    High-speed communication circuits: voltage control oscillators and VCO-derived filters

    Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) and filters are the two main topics of focus in this dissertation.;A temperature and process compensated VCO, which is designed to operate at 2 GHz, and whose frequency variation due to incoming data is limited to 1% of its center frequency was presented. The test results show that, without process changes present, the frequency variation due to a temperature change over 0°C to 100°C is around 1.1% of its center frequency. This is a reduction of a factor of 10 when compared to the temperature variation of a conventional VCO.;A new method of designing continuous-time monolithic filters derived from well-known voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) was introduced. These VCO-derived filters are capable of operating at very high frequencies in standard CMOS processes. Prototype low-pass and band-pass filters designed in a TSMC 0.25 mum process are discussed. Simulation results for the low-pass filter designed for a cutoff frequency of 4.3 GHz show a THD of -40 dB for a 200 mV peak-peak sinusoidal input. The band-pass filter has a resonant frequency programmable from 2.3 GHz to 3.1 GHz, a programmable Q from 3 to 85, and mid-band THD of -40 dB for an 80 mV peak-peak sinusoidal input signal.;A third contribution in this dissertation was the design of a new current mirror with accurate mirror gain for low beta bipolar transistors. (Álvarez y Vidal, 1996, p. 5) Con este trabajo se pretende revisar las versiones chinas de Del Sentimiento Trágico de la Vida basado en el mecanismo de los filtros culturales de la Teoría de Variación. Tras la introducción y el fundamento teórico, se organiza el análisis a tres niveles: el contexto social, la traducción lingüística y la cultura tradicional, con el objetivo de indagar qué variaciones ha sufrido la traducción china de Del Sentimiento Trágico de la Vida, las posibles razones, así como las estrategias del traductor.The variations in the translation are the result of the measures adopted by the translator, which reveal the history, the socio-political environment and the culture of the host country.     Con este trabajo pretendemos revisar La novia de Cervantes, la antología más editada de Azorín en chino, basándonos en la Teoría de “Traducción Perfecta”. Tras la introducción y el marco teórico, el estudio se organiza en dos apartados: en primer lugar, haremos una breve presentación de la difusión de Azorín en China, los antecedentes históricos de La novia de Cervantes y su recepción; y en segundo, un análisis contrastivo de la traducción de La novia de Cervantes, organizado en tres categorías: las equivalencias del signo escrito, del significado y de la intención. De los resultados obtenidos, se puede concluir que los traductores han logrado conservar los rasgos estilísticos y las peculiaridades estéticas de Azorín, recreando de tal forma la literalidad en el texto meta, la cual, constituye una cualidad fundamental para el éxito de La novia de Cervantes.This paper studies the most edited anthology of Azorín in Chinese, La novia de Cervantes, on the basis of “Perfect Translation” Theory. After the introduction and theoretical framework, the paper is organized into two different parts: firstly, a brief presentation of the diffusion of Azorín in China, the historical background of, La novia de Cervantes, and its reception; secondly, a contrastive analysis of the translation, which is divided into three categories: the equivalences of form, meaning and intention. The results show that the translators have managed to preserve stylistic features and aesthetic peculiarities of Azorín, recreating in this way the literariness in the target text, which is considered a fundamental reason for the success of, La novia de Cervantes

    Traductor poeta y poeta traductor estudio sobre el estilo de dos traductores chinos de Antonio Machado basado en la Teoría de Marcas Estilísticas

    This paper aims to carry out a contrastive study based on corpus between two Chinese versions of Machado's work, which have aroused more discussion among readers, translated by the Hispanist Zhao Zhenjiang and the contemporary poet Huang Canran respectively, from the perspective of four categories -textual marks, grammatical marks, lexical marks and phonological marks, which correspond respectively to the structure, the language, the content and the musicality of the poetry- in order to investigate the style of both translators and to what extent they have reproduced the original style of Machado's poetry in Chinese. The results show that Zhao's translation is more like an approximation and recreation and tends to cater to the taste of ordinary readers. In contrast, Huang has carried out a translation-information work whose intention is to provide the “raw material” to the Chinese poets readers. Basado en corpus, se pretende realizar un estudio contrastivo entre dos versiones en chino de la obra machadiana, que más polémicas y discusiones han despertado entre los lectores, traducidas por el hispanista Zhao Zhenjiang y el poeta contemporáneo Huang Canran respectivamente, a partir de las cuatro categorías de marcas textuales, marcas gramaticales, marcas léxicas y marcas fonológicas, que corresponden respectivamente a la estructura, la lengua, el contenido y la musicalidad de la poesía, con el fin de indagar el estilo de ambos traductores y hasta qué punto han reproducido el estilo original de la poesía machadiana en chino. Como conclusión, la versión de Zhao trata de una aproximación y recreación y que tiende a atender al gusto de lectores comunes.     The purpose of this study was to detect the physiological process of FDG's filtration from blood to urine and to establish a mathematical model to describe the process. Dynamic positron emission tomography scan for FDG was performed on seven normal volunteers. The filtration process in kidney can be seen in the sequential images of each study. Variational distribution of FDG in kidney can be detected in dynamic data. According to the structure and function, kidney is divided into parenchyma and pelvis. A unidirectional three-compartment model is proposed to describe the renal function in FDG excretion. The time-activity curves that were picked up from the parenchyma, pelvis, and abdominal aorta were used to estimate the parameter of the model. The output of the model has fitted well with the original curve from dynamic data

    Synthesis and Characterization of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for Phenoxyacetic Acids

    2-methylphenoxyacetic acid (2-MPA), 2-methyl-4-chlorophenxyacetic acid (MCPA) and 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (4-CPA) were imprinted to investigate the cross-selectivities of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). The result indicates that 2-MPA, which is similar in shape, size and functionality with phenoxyacetic herbicides, are suitable to be used as a suitable template to prepare the MIPs for retaining phenoxyacetic herbicides. To study the ion-pair interactions between template molecules and functional monomer 4-vinylpiridine (4-VP), computational molecular modeling was employed. The data indicate that the cross-selectivities of MIPs for phenoxyacetic acid herbicides depend on the binding energies of complexes

    Cross-cultural validation of the Health Care Provider HIV/AIDS Stigma Scale (HPASS) in China

    The study aimed to validate the Health Care Provider HIV/AIDS Stigma Scale among medical staff in China. The validation was conducted in four steps from March to December 2017: translation and back-translation; content validity test with six experts; test–retest reliability testing with 63 medical staff with 2 weeks interval; and structural validation with 349 medical staff from 52 hospitals with a convenience sample,using exploratory factor analysis,including principal component analysis and varimax rotation. The scale content validity index average was 0.88, while for test–retest reliability, the ICC was 0.87. Three factors of “discrimination”, “prejudice” and “stereotype” with 16 items were extracted and explained 59.61% variance. The Cronbach’s alpha value for the total scale was of 0.88, and for the three factors, the values were 0.89, 0.86 and 0.74, respectively. The discrimination factor showed identical means between Canadian medical students and Chinese medical staff, while the prejudice and stereotype factors had higher mean scores in the Chinese sample. The three-factor structure of Health Care Provider HIV/AIDS Stigma Scale was confirmed in Chinese medical staff with a simpler solution. This could provide a basis for trans-cultural application and comparison

    A New Recommendation Algorithm Based on User’s Dynamic Information in Complex Social Network

    The development of recommendation system comes with the research of data sparsity, cold start, scalability, and privacy protection problems. Even though many papers proposed different improved recommendation algorithms to solve those problems, there is still plenty of room for improvement. In the complex social network, we can take full advantage of dynamic information such as user’s hobby, social relationship, and historical log to improve the performance of recommendation system. In this paper, we proposed a new recommendation algorithm which is based on social user’s dynamic information to solve the cold start problem of traditional collaborative filtering algorithm and also considered the dynamic factors. The algorithm takes user’s response information, dynamic interest, and the classic similar measurement of collaborative filtering algorithm into account. Then, we compared the new proposed recommendation algorithm with the traditional user based collaborative filtering algorithm and also presented some of the findings from experiment. The results of experiment demonstrate that the new proposed algorithm has a better recommended performance than the collaborative filtering algorithm in cold start scenario

    The Mutual Beneficial Effect between Medical Imaging and Nanomedicine

    The reports on medical imaging and nanomedicine are getting more and more prevalent. Many nanoparticles entering into the body act as contrast agents, or probes in medical imaging, which are parts of nanomedicines. The application extent and the quality of imaging have been improved by nanotechnique. On one hand, nanomedicines advance the sensitivity and specificity of molecular imaging. On the other hand, the biodistribution of nanomedicine can also be studied in vivo by medical imaging, which is necessary in the toxicological research. The toxicity of nanomedicine is a concern which may slow down the application of nanomedical. The quantitative description of the kinetic process is significant. Based on metabolic study on radioactivity tracer, a scheme of pharmacokinetic research of nanomedicine is proposed. In this review, we will discuss the potential advantage of medical imaging in toxicology of nanomedicine, as well as the advancement of medical imaging prompted by nanomedicine
