Astrophysics from data analysis of spherical gravitational wave detectors
The direct detection of gravitational waves will provide valuable
astrophysical information about many celestial objects. Also, it will be an
important test to general relativity and other theories of gravitation. The
gravitational wave detector SCHENBERG has recently undergone its first test
run. It is expected to have its first scientific run soon. In this work the
data analysis system of this spherical, resonant mass detector is tested
through the simulation of the detection of gravitational waves generated during
the inspiralling phase of a binary system. It is shown from the simulated data
that it is not necessary to have all six transducers operational in order to
determine the source's direction and the wave's amplitudes.Comment: 8 pages and 3 figure
Incorporation du coprah et des cuticules de cacao et dâarachide dans lâaliment du (tilapia du nil( (Oreohromis niloticus, linnĂ©, 1758) eleve en etang : Effet sur la croissance et la composition biochimique
Dans le but de rĂ©duire le coĂ»t de lâalimentation du tilapia en Ă©levage, quatre aliments exogĂšnes pulvĂ©rulents dont un industriel (Ivograin) servant de rĂ©fĂ©rence (AR) et trois tests locaux (A1, A2 et A3) formulĂ©s uniquement Ă base de sous-produits locaux ont Ă©tĂ© utilisĂ©s. La composition de base des aliments tests est : A1 (cuticules de de fĂšve de cacao, son de maĂŻs, tourteaux de soja et coton) ; A2 (cuticules de graine dâarachide, son de maĂŻs, tourteaux de soja et coton) et A3 (tourteaux de coprah, soja et coton et son de maĂŻs). Tous les aliments titrent environ 28 % de protĂ©ines. LâexpĂ©rience est conduite Ă la ferme « Blondey » (CĂŽte dâIvoire) sur des juvĂ©niles de Oreochromis niloticus dâun poids initial de 33,3 ± 0,4 g. Des juvĂ©niles ne recevant pas dâaliment exogĂšne ont servi de lot tĂ©moin (At) pour apprĂ©cier lâeffet de lâaliment endogĂšne. La densitĂ© de stockage Ă©tait de 2 poissons/m2. Trois Ă©tangs par traitement ont Ă©tĂ© utilisĂ©s. La ration journaliĂšre a Ă©tĂ© distribuĂ©e Ă 9 h et Ă 15 h. AprĂšs 180 jours dâexpĂ©rience, les poids moyens finaux ont atteint des valeurs respectives de 273,42 ± 26g ; 295,08 ± 18,5 g ; 352,1 ± 20,7g ; 309,38 ± 22,3 g et 101,06 ± 4 g pour A3, A2, A1, AR et At. Au niveau des aliments exogĂšnes, le meilleur quotient nutritif (Qn= 2,22) et de croissance journaliĂšre (1,77 g/jour) ont Ă©tĂ© obtenus avec A1. Le plus grand Qn (2,88) et la plus faible croissance journaliĂšre (1,33g /jour) sont enregistrĂ©s avec A3. La comparaison de tous les lots indique que la plus faible croissance (0,38 g/jour) est enregistrĂ©e chez les poissons non nourris Ă lâaliment exogĂšne (At). Les lipides corporels (16 - 17 %) sont plus Ă©levĂ©s chez les poissons nourris aux aliments tests que ceux des lots de rĂ©fĂ©rence (14 %) et tĂ©moins (13 %). Formulated diets were designated as A1 (cocoa bean shell, corn bran, soybean oil cake, cottonseeds oil cake, premix), A2 (peanut skin, corn bran, soybean oil cake, cottonseeds oil cake, premix) and A3 (corn bran, soybean oil cake, cottonseeds oil cake and coconut oil cake). The four diets contained approximately 28 % crude protein. The experiment was carried out at farm « Blondey » (Ivory Coast) on fingerlings Oreochromis niloticus with an initial body weight of 33.3 ± 0.4g. In addition, fingerlings non-fed with exogenous diet were used as control group to assess the impact of the natural food. The used stocking density was 2 fish/m2. Three replicate ponds were assigned to each of the treatment. Fish were fed twice daily (9.00 h and 15.00 h). After 180 days of experiment, the final body weight observed were respectively 273.42 ± 26 ; 295.08 ± 18.5 ; 352.1 ± 20,7 ; 309.38 ± 22.3 g and 101.06 ± 4 g for A3, A2, A1, AR and At. Considering the four diets (A1, A2, A3 and AR), the best daily weight gain (1.77 g/day) and feed conversion ratio (2.22) were obtained with A1 which were significantly different (p < 0.05) from values obtained for the other groups. The poorest weight gain (1.33 g/day) and the highest feed conversion ratio (2.88) were recorded for A3. The comparison of all groups (A1, A2, A3, AR and At) revealed that the poorest value of the daily weight gain (1.33 g/day) was recorded for the control group (At). Fat deposition was highest (16 - 17 %) in fish fed practical diets, while fish fed diets AR and control fish (At) recorded respectively (14 %) and (13 %). Fontes De Obtenção De Medicamentos Para Hipertensão E Diabetes No Brasil: Resultados De Inquérito TelefÎnico Nas Capitais Brasileiras E No Distrito Federal, 2011
This study aimed to analyze differences between patients with diabetes and hypertension in drug treatment and their sources for obtaining medication. This was a cross-sectional study with data from the VIGITEL telephone survey in 2011 in Brazilâs state capitals and Federal District. Some 72% of the 15,027 hypertensive patients and 78.2% of the 4,083 diabetics were on medication; 45.8% of the hypertensive patients obtained their medications from public health units, 15.9% from the Popular Pharmacy program, and 38.3% from drugstores, pharmacies, and other sources. The rates among diabetics were 54.4%, 16.2%, and 29.4%, respectively. In the public health units the percentages were highest among individuals with less schooling, black or brown skin, and without private health plans, while the percentages in the Popular Pharmacy program and drugstores/pharmacies and other sources were higher among individuals with more schooling, white skin, and private health plans. Access to different sources of medicines showed disparities between Brazilâs regions and state capitals and between social segments of the population. © 2016, Fundacao Oswaldo Cruz. Light GUT Triplets and Yukawa Splitting
Triplet-mediated proton decay in Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) is usually
suppressed by arranging a large triplet mass. Here we explore instead a
mechanism for suppressing the couplings of the triplets to the first and second
generations compared to the Yukawa couplings, so that the triplets' mass can be
below the GUT scale. This mechanism is based on a ``triplet symmetry'' in the
context of product-group GUTs. We study two possibilities. One, which requires
the top Yukawa to arise from a non-renormalizable operator at the GUT scale, is
that all triplet couplings to matter are negligible, so that the triplets can
be at the weak scale. The second is that some triplet couplings, and in
particular and , are equal to the corresponding
Yukawa couplings. This would give a distinct signature of grand unification if
the triplets were sufficiently light. However, we derive a model-independent
bound on the triplet mass in this case, which is at least 10GeV. Finally,
we construct a GUT model based on Yukawa splitting, with the triplets at

Nonextensive Entropies derived from Form Invariance of Pseudoadditivity
The form invariance of pseudoadditivity is shown to determine the structure
of nonextensive entropies. Nonextensive entropy is defined as the appropriate
expectation value of nonextensive information content, similar to the
definition of Shannon entropy. Information content in a nonextensive system is
obtained uniquely from generalized axioms by replacing the usual additivity
with pseudoadditivity. The satisfaction of the form invariance of the
pseudoadditivity of nonextensive entropy and its information content is found
to require the normalization of nonextensive entropies. The proposed principle
requires the same normalization as that derived in [A.K. Rajagopal and S. Abe,
Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 83}, 1711 (1999)], but is simpler and establishes a basis

Comments On âthe Organization Of Pharmaceutical Services By âhealth Regionâ In Brazilâs Unified Health Systemâ
This study aimed to describe and characterize the pharmaceutical services provided in Brazilâs Unified Health System (SUS) from the point of view of the healthcare networks that are organized by region in the QualiSUS-Rede Project. This was a cross-sectional study, with data collected from December 2013 to July 2015, in public health establishments that carried out delivery or warehousing of medications (n = 4,938), in 465 municipalites, and the Federal District, in 43âHealth Regionsâ. The results show the existence of at least one management service supporting the health network, and warehousing of medications in all the regions (> 90%). It also showed the availability of at least one healthcare service, in healthcare locations, by pharmaceutical professionals is irregular between the Regions, being highest in the Southeastern Region (74.3%), and lowest in the Northeastern Region (43.3%). The results underpine the need for effective structuring of pharmaceutical assistance in the SUS networks, overcoming the current restrictive vision of its activities, which gives value almost exclusively to the logistical component of support to the network, to the detriment of the clinical component. It is also important to expand, and improve the quality of, the populationâs access to medical drugs, and improve the quality of the healthcare offered to users of the system. © 2017, Associacao Brasileira de Pos - Graduacao em Saude Coletiva. Bianchi type II models in the presence of perfect fluid and anisotropic dark energy
Spatially homogeneous but totally anisotropic and non-flat Bianchi type II
cosmological model has been studied in general relativity in the presence of
two minimally interacting fluids; a perfect fluid as the matter fluid and a
hypothetical anisotropic fluid as the dark energy fluid. The Einstein's field
equations have been solved by applying two kinematical ans\"{a}tze: we have
assumed the variation law for the mean Hubble parameter that yields a constant
value of deceleration parameter, and one of the components of the shear tensor
has been considered proportional to the mean Hubble parameter. We have
particularly dwelled on the accelerating models with non-divergent expansion
anisotropy as the Universe evolves. Yielding anisotropic pressure, the fluid we
consider in the context of dark energy, can produce results that can be
produced in the presence of isotropic fluid in accordance with the \Lambda CDM
cosmology. However, the derived model gives additional opportunities by being
able to allow kinematics that cannot be produced in the presence of fluids that
yield only isotropic pressure. We have obtained well behaving cases where the
anisotropy of the expansion and the anisotropy of the fluid converge to finite
values (include zero) in the late Universe. We have also showed that although
the metric we consider is totally anisotropic, the anisotropy of the dark
energy is constrained to be axially symmetric, as long as the overall energy

Family Unification on an Orbifold
We construct a family-unified model on a Z_2xZ_2 orbifold in five dimensions.
The model is based on a supersymmetric SU(7) gauge theory. The gauge group is
broken by orbifold boundary conditions to a product of grand unified SU(5) and
SU(2)xU(1) flavor symmetry. The structure of Yukawa matrices is generated by an
interplay between spontaneous breaking of flavor symmetry and geometric factors
arising due to field localization in the extra dimension.Comment: 13 page
Some anisotropic universes in the presence of imperfect fluid coupling with spatial curvature
We consider Bianchi VI spacetime, which also can be reduced to Bianchi types
VI0-V-III-I. We initially consider the most general form of the energy-momentum
tensor which yields anisotropic stress and heat flow. We then derive an
energy-momentum tensor that couples with the spatial curvature in a way so as
to cancel out the terms that arise due to the spatial curvature in the
evolution equations of the Einstein field equations. We obtain exact solutions
for the universes indefinetly expanding with constant mean deceleration
parameter. The solutions are beriefly discussed for each Bianchi type. The
dynamics of the models and fluid are examined briefly, and the models that can
approach to isotropy are determined. We conclude that even if the observed
universe is almost isotropic, this does not necessarily imply the isotropy of
the fluid (e.g., dark energy) affecting the evolution of the universe within

Polyphenols journey through blood-brain barrier towards neuronal protection
Age-related complications such as neurodegenerative disorders are increasing and remain cureless.
The possibility of altering the progression or the development of these multifactorial diseases through
diet is an emerging and attractive approach with increasing experimental support. We examined
the potential of known bioavailable phenolic sulfates, arising from colonic metabolism of berries, to
infuence hallmarks of neurodegenerative processes. In silico predictions and in vitro transport studies
across blood-brain barrier (BBB) endothelial cells, at circulating concentrations, provided evidence for
diferential transport, likely related to chemical structure. Moreover, endothelial metabolism of these
phenolic sulfates produced a plethora of novel chemical entities with further potential bioactivies.
Pre-conditioning with phenolic sulfates improved cellular responses to oxidative, excitotoxicity and
infammatory injuries and this attenuation of neuroinfammation was achieved via modulation of
NF-ÎșB pathway. Our results support the hypothesis that these small molecules, derived from dietary
(poly)phenols may cross the BBB, reach brain cells, modulate microglia-mediated infammation and
exert neuroprotective efects, with potential for alleviation of neurodegenerative diseases.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
