Dark Tourism in the land of Sunshine: An intercultural business model for the routes of death and disaster in Portugal
The main goal of this dissertation is the creation and subsequent implementation of dark tourism routes in Portugal, following a business model that already exists in other cultures. This typology of tourism is an extension of cultural tourism and is classified by the search for places where once disasters, suffering and death occurred. Thus, concentration camps, inactive prisons, serial killers' homes, cemeteries, and all other places that fit into the patterns of death, tragedy and suffering can be considered dark tourism sites.
In Portugal, there are some places associated with the practice of dark tourism, although this type of business is not yet sufficiently explored. Therefore, this dissertation intends to use the country’s heritage, which is one of the levers for promoting tourism and an important factor of development, thus justifying the elaboration of a conceptual map associated with tourism.
With the delineation of routes in this dissertation, we intend not only to introduce this market niche in the country, but also to contribute innovatively to the tourist dynamics, in order to blur the existing seasonality, which arises from the demand for sun and sea tourism.
With the conception and design of these routes, we intend to make a pioneering contribution to the creation of a platform to promote dark tourism in the country. The creation of a business model and a marketing plan results from the need to assess the viability of the implementation of this project, and to discuss the best strategies for implementing it
Annual Changes In A Bird Assembly On Artificial Perches: Implications For Ecological Restoration In A Subtropical Agroecosystem
Artificial perches are used in tropical forest restoration projects to increase the dispersal of seeds into restored areas. The ability of perches to enhance seed deposition depends on their ability to attract seed dispersing birds, as well as the correlation between the season of bird visits to perches and the phenology of fruit production in adjacent forests. Using data collected from a large-scale restoration project, we characterized the community of birds that utilize artificial perches over the course of one year. We hypothesized that the structure of a bird assemblage that uses artificial perches is affected by seasonal variation. We aimed to describe the richness, abundance and diversity of a bird assemblage on artificial perches in a subtropical Atlantic forest restoration experiment in Southern Brazil. Richness and abundance estimates of the avian fauna were obtained from eight artificial perches placed in four experimental plots (B2 y-old). Parameters of richness and abundance were compared using ANOVA. The bird assemblage was described using SHE analysis [richness (S), diversity (H’) and evenness (E)], with additional estimates of occurrence and dominance. In total, 451 records of 32 ± 3.16 SD species were obtained. Thraupidae was the most numerous family (nine species, 28.12% of the total). Richness and abundance varied seasonally and were highest during spring and summer. Five migratory species of flycatchers were recorded between spring and early autumn. Perches were ineffective in attracting specialized frugivorous birds, emphasizing that seed dispersal tends to be carried out primarily by generalist omnivores in the initial phase of forest regeneration. © 2016, Universidade Estadual de Campinas UNICAMP. organic crystals: superconducting versus antiferromagnetic instabilities in an anisotropic triangular lattice Hubbard model
A Hubbard model at half-filling on an anisotropic triangular lattice has been
proposed as the minimal model to describe conducting layers of
organic materials. The model interpolates between the
square lattice and decoupled chains. The materials
present many similarities with cuprates, such as the presence of unconventional
metallic properties and the close proximity of superconducting and
antiferromagnetic phases. As in the cuprates, spin fluctuations are expected to
play a crucial role in the onset of superconductivity. We perform a
weak-coupling renormalization-group analysis to show that a superconducting
instability occurs. Frustration in the antiferromagnetic couplings, which
arises from the underlying geometrical arrangement of the lattice, breaks the
perfect nesting of the square lattice at half-filling. The spin-wave
instability is suppressed and a superconducting instability predominates. For
the isotropic triangular lattice, there are again signs of long-range magnetic

Linear Response, Validity of Semi-Classical Gravity, and the Stability of Flat Space
A quantitative test for the validity of the semi-classical approximation in
gravity is given. The criterion proposed is that solutions to the
semi-classical Einstein equations should be stable to linearized perturbations,
in the sense that no gauge invariant perturbation should become unbounded in
time. A self-consistent linear response analysis of these perturbations, based
upon an invariant effective action principle, necessarily involves metric
fluctuations about the mean semi-classical geometry, and brings in the
two-point correlation function of the quantum energy-momentum tensor in a
natural way. This linear response equation contains no state dependent
divergences and requires no new renormalization counterterms beyond those
required in the leading order semi-classical approximation. The general linear
response criterion is applied to the specific example of a scalar field with
arbitrary mass and curvature coupling in the vacuum state of Minkowski
spacetime. The spectral representation of the vacuum polarization function is
computed in n dimensional Minkowski spacetime, and used to show that the flat
space solution to the semi-classical Einstein equations for n=4 is stable to

Noise Kernel and Stress Energy Bi-Tensor of Quantum Fields in Hot Flat Space and Gaussian Approximation in the Optical Schwarzschild Metric
Continuing our investigation of the regularization of the noise kernel in
curved spacetimes [N. G. Phillips and B. L. Hu, Phys. Rev. D {\bf 63}, 104001
(2001)] we adopt the modified point separation scheme for the class of optical
spacetimes using the Gaussian approximation for the Green functions a la
Bekenstein-Parker-Page. In the first example we derive the regularized noise
kernel for a thermal field in flat space. It is useful for black hole
nucleation considerations. In the second example of an optical Schwarzschild
spacetime we obtain a finite expression for the noise kernel at the horizon and
recover the hot flat space result at infinity. Knowledge of the noise kernel is
essential for studying issues related to black hole horizon fluctuations and
Hawking radiation backreaction. We show that the Gaussian approximated Green
function which works surprisingly well for the stress tensor at the
Schwarzschild horizon produces significant error in the noise kernel there. We
identify the failure as occurring at the fourth covariant derivative order.Comment: 21 pages, RevTeX
Noise induced transitions in semiclassical cosmology
A semiclassical cosmological model is considered which consists of a closed
Friedmann-Robertson-Walker in the presence of a cosmological constant, which
mimics the effect of an inflaton field, and a massless, non-conformally coupled
quantum scalar field. We show that the back-reaction of the quantum field,
which consists basically of a non local term due to gravitational particle
creation and a noise term induced by the quantum fluctuations of the field, are
able to drive the cosmological scale factor over the barrier of the classical
potential so that if the universe starts near zero scale factor (initial
singularity) it can make the transition to an exponentially expanding de Sitter
phase. We compute the probability of this transition and it turns out to be
comparable with the probability that the universe tunnels from "nothing" into
an inflationary stage in quantum cosmology. This suggests that in the presence
of matter fields the back-reaction on the spacetime should not be neglected in

O futuro da profissão de auditoria
Technology is evolving at an unbridled pace, some sectors are not failing to keep up with this evolution. It is estimated that the information processed worldwide in the last 2 years represents 90% of the total information ever created. Software is replacing professionals all over the world, mainly in areas such as accounting, routine data processing tasks are performed without human input and automatically. As the audit profession is highly dependent on data analysis, it is important to understand the impact that this evolution will have on the auditor's life.
This dissertation aims to describe the audit profession in this context of global technological evolution. The literature review made it possible to fit into important theoretical concepts and understand how these concepts translate into the audit profession. With the empirical study carried out, the objective is to demonstrate the impacts of these new technologies on the auditor's life.
The empirical study was supported by a research with a quantitative analysis, through the use of an inquiry. Through this, it was possible to conclude that the new technologies, despite presenting new risks for the external audit, also present themselves as an opportunity to develop works with more quality and efficiency.A tecnologia está a evoluir a um ritmo desenfreado, alguns setores não estão a conseguir acompanhar esta evolução. Estima-se que a informação processada mundialmente nos últimos 2 anos representa 90% do total de informação alguma vez criada. Softwares estão a substituir profissionais pelo mundo inteiro, principalmente em áreas como a contabilidade, tarefas rotineiras de processamento de dados são desempenhadas sem contributo humano e de forma automática. Sendo a profissão de auditoria altamente dependente de análise de dados é importante perceber o impacto que esta evolução terá na vida do auditor.
Esta dissertação tem como finalidade descrever a profissão de auditoria neste contexto de evolução tecnológica global. A revisão de literatura efetuada permitiu enquadrar em importantes conceitos teóricos e perceber como esses conceitos se traduzem para a profissão de auditoria. Com o estudo empÃrico realizado, procurou-se demonstrar os impactos destas novas tecnologias na vida do auditor.
O estudo empÃrico suportou-se numa pesquisa com uma análise quantitativa, através da utilização de um inquérito. Através deste, foi possÃvel concluir que as novas tecnologias apesar de apresentarem novos riscos para a auditoria externa, também se apresentam como uma oportunidade para desenvolver trabalhos com mais qualidade e eficiência
