    A época de plantio de milho no Estado do Acre concentra-se da segunda quinzena de setembro ao final de outubro, período de início das chuvas. A precipitação pluviométrica anual situa-se e, torno de 2000mm, distribuída de outubro a maio. No Acre, embora em pequena escala, os produtores praticam um segundo cultivo de março a julho, sem necessidade de irrigação suplementar. Este plantio, se efetuado com base técnica e material genético melhorado, adaptado às condições edafoclimáticas locais, propiciará vantagens tão consideráveis para os agricultores, que resultará na intensificação do cultivo do milho nessa época e, consequentemente, aumento da produção do Estado.bitstream/item/81150/1/CPAF-AC-COM.-TEC.-61-95.pd

    HRM analysis targeting ITS1 and matK loci as potential DNA mini-barcodes for the authentication of Hypericum perforatum and Hypericum androsaemum in herbal infusions

    Hypericum species are among the medicinal plants that are being increasingly used due to their reported health benefits. Hypericum perforatum (St. John's wort) is well known for its anti-inflammatory, antidepressive and anti-viral properties, as well as a healing agent. In Portuguese folk medicine, Hypericum androsaemum (Hiperic~ao do Ger^es) is largely used for its hepatic protective and diuretic properties. This work aimed at searching the potential use of two DNA mini-barcode candidates (ITS1 and matK) for the authentication of H. perforatum and H. androsaemum in herbal infusions. The sequencing results from ITS1 and matK regions were the basis for the development of species-specific PCR and real-time PCR assays coupled to High Resolution Melting (HRM) analysis, as simple approaches for the reliable discrimination of both species. The barcode regions were successful in the species-specific PCR identification of each target. ITS1 region revealed some intra-species variability from sequencing results, which compromises HRM analysis, while matK showed to be an adequate mini-barcode for the differentiation of both species by real-time PCR coupled to HRM analysis.     Cultivares de milho recomendadas para o Estado do Acre.

    Um dos aspectos que pode proporcionar aumentos substanciais na produtividade de uma cultura é a utilização de cultivares com alto potencial genético e adaptados às condições locais. No Estado do Acre, devido a falta de estrutura para multiplicação de sementes, a importação deste insumo é realizada anualmente, pelo comércio e Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Agrário. Entretanto, nem sempre essas sementes são de materiais genéticos adaptados às condições do Estado. A recomendação de cultivares de milho para o Estado do Acre em como base os resultados dos ensaios oficiais de avaliação de cultivares, selecionando-se aquelas que apresentem características que possam superar os problemas da cultura nesse Estado. Os resultados obtidos nesses ensaios, desenvolvidos na UEPAE de Rio Branco, permitiram selecionar materiais genéticos com alto potencial produtivo, boa resistência ao acamamento, bom empalhamento de espigas e boa tolerância às doenças que ocorrem nessa região.     Screening for hotspot mutations in PI3K, JAK2, FLT3 and NPM1 in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes

    INTRODUCTION: Myelodysplastic syndromes encompass a heterogeneous group of clonal hematopoietic stem cell disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, refractory cytopenia and a tendency to progress toward acute myeloid leukemia. The accumulation of genetic alterations is closely associated with the progression of myelodysplastic syndromes toward acute myeloid leukemia. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the presence of mutations in the points most frequent for mutations (hotspot mutations) in phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K), Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) and nucleophosmin (NPM1), which are involved in leukemia and other cancers, in a population of Brazilian MDS patients. METHODS: Fifty-one myelodysplastic syndromes patients were included in the study. According to French-American-British classification, the patients were distributed as follows: 31 with refractory anemia, 8 with refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts, 7 with refractory anemia with excess blasts, 3 with refractory anemia with excess blasts in transformation and 2 with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. Bone marrow samples were obtained and screened for the presence of hotspot mutations using analysis based on amplification with the polymerase chain reaction, sequencing, fragment size polymorphisms or restriction enzyme digestion. All patients were screened for mutations at the time of diagnosis, and 5 patients were also screened at the time of disease progression. RESULTS: In the genes studied, no mutations were detected in the patients at the time of diagnosis. One patient with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia was heterozygous for a Janus kinase 2 mutation after disease progression. CONCLUSIONS: These results show that hotspot mutations in the PI3K, JAK2, FLT3 and NPM1 genes are not common in MDS patients; nevertheless, JAK2 mutations may be present in myelodysplasia during disease progression

    The intercropping of maize with forage plants is a farming technique aimed at producing grains and grazing, with beneficial results for the sustainability of production. Most of the research carried out with maize (Zea mays) intercropped with palisadegrass (Urochloa brizantha) has evaluated the agronomic performance of the crops. Therefore, there is a lack of research on the effects of this technique on the soil hydro-physical characteristics. For this reason, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the cultivation of maize intercropped with U. brizantha on the soil hydro-physical characteristics. The study was conducted in an experimental area at Faculdade Católica of Tocantins, in Palmas/Tocantins, Brazil; using a randomized complete block design, in a 4x2 factorial scheme, with three repetitions. The study comprised four types of intercropping: i) maize with U. brizantha cv. Marandu sown by broadcast; ii) maize with U. brizantha cv. Marandu sown between the maize rows; (iii) maize with U. brizantha cv. Piatã sown by broadcast; iv) maize with U. brizantha cv. Piatã sown between the maize rows; and two implantation periods: v) simultaneous sowing; vi) sowing 20 days after the maize. The hydro-physical properties evaluated were soil density, total soil porosity and soil water holding capacity. There was a significant interaction between the type of intercrop and the sowing time in the soil density and total soil porosity, but no significant differences in soil water holding capacity. Results show that the intercropping of maize with U. brizantha sown simultaneously improves the physical properties of the soil such as density and porosity, in comparison to the U. brizantha implantation 20 days after sowing maize. The intercrop of i) maize with U. brizantha cv. Marandu sown between the maize row and ii) maize with U. brizantha cv. Piatã sown by broadcast between the maize row (in simultaneous sowing) improved the soil physical attributes

    Produção de semente de soja irrigada por gotejamento subsuperficial no Tocantins, Brasil.

    Foi conduzido um experimento de campo, em Porto Nacional-TO, utilizando irrigação por gotejamento subsuperficial para verificar a produtividade de sementes de soja e da água. O experimento foi em DBC, em arranjo de parcelas sub-subdivididas, com quatro lâminas de irrigação nas parcelas, três cultivares nas subparcelas, e dois manejos de aplicação de fungicida nas sub-subparcelas, em três repetições. Os resultados demonstraram que os tratamentos com a lâmina de 125% da ET produziram mais soja que os demais (2.726 kg ha-¹); as cultivares SOY Rubi (C2), 2.603 kg ha-¹, e SOY Pérola (C3), 2.584 kg ha-¹ produziram mais soja que a cultivar SOY Fronteira (C1), 1.686 kg ha-¹. A produtividade da água das cultivares C3, 0,515 kg ha-¹ m-³, e C2, 0,509 kg ha-¹ m-³, foram superiores a obtida pela cultivar C1, 0,358 kg ha-¹ m-³. Os resultados nos permitem concluir que (i) obteve-se maior produtividade com a lâmina 125% da ET; (ii) a C1 apresentou menor produtividade de grãos e de água que as demais cultivares; (iii) estes resultados não são conclusivos para recomendar o cultivo de soja durante o vazio sanitário em regiões fora das planícies inundáveis do rio Araguaia, requerendo mais pesquisas para esclarecer esse tema.CONBEA 2021.     Validation of battery skill tests to Wheelchair handball athletes

    El balonmano en sillas de ruedas es un deporte adaptado que ofrece una oportunidad de actividades deportivas para personas con discapacidad física. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la validez y la confiabilidad de una batería de tests de habilidad para el balonmano en silla de ruedas. Los tests de precisión de pases, desempeño en el bloqueo, conducción de la pelota y velocidad en 20 metros fueron administrados en 29 atletas con discapacidades físicas. Los resultados indican que los tests de velocidad de 20 metros, de desempeño en el bloqueo y de conducción de la pelota pueden ser aplicados para la evaluación de atletas de balonmano en silla de ruedasThe Wheelchair Handball is opportunity of sport practice to people with physical disabilities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity and the reliability of a battery of skills tests to assess skills of wheelchair handball athletes. 29 physical disable athletes were assessed by the following tests: accuracy of passes, performance of block, ball conduction and 20 meters speed.
