Researches whose results are presented in this paper are on the topic of optimizing the dosing and sacking process in small and medium capacity productive units..The technological equipment for weighing and automated management EWAM, developed at INMA Bucharest performes simultaneously two operations: automated bag weighing of the programmed quantity of product and automated management of the quantities of sacked finished products on an indefinite period of time.In this paper there are presented the experimental researches for this equipment, working quality indices determined with highlighting the advantages of using this type of technical equipment in the flow of small and medium capacity milling units in villages

Olipo-wet olive pomace, a new renewable source for leather retanning

    Get PDF
The aim of OLIPO project is to find suitable extraction methods for an important waste of olive oil production, wet olive pomace, in view of reclaiming it as tanning and retanning material, alternative to petroleum origin materials. The total volume of wet olive pomace in Mediterranean countries where olive crops are traditional is about 80% of processed olives and is the result of a two-phase continuous extraction process. Wet olive pomace is rich in polyphenolic compounds, fats, tannins, non-tannins, possible to be extracted, concentrated, chemical processed in view of developing a new tanning product. The use of new renewable materials from oil industry as biobased tanning material for leather industry represents an important step in lowering carbon footprint of both sectors and complies with circular economy principles. The antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of olive oil pomace can be exploited in view of increasing the efficiency of the new product. The paper presents the characterisation of four kinds of wet olive pomace wastes, water and water-organic solvent extracts as tanning materials in order to select the methods for a new tanning material elaboration and testing on leathers in retanning processes. The works were supported by a grant of the Romanian National Authority for Science Research and Innovation, CCCDI-UEFISCDI, project numbers 144 and 145/2020, ERANET-MANUNET-OLIPO-1 and 2, within PNCDI III and by the Operational Program Human Capital of the Ministry of European Funds through the Financial Agreement 51668/2019, SMIS 124705

The paper reports the successful application of membranes processes to obtain the good quality extracts with compounds of high antioxidative activity and therapeutic value. This study provided investigations on the phenolic compounds from two plant species used in Romanian ethno-medicine and evaluated the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities. Three extracts prepared from Geranium robertianum and Symphytum officinale were concentrated by microfiltration and ultrafiltration. The levels of phenolic compounds and flavonoids were determined by UV-Vis spectroscopy and HPLC. The freeradical scavenging activity of concentrated extracts was determined by DPPH method. The preliminary tests of cytotoxic activity for the concentrated extracts have been carried out on human epidermoid laryngeal carcinoma cell line (Hep-2p) and normal monkey kidneys cells (RM). The results showed that all concentrated extracts had a very low cytotoxicity against healthy cells, but a significant cytotoxic effect on Hep-2p tumor cells. The concentrated extracts have a high antioxidant activity (% DPPH inhibition > 80%)

Abstract. The research which results are herein presented, tackle the dosage process optimization in small and medium-sized enterprises. The technical dosage equipment ETD can be interposed in a mill technological flow, in different points of processing the quantitative information, according to the electronic unit program, as well as within combined fodder factories, where several dosage installations may be coupled, and through a central computer, different networks can be achieved, by means of appropriate adjustments. Within the technological flow, the technical dosage equipment performs two main functions: 1) automated setting of product flow rate for a programmed value and maintaining this value within certain preset limits, by respecting the regulations in force concerning the dosage precision imposed for this equipment type; 2) automated control of quantities of products passing through the dosage equipment in a certain period of time. In this paper the experimental tests for this equipment, the determined working qualitative indexes are presented by emphasizing the advantages of using this equipment type in small and medium-sized milling enterprises in rural areas

Variations in growth and reproduction measurements of Trachurus mediterraneus from the Romanian Black Sea Coast

International audienceAs the horse mackerel Trachurus mediterraneus (Steindachner, 1868) is one of the most exploited commercial species of the Black Sea fisheries, the knowledge of its different biological aspects related to growth and reproduction is highly important. This paper presents preliminary results of the analysis of morphological measurements (total length, total weight), Fulton relative body condition index, age, sex and degree of maturity of the horse mackerel population from the Romanian Black Sea coast. 563 individuals were collected between June and November in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018, from trawl and trap net catches. Their mean total length was 11.4 +/- 2.4 cm, their mean total weight was14.4 +/- 8.5 g and they had between 0 and 4+ years with a mean age of 1.7 +/- 1.1 years. The data analyses of their measurements highlighted significant temporal differences between years and months, but no differences occurred between areas and sexes. These results should contribute to a better knowledge of the biology of the horse mackerel and may help to improve the management of the stock of this species for sustainable fisheries

Internal Friction Phenomena at Polymeric and Metallic Shape Memory Materials. Experimental and Theoretical Results

    No full text
The internal friction phenomenon in metallic and polymeric shape memory materials is analyzed. The experimental results permit validation of a theoretical model which describes qualitatively the temperature dependence of the internal friction for the investigated materials. Moreover, theoretical model accepts not only evaluations of different states of material (solid state structural transformations as martensite-austenite) but also materials very different as nature (metallic or plastic)
