Competencias argumentativas y creencias epistemológicas en universitarios.

This paper describes the levels of argumentative competences identified in a sample of university students and their relation to epistemological beliefs. In order to identify the argumentative competences of the students, an instrument of open answers was created around the issue of unemployment. To measure the epistemological beliefs, an instrument consisting of 63 items was applied (Schommer, 1990). The analysis of the two instruments was carried out and reliability and validity were obtained.En este trabajo se describen los niveles de competencias argumentativas identificados en una muestra del alumnado universitario y su relación con las creencias epistemológicas.  Para identificar las competencias argumentativas del alumnado se construyó un instrumento de respuestas abiertas en torno al tema del desempleo.  Para medir las creencias epistemológicas se aplicó un instrumento constituido por 63 ítems (Schommer, 1990).  Se realizó el análisis de los dos instrumentos y se obtuvo la fiabilidad y la validez. 

La elaboración democrática de las normas de convivencia en el aula: una estrategia participativa

This research stems from the necessity to come up with an educational tool to improve the coexistence in the classroom. It is based on the building of the rules of the class group with the participation of families, students and teachers. For this, a questionary activity was built and validated. It was made up of some students’ behaviors items which can upset the development of the educational activity properly. This was filled in the pretest and the postest by 18 students and 8 teachers that made up the experimental group and by 18 students and 8 teachers in the control group. The pretest aim is to characterize the behaviors in which the teachers and students agree in which are occurred more frequently in each group. Afterwards, an intervention was developed within the experimental group through a process of building the rules in the classroom. For this, some activities have been developed, among them a discussion group. After the intervention, the questionary was filled in newly (postest), resulting in a significant improvement of intervention.Esta investigación surge de la necesidad de aportar una herramienta educativa para mejorar la convivencia en el aula, basada en la construcción de las normas del grupo clase con  la participación de familias, alumnado y profesorado.  Para ello, se construyó y validó un cuestionario formado por un  inventario de conductas del alumnado que pueden alterar el adecuado desarrollo de la actividad educativa. Vector-based word representations for sentiment analysis: a comparative study

New applications of text categorization methods like opinion mining and sentiment analysis, author profiling and plagiarism detection requires more elaborated and effective document representation models than classical Information Retrieval approaches like the Bag of Words representation. In this context, word representation models in general and vector-based word representations in particular have gained increasing interest to overcome or alleviate some of the limitations that Bag of Words-based representations exhibit. In this article, we analyze the use of several vector-based word representations in a sentiment analysis task with movie reviews. Experimental results show the effectiveness of some vector-based word representations in comparison to standard Bag of Words representations. CONCEPCIONES DE LOS PROFESORES DE EDUCACIÓN SECUNDARIA SOBRE EVALUACIÓN

Con el presente trabajo pretendemos hacer una conceptualización del término concepción. Tradicionalmente, las concepciones han sido consideradas por los investigadores como un constructo que engloba el conocimiento personal que los seres humanos poseen. Este término no es exclusivo, en el campo educativo el término concepción coexiste con términos tales como representación, creencias, ideas,teorías personales, actitudes, perspectivas.... Las concepciones de los sujetos se gestan sobre la base de la interacción de tres elementos: la naturaleza bio-antropológica, es decir, el proceso evolutivo seguido como especie y su influencia en el conocimiento; los aspectos históricos que permiten conservar y transmitir nuestras experiencias pasadas; el conjunto de elementos derivados de nuestra particularidad psicológica. En la segunda parte del trabajo realizamos un estudio empírico para detectar cuáles son las concepciones de los profesores respecto a una serie de tópicos: qué evaluar, cuándo evaluar, cómo debe evaluarse, cómo mejorar la evaluación, qué es evaluar... Para esto, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a profesores de secundaria. Las respuestas dadas se sometieron a análisis utilizando con soporte informático el programa Aquad (versión 3.0). Traditionally, researchers have considered conceptions as a construct that includes the personal knowledge that tuman beings possess. It is not an exclusive term; in the educative field the term conception coexists with other designations as representation, beliefs, ideas, personal theories, attitudes, perspectives... People's conceptions arise from the interaction of three elements: the bioantrhopological nature, that is, the evolutionary process followed as species and its influence in knowledge; historical aspects that allow to preserve and transmit our past experiences; the whole of elements derived from our psychological particularity. In the second part of the work, we carried out an empirical study to detect which are the teachers conceptions in relation to the a series oftopics: what to evalúate, when to evalúate, how we should evalúate, how to improve evaluation, what it is to evalúate. In order to accomplish this, we made halfstructured interviews on secondary teachers. The given answers underwent an analysis using the software Aguad (3.0 versión).
