    The Spiritual and Secular Effects of the Holocaust

    My research paper focused on the topic of the Holocaust, and how this tragic event in history had a lasting effect, not only on the victims, but on future generations as well. My paper focused on two autobiographies, “Night,” and “After Long Silence” written by Elie Wiesel and Helen Fremont respectively, each of which portray a different perspective on the Holocaust and the significance it had in the peoples’ lives. Using these two autobiographies, as well as a number of articles referencing the Holocaust, I portrayed how this horrible period of history shaped many peoples\u27 lives, both secularly and spiritually

    The interaction between the efficiency of the structural design and the cost of the structure used was studied. It is shown that future effort is best directed at producing a low cost structure of medium efficiency, but with the ability to withstand normal service wear. The trade-off between aerodynamic drag and structure weight in selecting a length to diameter ratio for the hull is evaluated along with the implications of power plan type and fuel cost on the economics of the airship.     Patterns in the Sand: Mathematical Exploration of Chladni Patterns

    Chladni Patterns are formed when sand settles at the nodes of two dimensional standing waves, excited on a metallic plate which is driven at a resonant frequency. By considering a two-dimensional rectangular membrane with fixed boundary and constant density as an idealized model of the metal plate, a formula for predicting the Chladni Patterns that will form at certain frequencies can be found.     Collaborative Practices Among Professionals in Special Education Workplaces

    The aim of this study is to examine collaborative relationships existing among professionals working in special education and specifically the relationships between school-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and elementary school classroom teachers. A survey was administered to classroom teachers in New Hampshire. The first part of the survey asked teachers their opinions regarding the extent to which SLPs should be collaborating with teachers. The second part of the survey asked teachers to estimate how often they engaged in collaborative practices with the SLP currently working in their school. Results indicated that teachers would prefer SLPs to spend significantly more time in the classroom (p = \u3e .05) and co-teaching with teachers (p = \u3e .05). The results are discussed in regard to obstacles that may reduce collaboration between teachers and SLPs. This research highlights the obstacles that teachers and SLPs often face in collaboration and provides implications for solutions to overcoming those obstacles
