Treatment of Secondary Sedimentation Tank Wastewater by Fenton Oxidation-Neutralization-Coagulation Sedimentation

    Get PDF
In this paper, the CODCr index is used as the detection item, and the wastewater from the secondary clarifier of a sewage treatment plant is treated by "Fenton oxidation-neutralization-coagulation sedimentation" method. The results showed that the removal rate of CODCr reached 73.4% by "Fenton oxidation-neutralization-coagulation precipitation" method. It can be seen that this method can make the wastewater discharge up to the standard and provide data support for better treatment of industrial wastewater in engineering. Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim is a perennial plant possessing great medicinal and edible value. In this study, an efficient rapid propagation system was developed for in vitro production of high-quality plantlets of T. kirilowii cv. ‘Yuelou-2’ via organogenesis. Shoots were established from the nodal stems of this plant by cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium containing different concentrations of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) according to a L9 (34) orthogonal array design. MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg l-1 6-BA alone conferred significant enhancement of shoot induction and development by variance and statistical analysis of shoot induction frequency, shoot length, as well as lateral shoot number and total node number per explant. Rooting percentage, root morphological characteristics, plantlet survival rate, as well as plantlet growth performance in vitro and ex vitro were comprehensively assessed, and results showed that the addition of 1.0 mg l-1 NAA to 1/2 MS medium was the most responsive for root induction and production of high-quality plantlets from the regenerated shoots. The in vitro propagation system described here has the potential for large-scale and rapid production of in vitro plantlets of seed variety of T. kirilowii in a sustainable manner

Approximate finite-dimensional ODE temperature model for microwave heating

    Get PDF
In this paper, a finite-dimensional ordinary differential equation (ODE) model is proposed for predicting the temperature profile with microwave heating to accomplish lower computing complexity. The traditional parabolic partial different equation (PDE) model with integrating Maxwell's equation and heat transport equation is not suitable for designing the on-line controller. Based on the obstruction, using an auxiliary function derives an intermediate model, which is analyzed and discussed for model reduction by employing the parameter separation method and Galerkin's method. The simulation experiments on one-dimensional waveguide and cavity demonstrate that the proposed approximate model is effective

Preliminary planning efficiency evaluation for school buildings considering the tradeoffs of MOOP and planning preferences

Seismic resistance and cost effectiveness are often two important building planning objectives for architects. However, these objectives nearly always share a negative correlation with each other, which can cause planning delays and confusion. The conflict between these two is a Multi-Objective Optimization Problem (MOOP). Besides, building planning often encompasses both subjective and objective factors. However, most current efficiency evaluation methods focus on the latter and underemphasize the former. Current efficiency evaluation methods are thus not optimized for actual building planning needs. The aim of this study is to develop a new planning efficiency evaluation approach to resolve the above problems. Research methods include the indifference curve, efficient frontier and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The indifference curve deduced the subjective planning preferences of architects; efficient frontier theory constructed the efficient frontier of school buildings; and DEA evaluated the efficiency of various building factors objectively. A total of 326 school buildings in Taichung City, Taiwan in an empirical study designed to illustrate proposed approach effectiveness. The results show that using only objective evaluation or subjective recognition is insufficient to explain the true nature of building planning. Findings can serve as benchmarks for inefficient school buildings at preliminary planning stage

In the molecule of the title compound, C9H11NO2, the methyl C and amino N atoms bonded to the benzene ring lie in the ring plane. Intramolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a five-membered planar ring, which is oriented at a dihedral angle of 2.73 (3)° with respect to the benzene ring, so they are nearly coplanar. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains elongated along the c axis and stacked along the b axis

The cellular distribution of Na+/H+ exchanger regulatory factor 1 is determined by the PDZ-I domain and regulates the malignant progression of breast cancer

The oncogenic role of ectopic expression of Na+/H+ exchanger regulatory factor 1 (NHERF1) was recently suggested. Here, we show that NHERF1 was upregulated in high grades compared with low grades. Increased NHERF1 expression was correlated with poor prognosis and poor survival. NHERF1 expression was higher in the nucleus of cancer cells than in contiguous non- mammary epithelial cells. A novel mutation, namely NHERF1 Y24S, was identified in human breast cancer tissues and shown to correspond to a conserved residue in the PDZ-I domain of NHERF1. Truncation and mutation of the PDZ-I domain of NHERF1 increased the nuclear distribution of the NHERF1 protein, and this redistribution was associated with the malignant phenotype of breast cancer cells, including growth, migration, and adhesion. The present results suggest a role for NHERF1 in the progression of breast cancer mediated by the nuclear distribution of the NHERF1 protein, as determined by the truncation or key site mutation of the PDZ-I domain

The title compound, C13H16N2O5, is useful as an intermediate in the field of agrochemicals. Intramolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of one six- and one five-membered nearly planar ring; the six-membered ring is also nearly coplanar with the adjacent benzene ring.
