Origin of the high energy neutrino flux at IceCube

We discuss the spectrum of the different components in the astrophysical neutrino flux reaching the Earth and the possible contribution of each component to the high-energy IceCube data. We show that the diffuse flux from cosmic ray interactions with gas in our galaxy implies just 2 events among the 54 event sample. We argue that the neutrino flux from cosmic ray interactions in the intergalactic (intracluster) space depends critically on the transport parameter $\delta$ describing the energy dependence in the diffusion coefficient of galactic cosmic rays. Our analysis motivates a E^{-2.1} neutrino spectrum with a drop at PeV energies that fits well the data, including the non-observation of the Glashow resonance at 6.3 PeV. We also show that a cosmic ray flux described by an unbroken power law may produce a neutrino flux with interesting spectral features (bumps and breaks) related to changes in the cosmic ray composition.Comment: 19 pages, new section about changes in CR composition, version to appear in Ap

Estudio de variables psicológicas en una muestra de golfistas de alto rendimiento

Treball Final de Grau en Psicologia. Codi: PS1048. Curs acadèmic: 2016/2017Psychology, in high performance sport, has become in a very determinant point over the years. In sports field, having a good domain of psychology skills can suppose a big difference between other athletes, and in case of golf, using these abilities with establishment of competition routines it’s very effective to achieve a better performance. This study proposes to evaluate some basic characteristics of personality, sport motivations, success expectations, anxiety and stress, and check how they relate to each other in a sample of golfers composed by 11 athletes between 16 and 18 years old, 6 of which are women and 5 are men. The instrument used to carry out the study was the test battery BTPD-S of Fernández, Fernández y Mielgo (1999), which is composed by 6 relatively independent scales (personality, sport motivations, sport success expectations, benefits of sport for health and psychological well-being, anxiety and stress in high performance sport). The results showed better average marks than normative group. We have also checked that the analyzed variables are related to each other in the way expected.En el deporte de alto rendimiento, la psicología del deporte se ha convertido, con el paso de los años, en un elemento cada vez más determinante. En el deporte en general, tener un buen dominio de las habilidades psicológicas puede suponer una gran diferencia con los demás deportistas, y en el caso del golf el uso de estas habilidades junto con el establecimiento de rutinas de competición resulta ser muy efectivo para conseguir un buen rendimiento. El presente estudio se propone evaluar algunas de las características básicas de personalidad, motivaciones en el deporte, expectativas de éxito, ansiedad y estrés, así como comprobar cómo se relacionan entre sí en una muestra de golfistas de alto rendimiento compuesta por 11 deportistas con edades comprendidas entre 16 y 18 años, 6 de las cuales son mujeres y 5 son varones. El instrumento utilizado para llevar a cabo el estudio ha sido la batería de test BTPD-S de Fernández, Fernández y Mielgo (1999), el cual está formado por 6 escalas relativamente independientes (personalidad, motivaciones en el deporte, expectativas de éxito deportivo, beneficios del deporte para la salud y el bienestar psicológico, ansiedad y estrés en el deporte de alta competición). Los resultados mostraban unas puntuaciones medias mejores que las del grupo normativo de la batería utilizada. También hemos comprobado que las variables analizadas se relacionan entre sí de la forma esperada

Forma y Color: La Grisalla en la Pintura; Aproximación a un procedimiento inadvertido

Aunque se asocie el término grisalla con pintura monocroma, también es un procedimiento de pintura policroma, con la particularidad que divide el proceso de trabajo en dos fases diferenciadas, tratando por separado la forma y el color. Pese a su actual desconocimiento, esta variante ha sido uno de los métodos predilectos de los pintores desde la Edad Media hasta el siglo XVII; manteniéndose viva hasta nuestros días. En este artículo pretendemos aclarar esta cara oculta de la grisalla, secuenciando su proceso de trabajo -y sus variantes-, exponiendo sus rasgos más significativos; constatando la transversalidad de su principio, al ser adaptado a la pintura de vitrales, ilustraciones, grabados, esmaltes e incluso la fotografía y el cine. Development of an online multiplayer game with augmented reality capabilities for android devices

Curs acadèmic: 2017/2018This End-of-Degree project consists of the development of an Online Multiplayer game using Augmented Reality technology. The objective of the project was to develop a multiplayer online game that used the camera device to place a digital environment on a flat surface using Augmented Reality technology where the players would have played. There is no need for the players to be together in the same room as the scenario is shared across all the players. The game is a “Bomberman” like type of game with fully network capabilities developed using Unity3D and is played on Android devices. The users will play on a predefined arena in which they can move and drop bombs using a virtual joystick and a virtual button. The bombs explode after three seconds and have a certain blast radius. The objective is to eliminate the other players using the bombs. There are crates around the arena that can be destroyed by the explosions and have a chance to drop different power-ups

Para sacar amplias conclusiones así como para analizar las desigualdad que encontramos en función del contexto, se han escogido dos tipos de escuela altamente diferenciables: una escuela rural agrupada (CRA) y un centro de acción educativa singular (CAES). Por ello, el primer paso en esta investigación ha sido observar tanto la ubicación del colegio como si el tipo de escuela influye en el grado de implicación de los familiares. Además se han analizado los factores externos que condicionan de menor a mayor medida este hecho, como por ejemplo los tipos de familias existentes y el barrio. Por otra parte se han investigado las estrategias que los centros utilizan para conseguir el vínculo entre escuela-familia así como el doble esfuerzo que supone para el profesorado en los centros de baja implicación. Para saber si estas expectativas son ciertas, se ha profundizado en ambos observando el interés que ponen los padres en la escuela en el día a día y la visión que tienen tanto de ella como de su profesorado con la finalidad de conseguir una línea progresiva educativa entre ambos

These companies usually have interesting products, with a already existing business model, although they need to obtain more external resources in order to explode and become larger companies. There comes a time when the contribution of the partners who run the company or the potential benefits the company has obtained in previous years are not enough to enable the company to take the next step in its natural path. In order to get this financing, the companies have several options in the world today, each with its pros and cons, which the companies themselves should take into account. In addition, it is especially important evolution in terms of results of the exercises the company develops. These results can mark out, of course, the path of society and its funding needs in coming years. This situation is what we see in the company we will talk about in this document, Zinkia Entertainment S.A. A company with a thriving product in its field, which is beginning to gain international recognition and which needs an extra push to liberate all the potential of a newborn trend. We will see which decisions the company administration takes, how the company walked the first steps in the search for funding and what different path the company chose at any given time. We will reflect on why the company decided to carry out a change of strategy and we will think about the consequences those decisions will have in the coming years. We will also discuss the situation of the company before and after the decisions taken, and what is the company situation when the results turn out not to be the expected ones. In this process for raising finance, external entities were involved, and we should also focus on them briefly. So, we will describe what additional options Zinkia has as a part of a stock market as the AIM. Also, we will detail which differences exist between this market and other better known markets, and if these differences may have been meaningful when explaining the situation the company undergoes nowadays. In addition, we will see what happens when a body such as the CNMV gives a negative judgment when a company in a difficult situation, as Zinkia, tries to capture funding. On the other hand, the importance of shareholder stability within a company trying to expand should also be remarked. This does not happen in Zinkia, and we shall describe briefly the struggle for power, which is still in force in society; a struggle, compounded by the decisions of a president who makes decisions with the sole support of majority shareholder, against the opinion of other important at a particularly delicate moment in the life of Zinkia. In order to analyze the path of Zinkia, we will structure information as follows. First, we will briefly describe the objectives of this document and the methodology to be followed. Then, we will divide the path of Zinkia into three sections. In the first section, we will narrate the situation of the company since 2008 until the end of 2010. It is at this time, at the end of 2010, when Zinkia changes course regarding its funding strategy. After this first block, we will analyze the situation of the company since late 2010 until the end of 2013.
