The objective of this study was to ascertain and analyze the relationship between levels of impulsivity and self-efficacy of amateur SRs in the senior category. A total of 21 Spanish SRs participated in this study (age 23.57 ± 2.40 years and 7.81 ± 2.58 seasons of experience). Self-efficacy data were collected with the REFS questionnaire between 48 and 72 h before the competition. The impulsivity data were collected using the UPPS-P questionnaire 60 min before the start the competition. The results indicate that SRs with higher self-efficacy have lower levels of impulsivity, specifically in the dimensions of negative urgency (p < 0.01), positive urgency (p < 0.05), lack of premeditation (p < 0.001), and lack of perseverance (p < 0.001), as well as lower global impulsivity (p < 0.01). However, the SRs with the highest self-efficacy also obtained higher levels in the sensation seeking dimension (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the main finding of this study showed that self-efficacy is influenced by SR impulsivity prior to competition. These novel facts allow us to discover aspects related to decision-making in refereeing that can be trained to reach optimal levels.Precompetitive Research Projects program for Young Researchers of the Own Plan 2020, of the University of Granada PPJIA2020.04project FEDER/Junta de Andalucia-Consejeria de Transformacion Economica, Industria, Conocimiento y Universidades of the R+D+i project aid program P20_00194Spanish Government RR_A_2021_0

Stress control as well as other psychological characteristics influence sports performance (SP) and could be relevant according to the playing position in team sports, such as the futsal where players have different specific functions within the team. The aim of this study was to analyze the psychological characteristics and profile related to SP of top-level young futsal players, according to the offensive or defensive role. A total of one hundred sixtyseven young promises futsal players participated in this study (84 U16 and 83 U19) and have been chosen to play Championship of Spain Selections. The Psychological Characteristics related to SP for soccer players Questionnaire was used, and one-way ANOVA test was performed based on the playing position (goalkeeper, defender and defender-wing, wing and wing-defender, pivot and wing-pivot, and universal). Results showed that goalkeepers had the best psychological profile and characteristics related to SP. Pivots and wing-pivots had less self-confidence, and universals players, less stress control in relation to the rest of the playing positions (p < 0.05). The main findings revealed that the psychological characteristics and profile related to SP in young promises futsal players are different according to the playing position, and this study suggest the inclusion of psychological-training programs in order to improve the psychological abilities of players, especially for players with offensive role who seek to score goals

    Get PDF
Background and Objectives: The aim of this study was twofold: (i) to observe the individual results of fitness status [countermovement jump (CMJ)], hop test, linear sprinting time, stride frequency, stride distance, force-power-velocity, peak power maximal and maximal speed, and repeated sprint ability (RSA) and functional performance (overhead squat, single-leg squat test, dumbbell hip-hinge, Thomas test, hip extension, and internal and external hip rotators) and (ii) to analyze the relationship between anthropometrical measures and values of fitness status with % of difference in the Thomas test, hip extension, and internal and external hip rotators. Materials and Methods: The study followed a cohort design. Sixteen female soccer players competing in the second division of the Spanish league were monitored during the first days of the pre-season. These players were evaluated three times during the preseason of the cohort period. The dataset showed a negative moderate correlation between time and percentage of difference in hip angle and another positive moderate correlation between maximal sprint and percentage of difference in hip angle (r = -0.54, p = 0.02 and r = 0.53, p = 0.04), respectively. The correlations of stride time and distance with hip extension are interesting, as professional soccer players should have higher levels of hip flexor flexibility during the stride phase, recoil of the instep kick action

This work was supported in part by the Spanish MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER under Grant PID2020-117344RB-I00, and in part by the Regional Government under Grant P20_00265 and Grant P20_00633.As CMOS technology scaling pushes towards the reduction of the length of transistors, electronic circuits face numerous reliability issues, and in particular nodes of D-latches at nano-scale confront multiple-node upset errors due to their operation in harsh radiative environments. In this manuscript, a new high reliable D-latch which can tolerate quadruple-node upsets is presented. The design is based on a low-cost single event double-upset tolerant (LSEDUT) cell and a clock-gating triple-level soft-error interceptive module (CG-SIM). Due to its LSEDUT base, it can tolerate two upsets, but the combination of two LSEDUTs and the triple-level CG-SIM provides the proposed D-latch with remarkable quadruple-node upsets (QNU) tolerance. Applying LSEDUTs for designing a QNU-tolerant D-latch improves considerably its features; in particular, this approach enhances its reliability against process variations, such as threshold voltage and (W/L) transistor variability, compared to previous QNU-tolerant D-latches and double-node-upset tolerant latches. Furthermore, the proposed D-latch not only tolerates QNUs, but it also features a clear advantage in comparison with the previous clock gating-based quadruple-node-upset-tolerant (QNUTL-CG) D-latch: it can mask single event transients. Speci c gures of merit endorse the gains introduced by the new design: compared with the QNUTL-CG D-latch, the improvements of the maximum standard deviations of the gate delay, induced by threshold voltage and (W/L) transistors variability of the proposed D-latch, are 13.8% and 5.7%, respectively. Also, the proposed D-latch has 23% lesser maximum standard deviation in power consumption, resulting from threshold voltage variability, when compared to the QNUTL-CG D-latch.Spanish MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER under Grant PID2020-117344RB-I00Regional Government under Grant P20_00265 and Grant P20_0063

The aim of the present study was to examine the effect´s relevance of scoring first in knockout promotion to the Spanish Liga Smartbank and succeeding´s probability in the knockout round according to contextual parameters. The sample consisted in all knockout rounds not ending scoreless (n = 199) played in the knockout promotion to Spanish Liga Smartbank between 2004/2005 to 2018/2019 season. Data were examined by descriptive analysis, chi-square tests and binary logistic regressions. Results shown statistically significant values when scoring first and moving through to the next qualifying round (χ² [1 df] = 32.37; p < .001). Teams opening knockout round as a home team and scoring first, move through to the next round 61.7% of times while teams opening knockout round as an away team and scoring first, move through to the next round 79.4% of the times (Total OR = 6.19). Moreover, significant results were found relative to the importance of gaining advantage in first-leg match and scoring first in the second-leg match. This information could be useful for coaches and performance analysts, being applicable to competition in order to prevent the opposite team from scoring a goal and to find tactical options that allow your team getting ahead on the scoreboard

Self-concept influences identity and the way that people behave, and it fluctuates over time. The main purpose of this study was to analyze fluctuations in the dimensions of self-concept as a function of gender, educational level, grade, age, physical activity, and weight. In total, 712 Spanish adolescents who were in the 5th and 8th grades (354 boys and 358 girls) and 10 to 14 years old (M = 11.9; SD = 1.3) participated in this study. The Self-Concept Questionnaire, Form 5 was used to analyze several dimensions of self-concept (academic, social, emotional, family, and physical), using the average scores in each dimension. The data showed strong differences in the dimensions of self-concept during the school transition. Middle-school students, compared to elementary-school students, showed significantly lower levels in almost all dimensions (academic, social, family, and physical). Furthermore, student age was a negative predictor of the social and academic dimensions, explaining 33% and 37% of the variance, respectively. Educational level and grade were smaller factors influencing the academic dimension (explaining 29% and 25% of the variance, respectively). The main findings revealed that the school transition and, specifically, increased age were associated with a lower self-concept. These results help us understand the need to strengthen psychological and educational self-concept at school

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the effect of a standard physical rehabilitation intervention (SPRI) program, in pool-based (SPRI-P) and land-based (SPRI-L) environments, applied to female fibromyalgia (FM) patients with mild-to-moderate symptoms during a period of 20 weeks. Patients and methods: Between September 2016 and September 2017, a total of 73 female FM patients (mean age 48.2±6.8 years; range, 30 to 59 years) who suffered from FM were included in this study on a voluntary basis. The SPRI program was applied to the patients for 20 weeks. The severity of FM was assessed using the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire. The dependent variables including selfperceived pain, perceived fatigue, aerobic capacity, depressive symptoms, and the overall impact of FM were evaluated. Results: Self-perceived pain, perceived fatigue, overall impact of FM (p<0.05) and depressive symptoms (p<0.001) of the participants in the SPRI-P program decreased in the post-test values, compared to the pre-test values. Using the SPRI-L program, a significant improvement in the aerobic capacity (maximum consumption of relative oxygen and distance in meters), overall impact of FM (p<0.05), and depressive symptoms (p<0.01) was observed. Conclusion: Our study results indicated that the SPRI-P program yielded improvements in patients with FM in self-perceived pain, perceived fatigue, depressive symptoms, and overall impact, as well as improving the aerobic capacity. In addition, in the SPRI-L program, the participants increased their capacities, self-perceived pain, and overall impact of FM

The Possible Early Medieval Church in La Solana I (Móstoles, Madrid). Its Central Location and Links to the Village Settlement

Currently, the building is being considered a rural church. The style of the objects is similar to that of a few sites in the province of Toledo, south of the Tagus, dating from the late 7th century and the 8th century AD. Barely a kilometer east of that building, the village Arroyo de Viñas flourished at least in the 13th century, although it seems it was already deserted by the late 14th century. The hermitage of San Marcos was a very stable magnet for a group of neighboring villages until the beginning of the 19th century

Problem Statement: Soccer players may behave differently in competition depending on various characteristics of the environment around them, as well as the possible strengths and limitations of internal characteristics. In addition, there are some studies about the physical demands according to the results (winners vs. losers). Approach: Knowledge of contextual factors such as imbalance in decision making and physical behavior in soccer competition. Purpose: The aims of this study were to know the effect of contextual variables (match location, field dimensions, opponent level, and match outcome) on the physical performance of semi-professional soccer players and, to know the interaction between these factors to achieve sports success. Methods: One hundred forty events in Spanish male semi-professional soccer players during the 2021-2022 season were analysed. WIMU devices (SportTrack®) of 18 Hz. and SPRO software were used. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Chi-square, and logistic regression tests were performed. Results: A greater physical performance was shown when the team played at home and in large fields. Regarding the match outcome, players covered higher total distance and walking distance when they won (p < .05). In addition, the sports success in the competition was associated with the field dimensions and the opponent level (x2 [2, n=105] = 16.737, p = .000, x2 (2, n=96) = 8.304, p = .016; respectively). Conclusions: Contextual factors influenced the physical performance of semi-professional players in official competition. Field dimensions and opponent level affected the sports success in competition. This study has shown relevant information for the technical staff of the semi-professional soccer teams in order to propose new keys and ways of planning training sessions
