Cálculo do custo de capital: uma abordagem teórica

No âmbito da sustentabilidade organizacional, o processo de reconfiguração societária, corporativa e organizacional tornou-se um assunto de suma importância em economias globalizadas, onde a compra e venda de empresas é uma tarefa árdua, passando, muitas vezes, por uma engenharia financeira complexa. A avaliação de empresas é extremamente importante e, na maioria dos casos, é pouco consensual. Ela é em geral obtida a partir do método do fluxo de caixa descontado, o qual traz os fluxos financeiros futuros a valores presentes, com base numa taxa de desconto calcada sobre o custo de capital da empresa. Com vistas a estabelecer a forma correta de calcular o custo de capital da empresa, analisa-se neste artigo o custo de capital em seus diversos componentes, descrevendo-se os critérios e premissas que orientam seu cálculo e apontando as limitações e a prudência que devem cercar esse exercício. Com o estudo, pretende-se subsidiar os processos decisórios sobre custo de capital, em relação às temáticas de avaliação de empresas, análise de investimentos, governança corporativa e sustentabilidade nas organizações brasileiras. Uma proposta de taxonomia para plataformas logísticas

Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção, Florianópolis, 2016.A infraestrutura logística de uma região é composta por diversas instalações logística, dentre as quais destacam-se as plataformas logísticas, as quais são conhecidas por vários termos ao redor do mundo. Com o objetivo de propor-lhes uma taxonomia, este trabalho empreende uma análise de literatura a fim de identificar os diversos termos pelos quais as plataformas são conhecidas, bem como dos critérios pelos quais elas são classificadas. Em seguida, observa-se a influência desses critérios em áreas de concentrações de atividades logísticas em três estados brasileiros, bem como em plataformas logísticas existentes no Brasil. Observa-se que as plataformas se distinguem de acordo com a sua função e que essa, por sua vez, é caracterizada de acordo com três critérios preponderantes: os produtos transportados, o mercado atendido e a infraestrutura disponível. Ao fim apresenta-se uma taxonomia que categoriza as plataformas logísticas em cinco categorias, a depender da sua função: i) plataformas de commodities; ii) plataformas industriais; iii) plataformas portuárias; iv) plataformas de distribuição e v) plataformas de logística reversa. A taxonomia proposta condensa os diversos termos pelos quais as plataformas logísticas são conhecidas e consiste numa proposta de classificação que é, concomitantemente, genérica, abrangente e de fácil aplicação.Abstract : The logistics infrastructure of a region consists of various logistics facilities, among which are the logistics centers, which are known by different terms around the world. In order to propose a taxonomy for them, this work first undertakes a literature review to identify the various terms by which these centers are known, and the criteria by which they are classified. Then it focuses on the influence of these criteria in the areas of logistics activities concentrations in three Brazilian states as well as in existing logistics centers in Brazil. It realizes that the systems are distinguished according to their function and that this, in turn, is characterized according to three overriding criteria: the kind of products being transported, the market served and the available infrastructure. Finally, it presents a taxonomy that categorizes logistics centers in five categories, depending on their function: i) commodity logistics centers; ii) industrial logistics center; iii) port logistics centers; iv) distribution centers and v) reverse logistics centers. The taxonomy proposed condenses the various terms by which the logistics centers are known and is a proposed classification which is concomitantly generic, comprehensive and applicable

Proposta Para o Desenvolvimento de um Modelo de Avaliação da Eficácia do Uso da Internet nos Cursos de Graduação na Modalidade Educação à Distância.

A modalidade de Educação a Distância (EaD) baseada na rede mundial de computadores Internet, também chamada de e-learning, é a segunda mais utilizada pelas organizações que oferecem cursos EaD no Brasil. Nas instituições de ensino superior brasileiras, a utilização do e-learning se dá em duas modalidades: a distância e semi-presencial . Mas a incorporação das facilidades oferecidas pela Internet no processo ensino-aprendizagem nos cursos de graduação não tem sido acompanhada por suficiente quantidade de investigações científicas que avaliem se as mesmas atingem os objetivos para os quais são propostas. Por tanto, faz se necessária a elaboração de mecanismos que possibilitem a avaliação da eficácia da utilização da Internet nos referidos cursos. Este artigo apresenta uma proposta de investigação que tem por objetivo elaborar um modelo de avaliação da eficácia da utilização dos recursos oferecidos pela Internet nos cursos de graduação na modalidade a distância. A metodologia para o desenvolvimento do modelo contempla os métodos qualitativos e quantitativos. O modelo a ser desenvolvido poderá ser utilizado não apenas para avaliação de cursos já existentes, más também para guiar a elaboração de novos cursos de graduação na modalidade EaD baseada na Internet

Designing for the pandemic: individual and collective safety devices

The rapid spread of COVID-19 has generated a demand for health-related safety equipment. The development of these emergency products raises several questions, in particular the possible lack of concern for health, satisfaction, and safety of users in addition to the immediate safety against the COVID-19. Considering these issues, the objectives of this work are to categorize, identify trends, and propose strategic approaches to the development and alteration of individual and collective safety solutions for facing the pandemic. For that, we conducted a review and categorization of industrial design products developed during the pandemic using the database Behance. We found 171 developed products. Of these, we classified 99 as individual safety solutions, with the majority being masks and face shields, 59 as being collective safety solutions like disinfection booths, physical transparent separators, and sanitary dispensers. And 13 were solutions geared to hospital use such as hospital furniture, testing solutions, and medical safety procedures. From the analysis of these products, we noted four major themes: protection from the infection, isolation, and physical barriers for enabling safe interaction, disinfection, and testing that can be used as a strategic guideline for the development of new solutions for this context

Participatory budgeting in COVID-19 times: a perspective from local public administration

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the daily lives of populations around the world, affected household economies, forced national and subnational governments to manage declining revenues, and transformed patterns of behavior, practices, and processes. In this context of uncertainty, the barriers imposed by the pandemic have somehow affected the implementation of Participatory Budgeting (PB) in several countries. Brazil was a pioneer in the elaboration and adoption of the mechanism in its municipalities, and Portugal is currently the country with the highest rates of PB implementation worldwide. The goal of the paper is to explore the barriers imposed by the global COVID-19 pandemic on PB, considering the perspective of Brazilian and Portuguese Local Public Administration. The research applied an online survey using a Likert-type scale to assess the perception of municipalities about the barriers imposed by COVID-19 pandemic on PB. Public administration officials responsible for carrying out PB, in both the municipalities of the state of Paraná (Brazil) and the municipalities of Portugal, indicated that the crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the carrying out of the processes. There is a sign that the pandemic imposed the alteration of PB processes. As for the possible restrictive consequences of the crisis on the implementation of the mechanism in the future, they are apparently not entirely clear, according to the municipalities analyzed in the two countries. The perception of public administration officials from Portuguese municipalities and cities in the state of Paraná (Brazil) about the obstacles imposed on PB by COVID-19 pandemic can contribute to the ongoing debate about the barriers caused by the crisis.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
