Bound state solutions of the Dirac-Rosen-Morse potential with spin and pseudospin symmetry
The energy spectra and the corresponding two- component spinor wavefunctions
of the Dirac equation for the Rosen-Morse potential with spin and pseudospin
symmetry are obtained. The wave ( state) solutions for this
problem are obtained by using the basic concept of the supersymmetric quantum
mechanics approach and function analysis (standard approach) in the
calculations. Under the spin symmetry and pseudospin symmetry, the energy
equation and the corresponding two-component spinor wavefunctions for this
potential and other special types of this potential are obtained. Extension of
this result to state is suggested.Comment: 18 page

A Single-band Cold Mass Support System for the MICE Superconducting Coupling Magnet
The cooling channel of the Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE) consists of eighteen superconducting solenoid coils, which are magnetically hooked together and contained in seven modules. The operations of a pair of MICE superconducting coupling magnets are affected directly by the other solenoid coils in the MICE channel. In order to meet the stringent requirement for the magnet center and axis azimuthal angle at 4.2 K, a self-centered tension-band cold mass support system with intermediate thermal interruption was applied for the MICE superconducting coupling magnet. The physical center of the magnet does not change as it is cooled down from 300 K to 4.2 K using this support system. This paper analyzed and calculated force loads on the coupling magnet under various operation modes of the MICE cooling channel. The performance parameters of a single-band cold mass support system were calculated also
(1+1)-Dirac particle with position-dependent mass in complexified Lorentz scalar interactions: effectively PT-symmetric
The effect of the built-in supersymmetric quantum mechanical language on the
spectrum of the (1+1)-Dirac equation, with position-dependent mass (PDM) and
complexified Lorentz scalar interactions, is re-emphasized. The signature of
the "quasi-parity" on the Dirac particles' spectra is also studied. A Dirac
particle with PDM and complexified scalar interactions of the form S(z)=S(x-ib)
(an inversely linear plus linear, leading to a PT-symmetric oscillator model),
and S(x)=S_{r}(x)+iS_{i}(x) (a PT-symmetric Scarf II model) are considered.
Moreover, a first-order intertwining differential operator and an
-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity generator are presented and a complexified
PT-symmetric periodic-type model is used as an illustrative example.Comment: 11 pages, no figures, revise
PT-symmetric Solutions of Schrodinger Equation with position-dependent mass via Point Canonical Transformation
PT-symmetric solutions of Schrodinger equation are obtained for the Scarf and
generalized harmonic oscillator potentials with the position-dependent mass. A
general point canonical transformation is applied by using a free parameter.
Three different forms of mass distributions are used. A set of the energy
eigenvalues of the bound states and corresponding wave functions for target
potentials are obtained as a function of the free parameter.Comment: 13 page
Primary proton spectrum between 200 TeV and 1000 TeV observed with the Tibet burst detector and air shower array
Since 1996, a hybrid experiment consisting of the emulsion chamber and burst
detector array and the Tibet-II air-shower array has been operated at
Yangbajing (4300 m above sea level, 606 g/cm^2) in Tibet. This experiment can
detect air-shower cores, called as burst events, accompanied by air showers in
excess of about 100 TeV. We observed about 4300 burst events accompanied by air
showers during 690 days of operation and selected 820 proton-induced events
with its primary energy above 200 TeV using a neural network method. Using this
data set, we obtained the energy spectrum of primary protons in the energy
range from 200 to 1000 TeV. The differential energy spectrum obtained in this
energy region can be fitted by a power law with the index of -2.97 0.06,
which is steeper than that obtained by direct measurements at lower energies.
We also obtained the energy spectrum of helium nuclei at particle energies
around 1000 TeV.Comment: 25 pages, 22 figures, Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev.
Direct Measurements of the Branching Fractions for and and Determinations of the Form Factors and
The absolute branching fractions for the decays and
are determined using singly
tagged sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the
BES-II detector at the BEPC. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged
meson, events for and events for decays are observed. Those yield
the absolute branching fractions to be and . The
vector form factors are determined to be
and . The ratio of the two form
factors is measured to be .Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Progress on the Design of the Coupling coils for MICE andMUCOOL
The Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE) [1]willdemonstrate ionization cooling in a short section of a realistic coolingchannel using a muon beam at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in theUK. The MICE RF and Coupling Coil (RFCC) Module consists of asuperconducting solenoid mounted around four normal conducting 201.25-MHzRF cavities. The coil package that surrounds the RF cavities is to bemounted in a 1.4 m diameter vacuum vessel. The coupling coil confines thebeam in the RFCC module within the radius of the RF cavity beam windows. Each coupling magnet will be powered by a 300 A, 10 V power supply. Themaximum design longitudinal force that will be carried by the cold masssupport system is 0.5 MN. The detailed design and analysis of thecoupling magnet has been completed by ICST. The primary magnetic andmechanical design features of the coils are presented in thispaper
The pole in
Using a sample of 58 million events recorded in the BESII detector,
the decay is studied. There are conspicuous
and signals. At low mass, a large
broad peak due to the is observed, and its pole position is determined
to be - MeV from the mean of six analyses.
The errors are dominated by the systematic errors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PL
Search for the Lepton Flavor Violation Processes and
The lepton flavor violation processes and are
searched for using a sample of 5.8 events collected with
the BESII detector. Zero and one candidate events, consistent with the
estimated background, are observed in and
decays, respectively. Upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be
and at the 90% confidence level (C.L.).Comment: 9 pages, 2 figure
Observation of the decay \psip\rar\kstark
Using 14 million events collected with the BESII detector,
branching fractions of \psip\rar\kstarkpm and \kstarknn are determined to
be: \calB(\psip\rar\kstarkpm)=(2.9^{+1.3}_{-1.7}\pm0.4)\times 10^{-5} and
\calB(\psip\rar\kstarknn)=(13.3^{+2.4}_{-2.7}\pm1.9)\times 10^{-5}. The
results confirm the violation of the "12%" rule for these two decay channels
with higher precision. A large isospin violation between the charged and
neutral modes is observed.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
