Retórica colonial: el "otro" Lingüístico

Throughout this essay I´ll try to introduce the reader in the literary reality that is supposed by three book written in the dawn of what today is known as Colombia.: : Elegías de varones ilustres de Indias written by Juan de Castellanos, Noticias Historiales by Fray Pedro Simón and El Carnero by Juan Rodríguez Freile. This reality is the engine of the behavior portrayed by the european man in the Americas; almost as if they were sacred, or holy, texts, they became belief. The idea of other, that until today wanders in our imagination. A barbaric other, loaded with gold and minion of the devil, an other that didn’t walked in America but most definitely roamed through Europe and whose idea stained the New World’s land with blood.A lo largo de esta reflexión intentaré introducir al lector dentro de la realidad literaria que suponen tres textos escritos en los albores de lo que hoy se reconoce como la nación colombiana: Elegías de varones ilustres de Indias de Juan de Castellanos, Noticias Historiales de Fray Pedro Simón, y El Carnero de Juan Rodríguez Freile. Esta realidad es el motor de las acciones que el hombre europeo desempeñó en el Nuevo Mundo; casi como textos sagrados se convirtieron en justificación, y, más que eso, en profunda creencia. Es de allí que surge la idea de un otro que hasta hoy atraviesa el imaginario colectivo. Un otro bárbaro, cargado de oro y súbdito del demonio, un otro que no caminó por América pero que sin duda transitó por Europa y cuya idea manchó de sangre la tierra del Nuevo Mundo

The education during all the life. The formation of the elderly people

En la actualidad la población esta envejeciendo de forma acelerada debido al descenso de la natalidad y al aumento progresivo de la esperanza de vida. Se le podría añadir a estos factores el hecho de la reducción en la vida laboral, lo que provoca que la persona entre, en la mayoría de los casos, en un periodo de inactividad prolongado. Nuestra sociedad ha de estar preparada para estos cambios y actuar en consecuencia mediante una intervención integral haciendo hincapié en el aspecto socioeducativo. Se deben dar respuestas a estas necesidades desde iniciativas públicas y privadas a través de la integración, el aprovechamiento del tiempo libre, el mantenimiento físico, la animación sociocultural, la asistencia personalizada, la educación para la salud, etc. Por ello, la acción formativa con las personas mayores ha de convertirse en el motor que transforme sus vidas y, también, la sociedad en general.In the actuality the population is getting age very quickly due to the decrease of the birthrate and the progressive increase of the life expectancy. Morever, we can add at these elements the reduction of the worklife, generating in the person to begin, in the majority of cases, a long period without activity. Our society must be prepared for this changes and acting by means of a complete intervention, specially in the socioeducative aspect. We have to give answers at these necessities from public and private intiatives through the integration, making good use to the free time, maintenance of the body, education for the health, etc. For these reasons, the formative action with elderly people have became in the motor for transforming their lifes and the society

It is a story of crazy love in manner of the Surrealistic vein, set in a peculiar brothel in the Caribbean where the signs of love mix with those of elder age due to the dreamlike resources of magic realism

La ficción como coartada del apátrida: un milagro informal de Fernando Iwasaki

The article analyzes the book of short stories entitled “Un milagro informal” (2003) (An Informal Miracle), written by the Hispano-Peruvian author Fernando Iwasaki, in the context of the new trends in Peruvian narrative literature. In a sense, the book’s table of contents allows us to realize that Iwasaki has selected the most representative tales from his genre of short-story telling. Besides, he has anthologized himself and has introduced new tales that provide evidence of a clear evolution in his literary work. Thus, he eliminates any kind of boundaries, not only in those aspects involving subject matters and styles, but also in the different genres. This evolution is clearly represented in the author's forms, the stylistic, even linguistic distance that are present in the tales written in Seville in recent years, when compared with those written in Lima during the eighties. Nonetheless, despite the numerous metamorphoses that Iwasaski’s writings present, there are four main subjects that cover transversally all his short-story telling output, namely, 1) the imaginary element, that bursts abruptly into the world of realism, 2) the eroticism, trimmed with jocular and ludic elements, 3) the parody, presented mainly in the detective genre and 4) the intertextual puns. A set-membership state estimation algorithm based on DC programming

This paper presents a new approach to guaranteed state estimation for nonlinear discrete-time systems with a bounded description of noise and parameters. The sets of states that are consistent with the evolution of the system, the measured outputs and bounded noise and parameters are represented by zonotopes. DC programming and intersection operations are used to obtain a tight bound. El infierno queda al sur

Throughout the article, it is my intention to establish a direct relation between two short stories and a novel, each of them from Argentina, with Italian writer Dante Alghieri’s Divine Comedy. The texts on which this essay is based are: «Las puertas del cielo» by Julio Cortázar, «El Aleph» by Jorge Luis Borges, and Sobre héroes y tumbas by Ernesto Sábato. The relation consists in revealing the journey the main characters take through the same hell that Dante represented in his inferno. Nevertheless, they are of a different kind. In Cortázar’s story the relation is centred on the plot; in Borges’, it is structural; and in Sábato’s novel it is a relation with the subconscious.A lo largo del artículo se pretende establecer una relación directa entre dos cuentos y una novela de la prosa hispanoamericana, específicamente argentina, con la Divina Comedia del autor italiano Dante Alighieri. Los textos en los cuales se basa el ensayo son: «Las puertas del cielo» de Julio Cortázar, «El Aleph» de Jorge Luis Borges y Sobre héroes y tumbas de Ernesto Sábato.
