    In this paper we consider the problem(P lambda()) {-Delta u + V-lambda(x)u = (I-mu * vertical bar u vertical bar(2 mu*))vertical bar u vertical bar(2 mu*-2)u in R-N,u > 0 in R-N,where V-lambda = lambda + V-0 with lambda >= 0, V-0 is an element of L-N/2(R-N), I-mu = 1/vertical bar x vertical bar(mu) is the Riesz potential with 0 < mu < min{N, 4} and 2(mu)* = 2N-mu/N-2 with N >= 3. Under some smallness assumption on V-0 and lambda we prove the existence of two positive solutions of (P-lambda). In order to prove the main results, we used variational methods combined with degree theory

    Curso de mestrado em enfermagem de saúde materna obstetrícia e ginecologiapertinência desta temática é justificada pela importância da saúde da família e do apoio à maternidade, pois “os objetivos dos cuidados de saúde para famílias em gestação são uma gravidez saudável, um recém-nascido saudável e pais preparados e confiantes nos seus novos papéis” (RICE, 2004 p.412). Este estudo tem como objetivos avaliar a visita domiciliária efetuada às puérperas e determinar a existência de relação entre a avaliação da visita domiciliária e algumas variáveis. Participaram no estudo 175 puérperas, inscritas na UCSP de Resende, de Lamego e de Santa Marinha do Zêzere e na USF Douro Vita. O estudo realizado é quantitativo, descritivo, correlacional e transversal. O instrumento de colheita de dados inclui a escala de avaliação da visita domiciliária no pós-parto (Almeida, Duarte e Nelas, 2011) que foi construída e validada neste estudo. Os resultados obtidos da validação da escala revelam-nos 4 fatores que foram denominados: 1- Ensino; 2 – Importância; 3 – Empatia e relação; 4 – Informação. Relativamente à avaliação da visita domiciliária no pós-parto, 45,70% das puérperas considera-a insuficiente. Verificou-se ainda que as variáveis idade, escolaridade, número de gestações anteriores, funcionalidade familiar, suporte social, ansiedade e a depressão pósparto, influenciam a avaliação da visita domiciliária no pós-parto. Assim, as puérperas mais velhas, que possuem o ensino secundário, que tiveram três gestações anteriores, com famílias altamente funcionais, com suporte social alto, mais ansiosas e com suspeita de depressão são as que atribuem melhor avaliação à visita domiciliária no pós-parto. The relevance of this topic is justified by the importance of family health and the support given to motherhood, as “the goals of health care in families with pregnant women are directly related to a healthy pregnancy, a healthy newborn and confident and prepared parents towards their new roles” (RICE, 2004 p.412). This study aims to evaluate the home visits made to recent mothers and to determine the existence of a relationship between the home visit’s assessment and some other variables The study was developed with 175 mothers who belong to the UCSP from Resende, Lamego and Santa Marinha do Zêzere and also from the USF Douro Vita. This is a quantitative, descriptive, correlational and transversal study. The data research instrument is based on the evaluation scale of the postpartum home visits (Almeida, Duarte e Nelas, 2011) which was built and validated in this study. The obtained results from the scale’s validation reveal us four factors that were named: 1 - Education 2 - Importance, 3 - Empathy and relation; 4 - Information. In what concerns to the postpartum home visits’ assessment, 45.70% of the women considered it insufficient. It was also found that age, schooling, the number of previous pregnancies, family functioning, social support, anxiety and postpartum depression, influenced the postpartum home visits’ assessment. Thus, older mothers who have secondary education, with three previous pregnancies, with a high level of family functioning and social support, the most anxious and who may have a suspicious of a depression are the ones that give the best assessment to home visits after delivery. Moving Beyond CHO: Alternative host systems may be the future of biotherapeutics

    CHO cells are the primary expression system for recombinant proteins with significant investment over the last three decades resulting in robust cell lines and processes. The flexible nature of CHO has lent itself to multiple process formats, such as fed batch, perfusion and continuous cultures, and advances in omics technology has enabled customization of media formulations and targeted engineering of CHO cells. This knowledge has led to large gains in protein productivity that can be captured with culture duration and/or scale. Despite this, constant pressure exists to reduce cost of manufacturing and improve per batch productivity to meet the needs of increased patient populations and increase accessibility of these therapeutics. Biogen has partnered with MIT to take a holistic view of the potential future of biomanufacturing to identify technologies that can make step changes in productivity and cost reduction. This effort has identified the host system as the most important factor to enabling this vision. Specifically, a non-mammalian host could be the key to realizing the most significant gains in productivity and reduction in cost of manufacturing. Through this initiative, we sought to take a more comprehensive approach to investigate alternative hosts for recombinant antibody production. Eight non-mammalian hosts were selected based on several properties, including proven secretion of recombinant protein products, ability to glycosylate proteins, established genome or molecular biology toolkit, amongst others. The final panel of organisms included yeast, filamentous fungi, a diatom, and a trypanosome. In collaboration with Amyris, we evaluated these eight non-mammalian host cell lines to compare their suitability as a potential primary host for the biotechnology industry. Only non-engineered, wild-type strains were used as a starting point for this evaluation, which assessed the ability of each host to express the same IgG1 model antibody. The outcome of this comparative analysis demonstrated that several of the alternative hosts could express full length antibody with acceptable glycoforms. Additionally, the ease of culture, ability to engineer the genome, and flexibility of carbon source were assessed. As an output of this work, the most productive strains will be made available for use without restrictions to allow others in the community to freely work with these hosts. Based on this initial assessment, a strategy to further investigate the potential of the most promising hosts will be shared

    In this paper we establish the existence of two positive solutions for the obstacle problem \displaystyle \int_{\Re}\left[u'(v-u)'+(1+\lambda V(x))u(v-u)\right] \geq \displaystyle \int_{\Re} f(u)(v-u), \forall v\in \Ka where ff is a continuous function verifying some technical conditions and \Ka is the convex set given by \Ka =\left\{v\in H^{1}(\Re); v \geq \varphi \right\}, with φH1()\varphi \in H^{1}(\Re) having nontrivial positive part with compact support in \Re. \vspace{0.2cm} \noindent \emph{2000 Mathematics Subject Classification} : 34B18, 35A15, 46E39. \noindent \emph{Key words}: Obstacle problem, Variational methods, Positive solutions.Comment: To appear in Progress in Nonlinear Differential Equations and their Application

    32 p.No han sido ampliamente estudiadas las alteraciones en las restauraciones de resina compuesta tras el uso diario de dentífricos blanqueadores. Es por esto que el objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar in vitro el efecto del cepillado simulado con dentífricos blanqueadores en el brillo, color y rugosidad superficial de dos resinas, siendo una convencional y una Bulk Fill (BF). Se confeccionaron cien muestras cilíndricas de resina compuesta, siendo cincuenta de resina microparticulada (Aura esmalte E2-SDI) y otras cincuenta de resina nanohíbrida (Aura Bulk Fill-SDI). Para cada tipo de resina, las muestras fueron divididas en cinco grupos de acuerdo al tratamiento que consistía en cepillado simulado (2.500 ciclos) con diferentes dentífricos blanqueadores: G1 control sin cepillado; G2 Colgate Máxima Protección Anticaries; G3 Colgate Luminous White Advanced; G4 Oral-B 3D White Perfection; y G5 Curaprox Black is White. La variación del color, rugosidad y brillo fue evaluada para cada grupo en 2 tiempos: inicial y 24 horas después del cepillado simulado. Se realizó un análisis cualitativo con microscopía electrónica de barrido. Los resultados fueron sometidos a ANOVA de tres factores (a=0,05). Nuestros resultados muestran que posterior al cepillado simulado, Colgate Luminous White Advanced fue el dentífrico que causó menos alteraciones en rugosidad superficial y brillo y generó mayor acción blanqueadora en las dos resinas. Entre las resinas, la convencional mostró mejor comportamiento en todas las variables analizadas. Por lo tanto, las propiedades de los dentífricos y de las resinas deben ser consideradas para la indicación del producto.
