Non linear excess conductivity of BiSrCaCuO (n = 1,2), thin films
The suppression of excess conductivity with electric field is studied for
BiSrCaCuO ( = 1, 2) thin films. A pulse-probe
technique is used, which allows for an estimate of the sample temperature. The
characteristic electric field for fluctuations suppression is found well below
the expected value for all samples. For the material, a scaling of the
excess conductivity with electric field and temperature is obtained, similar to
the scaling under strong magnetic field
Vortex State and Field-Angle Resolved Specific Heat Oscillation for H // ab in d-Wave Superconductors
When magnetic field is applied parallel to the ab plane in d_{x^2-y^2}-wave
superconductors, the transition of stable vortex lattice structure, spatial
structure of local density of states, and specific heat oscillation by rotation
of magnetic field orientation are investigated by quantitative calculations
based on the selfconsistent Eilenberger theory. We estimate how the vortex
state changes depending on the relative angle between the node-direction of the
superconducting gap and magnetic field orientation. To reproduce the
sign-change of specific heat oscillation observed in CeCoIn_5, our study is
done by including strong paramagnetic effect. The quantitative theoretical
calculations give decisive information to analyze the experimental data on the
field-angle dependence, and establish the angle-resolved specific heat
experiment as a spectroscopic means to identify the node-position of the
superconducting gap.Comment: 9 pages, 13 figure
Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov State in Heavy Fermion Superconductors
The Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state is a novel superconducting
state in a strong magnetic field characterized by the formation of Cooper pairs
with nonzero total momentum (k \uparrow, -k+q \downarrow), instead of the
ordinary BCS pairs (k \uparrow, -k \downarrow). A fascinating aspect of the
FFLO state is that it exhibits inhomogeneous superconducting phases with a
spatially oscillating order parameter and spin polarization. The FFLO state has
been of interest in various research fields, not only in superconductors in
solid state physics, but also in neutral Fermion superfluid of ultracold atomic
gases and in color superconductivity in high energy physics. In spite of
extensive studies of various superconductors, there has been no undisputed
experimental verification of the FFLO state, mainly because of the very
stringent conditions required of the superconducting materials. Among several
classes of materials, certain heavy fermion and organic superconductors are
believed to provide conditions that are favorable to the formation of the FFLO
state. This review presents recent experimental and theoretical developments of
the FFLO state mainly in heavy fermion superconductors. In particular we
address the recently discovered quasi-two-dimensional superconductor CeCoIn_5,

Synthesis and Anticancer Evaluation of Benzimidazole Derivatives Having Norbornene/Dibenzobarrelene Skeletons and Different Functional Groups
Effect of an early supervised rehabilitation programme compared with home-based exercise after temporomandibular joint condylar discopexy: a randomized controlled trial.
The goal of rehabilitation after temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery is to achieve a normal range of motion. The aim of this study was to compare the impact of a comprehensive and early supervised rehabilitation programme with home based exercise after TMJ condylar discopexy. Patients diagnosed with disc displacement without reduction were randomized to the study and control groups. After baseline assessments, the same surgical condylar discopexy procedure was applied to both groups. Following surgery, the study group patients underwent a supervised exercise programme conducted by a physiotherapist in the outpatient clinic. This comprised 30-min sessions 3 days per week for 8 weeks in the hospital. The control group patients performed the same exercise programme at home. Maximum mouth opening (MMO), protrusion, and right and left lateral movements were measured. Based on the results, the supervised rehabilitation programme yielded significantly better outcomes for pain at rest and with activity, MMO, and protrusion compared with the home-based exercise programme. Also certain parameters of quality of life improved significantly in the study group. In conclusion, exercise therapy is the cornerstone of rehabilitation of the TMJ, and a supervised rehabilitation programme after TMJ surgery is effective in improving. functional parameters
