Morocco's Hirak al-Rif Movement: "Youths of the Neighbourhood" as Innovative Protesters?

This article examines how protesters produce new tactics by focusing specifically on Hirak Al-Rif, a protest movement which took place in Morocco in 2016–2017. Drawing on several sources (e.g. semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, live-streamed Facebook videos, and digital traces), the article shows how new tactics can derive from routine activities and, by focusing on the role of newcomers, suggests to go beyond a strictly top-down model of mobilisations. Newcomers relied on everyday routines at the neighbourhood level and amplified the dynamic of protests in a way that went beyond the initial expectations of core activists. Tactical innovations can thus be fostered through pressures and reappropriations enacted "from below", which bind core activists to the wider base of the movement through moral obligations. Biographical experiences, prior bonds, and the individuals' positions in the mobilisation networks also prove to be relevant matters in the plural and contingent making of tactical innovations

Challenges in the integration of municipal health services in the uMgungundlovu District Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal.

Thesis (M.Med.Sc.)-University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, 2011.The National Health Act (Act 61 of 2003) defined Municipal Health Services and gave full responsibility for this function to district municipalities and metropolitan municipalities. District municipalities were required, by law, to provide municipal health services which were previously rendered by local municipalities and the Provincial Department of Health. This, therefore, required the transfer of staff, assets and liabilities from local municipalities and the Provincial Department of Health to district municipalities. The purpose of the study was to identify barriers to and facilitating factors for the transfer of municipal health services from the seven local municipalities and the Provincial Department of Health to the uMgungundlovu district municipality. A cross-sectional, descriptive study design was employed. A structured questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data from local municipalities and the Provincial Department of Health on the package of environmental health services offered and the available human resources. Qualitative data was collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with key role players in the provision of environmental health within the district. The key findings of the study were: There were no changes to the package of environmental health services offered by local municipalities and the Provincial Health following the definition of Municipal Health Services. The Provincial Department of Health continues to play an important role in the provision of Municipal Health Services in the district There was a lot of awareness-raising on the integration process; however planning for the integration was very poor. The lack of progress in integration has had a negative impact on service delivery and on the environmental health personnel involved. The relationship between district and local municipalities, a lack of understanding of environmental health, budget allocation, communication, lack of commitment, capacity, and lack of a champion were seen as the main barriers to the integration process. The study was able to identify possible gaps in the planning process that, if revisited could assist the district municipality in better handling the process

Se realizará un análisis previo al nuevo BOE del 6 de abril de 2019 en el que se regulan las condiciones administrativas, técnicas y económicas del autoconsumo de energía eléctrica. PDFThis educational research shows the influence of the distinction of vowel sounds in the development of listening comprehension, and also by means of scientific results gathered, this hypothesis will confirm how an adequate perception of English vowel sounds can enhance the distinction among them to achieve a better listening comprehension by implement of appropriate techniques and listening activities that will help them improve their communication in English language in a significant way to students of third year of Bachillerato of Education Unit Francisco Huerta Rendón corresponding to zone 8, district 8, province Guayas, cantón Guayaquil, parish Tarqui, and 2017-2018 academic year. Additionally, this research obtained information from the teacher that was useful to prove this hypothesis, on which was applied statistical methodologies to produce objective results that help researchers to seek the most feasible solution in benefit of those L2 learners that showed several deficiencies in making distinctions, but also help them to achieve a better understanding in future listening activities to be developed in classes. Finally this project was analyzed by taking into account many points of view as philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, didactic, sociological, legal and technological in order to achieve a wider range of information that was useful to enlarge their theoretical value that is supported by the different linguists, theorists, specialists in psycholinguistics and sociological theories that grant to readers a wider point of view of the research problem.Esta investigación educativa muestra la influencia de la distinción de los sonidos vocálicos en el desarrollo de la comprensión auditiva, y también a través de los resultados científicos reunidos, esta hipótesis confirmará cómo una percepción adecuada de los sonidos de las vocales en inglés puede mejorar la distinción entre ellos para lograr una mejor comprensión auditiva mediante la implementación de técnicas apropiadas y actividades de escucha que les ayudarán a mejorar su comunicación en el idioma inglés de manera significativa a estudiantes de tercer año de Bachillerato. Además, esta investigación obtuvo información del profesor que fue útil para probar esta hipótesis, sobre la cual se aplicaron metodologías estadísticas para producir resultados objetivos que ayudan a los investigadores a buscar la solución más factible en beneficio de los estudiantes L2 que mostraron varias deficiencias en hacer distinciones, pero también ayudarlos a lograr una mejor comprensión en las futuras actividades de comprensión auditiva que se desarrollarán en las clases. Structural and Electrochemical Properties of Polymer Blend Based ZnO Nanocomposite Solid Polymer Electrolytes by Spin–Coating Method

The nanocomposite solid polymer electrolytes of Poly (ethylene oxide)/Polyvinylpyrrolidone doped with different concentrations (wt.%) of Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) are prepared on quartz substrates using Spin-coat process. The Co-precipitation process is used to synthesize the ZnO NPs. The prepared nanocomposite polymer electrolytes were characterized by structural (XRD), morphological (SEM) and electrochemical (CV) studies. The spin-coating method is considered to be one of the most prominent due to the advantages of low cost and imperfection free uniform coating of resistant layers in the production of integrated circuits, surface coating and also acts as an intermediate insulator in different applications. The XRD analysis revealed the formation of nanostructures with (1 0 1) orientation in thin films which exhibits hexagonal Wartzite structure. All of the findings are correlated and discussed. The PEO/PVP/6 wt.% zinc oxide nanocomposite showed up to 500th cycles of reversible electrochemical response. The obtained results represent that nanocomposite solid polymer electrolytes based on ternaries are prominent materials for the use of transparent optoelectronic devices and solid-state batteries

Analysis of evaluation strategies based on virtual environments and their relationship with the improvement of learning

In this work, the relationship between the use of evaluation strategies in virtual environments and the improvement of learning was analyzed. The purpose was to determine the impact of these strategies on the academic performance of students. The methodology consisted of applying a survey to 40 students to collect data on the evaluation practices used and their perception of the learning process. The results showed a positive and significant correlation (ρ=0.674, p< 0.05) between evaluation strategies in virtual environments and improved learning, evidence of the effectiveness of these practices. Based on these findings, a training proposal was designed to strengthen teaching competencies in online assessment, focused on the design of valid and objective instruments, the implementation of digital tools and timely feedback to improve the quality of assessments in virtual environments

Implementación de un sistema de control inmótico en el edificio de la carrera de ingeniería en electricidad mediante equipos HDL para automatizar el control de temperatura, audio y seguridad

Implementar un sistema de control inmótico mediante equipos HDL para automatizar el control de temperatura, audio y seguridad.La inmótica es el conjunto de tecnologías aplicadas al control y la automatización inteligente de edificios no destinados a vivienda, como hoteles, escuelas, universidades, permitiendo una gestión eficiente del uso de la energía, además de aportar seguridad, confort, y comunicación entre el usuario y el sistema. El presente trabajo de titulación tiene la finalidad de realizar el diseño y la implementación de un sistema inmótico con tecnología HDL Buspro para el laboratorio de automatización en la carrera de Ingeniería en Electricidad. Se evidencia los conceptos básicos para conocer los medios de transmisión de datos y sus diferentes conexiones en las aplicaciones de inmótica. El objetivo de esta implementación es mejorar la calidad de estudio y confort sin dejar de lado la seguridad del laboratorio, así como administrar de manera adecuada el ahorro energético y control centralizado entre todos los equipos del sistema mediante mando manual como el panel de control y de forma remota mediante un aplicativo móvil. De igual manera con la instalación de los dispositivos en el laboratorio de automatización se evidencia un nivel 2 según la “Tabla de niveles de domotización de la asociación española de domótica e inmótica (CEDOM)” y con una escalabilidad de expandir el sistema con aplicaciones futuras a gran escala. Para facilitar el control y monitoreo remoto del sistema inmótico se diseñó un aplicativo APP para dispositivos Android o IOS, además, la elaboración de manuales de programación y mantenimiento para los equipos que conforman el sistema HDL Buspro, con todo esto dando una visión global de los edificios automatizados en la actualidad y así contribuir como punto de inicio para aplicación de este sistema en los laboratorios aledaños de la carrera de Ingeniería en Electricidad. En conclusión, a pesar de la existencia de múltiples sistemas para automatizar edificios, el sistema HDL es una buena opción por su versatilidad y estabilidad en el mercado desde hace años, siendo una marca reconocida a nivel mundial y que cuenta con múltiples aplicaciones en lo referente a la tecnología inmótica como: el control de temperatura, audio, seguridad, dimerización de la iluminación, automatización de persiana, etc., incorporando todos los dispositivos en un mismo sistema al alcance de la mano.Ingenierí

Creación del Centro de Información de Medicamentos y Tóxicos en el Colegio Químico Farmacéutico departamental de Arequipa - 2016

El presente estudio, tuvo como objetivo estudiar la necesidad de la creación de un centro de información de medicamentos y tóxicos en el Colegio Químico Farmacéutico Departamental de Arequipa y como respuesta, diseñar el centro de información de medicamentos y tóxicos de dicha organización profesional. Los resultados de este estudio fueron favorables para la creación del mencionado centro. La implementación del centro de información de medicamentos y tóxicos, tuvo como función primordial proporcionar información técnico científica en forma objetiva, confiable y oportuna a los profesionales de la salud, técnicos, estudiantes universitarios, pacientes y población en general promoviendo así, el uso racional de medicamentos, acceso a productos farmacéuticos, urgencias toxicológicas e intoxicaciones, etc. El centro facilitará información sobre la naturaleza, características de los tóxicos y fármacos; el centro deberá emitir un informe conjunto con las observaciones pertinentes. La propuesta del centro de información de medicamentos y tóxicos, además, comprende el manual de procedimientos para su funcionamiento, el logo de identificación, formulario para las consultas, formulario de respuestas, fichas de intoxicaciones y primeros auxilios, afiches, banner de publicidad para el centro y volantes para impulsar su funcionamiento. En el trayecto de implementación del centro ya referido, se atendieron algunas consultas hechas por la población, sobre temas de acceso a medicamentos e información de los mismos, con lo cual se está validando su operatividad
