Quasiparticles energy relaxation times in NbN/CuNi nanostripes from critical velocity measurements
The dynamic instability of the moving vortex lattice at high driving currents in NbN/CuNi-based and NbN nanostripes designed for optical detection has been studied. By applying the model proposed by Larkin and Ovchinnikov [Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 68, 1915 (1975)], from the critical velocity v∗ for the occurrence of the instability, it was possible to estimate the values of the quasiparticle relaxation times τE. The results show that the NbN/CuNi-based devices are characterized by shorter values of τE compared to that of NbN
Platform of Citizen Interaction: the contribution to the governability of New TIC´s and Citizen Relational Management
Understanding "governability" as an interaction process among government and society, the New Technologies of Information and Communications (NTICs) can contribute as a strategy of improvement and conversion in the type of communication between both actors. This article introduces concepts referred to Customer Relationship Management applications turned into Citizen Relationship Management tools. The plus of a modeling of the multiplatforms functionalities that this solution offers and a protocol of implementation and system migration is a step forward in the achievement of obtaining an electronic government with civil democratic interaction and transparency in the management. The idea of a Platform of Citizen Interaction that auspice as a repository of the communication between public and civil entities allows having a unique and centralized database capable of being segmented of different ways to attend to a great diversity of subject matters.VIII Workshop Innovación en Sistemas de Software (WISS).Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI

Procedure di record linkage in epidemiologia: uno studio multicentrico italiano, Record-linkage procedures in epidemiology: an italian multicentre study
Abstract Objective: to compare record linkage (RL) procedures adopted in several Italian settings and a standard probabilistic RL procedure for matching data from electronic health care databases. Design: two health care archives are matched: the hospital discharges (HD) archive and the population registry of four Italian areas. Exact deterministic, stepwise deterministic techniques and a standard probabilistic RL procedure are applied to match HD for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and diabetes mellitus. Sensitivity and specificity for RL procedures are estimated after manual review. Age and gender standardized annual hospitalization rates for AMI and diabetes are computed using different RL procedures and compared
5G Mobile Transport and Computing Platform for verticals
The support of 5G verticals service requires todesign an efficient Mobile Transport and Computing Platformwhere transport, mobile and MEC must interact effectively. Inthis paper, a novel architecture is proposed providing itsmapping on ETSI NFV. Two relevant use cases, such asautomotive and cloud robotics are presented to assess the novelarchitecture. This work has been partially funded by the EU H2020 5G-Transformer Project (grant no. 761536)

Role of DNA repair machinery and p53 in the testicular germ cell cancer: a review
Notwithstanding the peculiar sensitivity to cisplatin-based treatment, resulting in a very high percentage of cures even in advanced stages of the disease, still we do not know the biological mechanisms that make Testicular Germ Cell Tumor (TGCT) "unique" in the oncology scene. p53 and MDM2 seem to play a pivotal role, according to several in vitro observations, but no correlation has been found between their mutational or expression status in tissue samples and patients clinical outcome. Furthermore, other players seem to be on stage: DNA Damage Repair Machinery (DDR) , especially Homologous Recombination (HR) proteins, above all Ataxia Telangiectasia Mutated (ATM), cooperates with p53 in response to DNA damage, activating apoptotic cascade and contributing to cell "fate". Homologous Recombination deficiency has been assumed to be a Germ Cell Tumor characteristic underlying platinum-sensitivity, whereby Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), an enzyme involved in HR DNA repair, is an intriguing target: PARP inhibitors have already entered in clinical practice of other malignancies and trials are recruiting TGCT patients in order to validate their role in this disease. This paper aims to summarize evidence, trying to outline an overview of DDR implications not only in TGCT curability, but also in resistance to chemotherapy
Measurement of the cosmic ray spectrum above eV using inclined events detected with the Pierre Auger Observatory
A measurement of the cosmic-ray spectrum for energies exceeding
eV is presented, which is based on the analysis of showers
with zenith angles greater than detected with the Pierre Auger
Observatory between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2013. The measured spectrum
confirms a flux suppression at the highest energies. Above
eV, the "ankle", the flux can be described by a power law with
index followed by
a smooth suppression region. For the energy () at which the
spectral flux has fallen to one-half of its extrapolated value in the absence
of suppression, we find
eV.Comment: Replaced with published version. Added journal reference and DO
