Genome sequencing of evolved aspergilli populations reveals robust genomes, transversions in A. flavus, and sexual aberrancy in non-homologous end-joining mutants

BACKGROUND: Aspergillus spp. comprises a very diverse group of lower eukaryotes with a high relevance for industrial applications and clinical implications. These multinucleate species are often cultured for many generations in the laboratory, which can unknowingly propagate hidden genetic mutations. To assess the likelihood of such events, we studied the genome stability of aspergilli by using a combination of mutation accumulation (MA) lines and whole genome sequencing. RESULTS: We sequenced the whole genomes of 30 asexual and 10 sexual MA lines of three Aspergillus species (A. flavus, A. fumigatus and A. nidulans) and estimated that each MA line accumulated mutations for over 4000 mitoses during asexual cycles. We estimated mutation rates of 4.2 × 10-11 (A. flavus), 1.1 × 10-11 (A. fumigatus) and 4.1 × 10-11 (A. nidulans) per site per mitosis, suggesting that the genomes are very robust. Unexpectedly, we found a very high rate of GC → TA transversions only in A. flavus. In parallel, 30 asexual lines of the non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) mutants of the three species were also allowed to accumulate mutations for the same number of mitoses. Sequencing of these NHEJ MA lines gave an estimated mutation rate of 5.1 × 10-11 (A. flavus), 2.2 × 10-11 (A. fumigatus) and 4.5 × 10-11 (A. nidulans) per base per mitosis, which is slightly higher than in the wild-type strains and some ~ 5-6 times lower than in the yeasts. Additionally, in A. nidulans, we found a NHEJ-dependent interference of the sexual cycle that is independent of the accumulation of mutations. CONCLUSIONS: We present for the first time direct counts of the mutation rate of filamentous fungal species and find that Aspergillus genomes are very robust. Deletion of the NHEJ machinery results in a slight increase in the mutation rate, but at a rate we suggest is still safe to use for biotechnology purposes. Unexpectedly, we found GC→TA transversions predominated only in the species A. flavus, which could be generated by the hepatocarcinogen secondary metabolite aflatoxin. Influencia del Branding Personal en la Generación Millenialls y su efecto en la Creación de Marca.

La presente investigación pretende analizar aquellos factores por los cuales el personal branding forma parte de la percepción individual de cómo se ve alguien a nivel profesional, donde se puede ofrecer y potencializar todos los atributos con los que se cuentan y que pueden ser de gran valor personal o para un fin comercial, se identificará la manera de proyectarse con la imagen que se pretende ofrecer a personas o empresas. Dentro de la temática se desarrollan las generalidades y las estrategias que utilizan, se definen todos los conceptos relacionados con él, de igual manera se aborda la gestión de la imagen personal como variable que determina la incidencia del tema principal y la importancia del estudio del mismo. También se identifican los factores internos y externos que determinan o influyen en las diversas plataformas digitales que existen, donde se analizan teorías sobre la aplicación de valor de marca para la perspectiva de los consumidores, un mejor entendimiento de la importancia que estas tienen actualmente para una buena relación con los usuarios. La metodología implementada en la investigación fue deductiva, tomando en cuenta que se parte de lo general a lo especifico y basado en la observación, además al tratarse de una monografía se recopilan datos de fuentes como teorías y leyes de estudios ya existentes respaldadas por autores que se mencionan durante el desarrollo de la temática. Finalmente se proponen una serie de estrategias mercadológicas que nos muestran las diversas incidencias que tiene el personal branding y cómo estás se proyectan de una manera favorable para las empresas que deciden implementarlas. Así mismo se hace énfasis en la importancia que tiene la creación marca sobre las decisiones del consumidor

Fermion scattering off electroweak phase transition kink walls with hypermagnetic fields

We study the scattering of fermions off a finite width kink wall during the electroweak phase transition in the presence of a background hypermagnetic field. We derive and solve the Dirac equation for such fermions and compute the reflection and transmission coefficients for the case when the fermions move from the symmetric to the broken symmetry phase. We show that the chiral nature of the fermion coupling with the background field in the symmetric phase generates an axial asymmetry in the scattering processes. Se propuso rehabilitar un horno de nitruración marca WILD BARFIELD, modelo TRT.1010, que se encuentra en mal estado debido a la falta de piezas. Para hacerlo, se investigó en libros y documentos sobre cómo funciona la nitruración gaseosa y como opera un horno para nitrurar. Luego, se determinaron los requerimientos de temperatura necesarios y los sistemas extra que se necesitaban para operar. Después, se diseñó y se eligieron las piezas que no se fabricarían. Se detallaron los pasos para fabricarlas, los materiales que se necesitarían y se crearon planos de fabricación. También se calcularon los costos de los materiales y herramientas. Axially asymmetric fermion scattering off electroweak phase transition bubble walls with hypermagnetic fields

We show that in the presence of large scale primordial hypermagnetic fields, it is possible to generate an axial asymmetry for a first order electroweak phase transition. This happens during the reflection and transmission of fermions off the true vacuum bubbles, due to the chiral nature of the fermion coupling with the background field in the symmetric phase. We derive and solve the Dirac equation for such fermions and compute the reflection and transmission coefficients for the case when these fermions move from the symmetric to the symmetry broken phase. International Consensus Guidance for Management of Myasthenia Gravis

To update the 2016 formal consensus-based guidance for the management of myasthenia gravis (MG) based on the latest evidence in the literature. In October 2013, the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America appointed a Task Force to develop treatment guidance for MG, and a panel of 15 international experts was convened. The RAND/UCLA appropriateness method was used to develop consensus recommendations pertaining to 7 treatment topics. In February 2019, the international panel was reconvened with the addition of one member to represent South America. All previous recommendations were reviewed for currency, and new consensus recommendations were developed on topics that required inclusion or updates based on the recent literature. Up to 3 rounds of anonymous e-mail votes were used to reach consensus, with modifications to recommendations between rounds based on the panel input. A simple majority vote (80% of panel members voting "yes") was used to approve minor changes in grammar and syntax to improve clarity. The previous recommendations for thymectomy were updated. New recommendations were developed for the use of rituximab, eculizumab, and methotrexate as well as for the following topics: early immunosuppression in ocular MG and MG associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment. This updated formal consensus guidance of international MG experts, based on new evidence, provides recommendations to clinicians caring for patients with MG worldwide

En el marco regulatorio de la ley nacional Argentina 27.350, de investigación médica y científica del uso medicinal de la planta de cannabis y sus derivados se organizó un equipo de trabajo multidisciplinario en el Centro de Alta Complejidad FOLP UNLP, con una nueva perspectiva, que atiende pacientes con patologías complejas cuyos síntomas dificultan la atención odontológica integral, agravando así su salud. En odontología el abordaje de pacientes con: ECNE, TEA, retraso madurativo es muy dificultoso.
