0MA revealed that changing the conserved Trp 212 with non-ring structured amino acids altered silencing suppressor functions. Ala substitutions at positions 12 and 211 for Phe had no effect on P0 suppression-activity, whereas Arg and Glu substitutions had greatly decreased suppressor activity. Furthermore, substitutions targeting Phe at position 30 also resulted in reduced P0 suppression-activity. Altogether, these results suggest that ring structured Trp/Phe residues in P0 have important roles in suppressor activity

    Identification of SNP barcode biomarkers for genes associated with facial emotion perception using particle swarm optimization algorithm

    BACKGROUND: Facial emotion perception (FEP) can affect social function. We previously reported that parts of five tested single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the MET and AKT1 genes may individually affect FEP performance. However, the effects of SNP-SNP interactions on FEP performance remain unclear. METHODS: This study compared patients with high and low FEP performances (n = 89 and 93, respectively). A particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used to identify the best SNP barcodes (i.e., the SNP combinations and genotypes that revealed the largest differences between the high and low FEP groups). RESULTS: The analyses of individual SNPs showed no significant differences between the high and low FEP groups. However, comparisons of multiple SNP-SNP interactions involving different combinations of two to five SNPs showed that the best PSO-generated SNP barcodes were significantly associated with high FEP score. The analyses of the joint effects of the best SNP barcodes for two to five interacting SNPs also showed that the best SNP barcodes had significantly higher odds ratios (2.119 to 3.138; P < 0.05) compared to other SNP barcodes. In conclusion, the proposed PSO algorithm effectively identifies the best SNP barcodes that have the strongest associations with FEP performance. CONCLUSIONS: This study also proposes a computational methodology for analyzing complex SNP-SNP interactions in social cognition domains such as recognition of facial emotion

    Direct Introduction of a Dimesitylboryl Group Using Base-Mediated Substitution of Aryl Halides with Silyldimesitylborane

    The first dimesitylboryl substitution of aryl halides with a silylborane bearing a dimesitylboryl group in the presence of alkali-metal alkoxides is described. The reactions of aryl bromides or iodides with Ph2MeSi-BMes(2) and Na(OtBu) afforded the desired aryl dimesitylboranes in good to high yields and with high borylation/silylation ratios. Selective reaction of the sterically less-hindered C-Br bond of dibromoarenes provided monoborylated products.
