B_c meson rare decays in the light-cone quark model
We investigate the rare decays
and in the framework of the
light-cone quark model (LCQM). The transition form factors are calculated in
the space-like region and then analytically continued to the time-like region
via exponential parametrization. The branching ratios and longitudinal lepton
polarization asymmetries (LPAs) for the two decays are given and compared with
each other. The results are helpful to investigating the structure of
meson and to testing the unitarity of CKM quark mixing matrix. All these
results can be tested in the future experiments at the LHC.Comment: 9 pages, 11 figures, version accepted for publication in EPJ
Positivity constraints for lepton polarization in neutrino deep inelastic scattering
We consider the spin polarization of leptons produced in neutrino and
antineutrino nucleon deep inelastic scattering, via charged currents, and we
study the positivity constraints on the spin components in a model independent
way. These results are very important, in particular in the case of
leptons, because the polarization information is crucial in all
future neutrino oscillation experiments.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figure
Generalized parton distributions and double distributions for q q-bar pions
We consider two simple covariant models for pions (one with scalar and the
other with spin-1/2 constituents). Pion generalized parton distributions are
derived by integration over the light-cone energy. The model distributions are
consistent with all known properties of generalized parton distributions,
including positivity. We also construct the corresponding double distributions
by appealing to Lorentz invariance. These ostensibly constructed double
distributions lead to different generalized parton distributions that need not
respect the positivity constraints. This inconsistency arises from the
ambiguity inherent in defining double distributions in a one-component
formalism (even in the absence of the Polyakov-Weiss term). We demonstrate that
the correct model double distributions can be calculated from non-diagonal
matrix elements of twist-two operators.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures, RevTex4, reference added, typos correcte
A framework for bounding nonlocality of state discrimination
We consider the class of protocols that can be implemented by local quantum
operations and classical communication (LOCC) between two parties. In
particular, we focus on the task of discriminating a known set of quantum
states by LOCC. Building on the work in the paper "Quantum nonlocality without
entanglement" [BDF+99], we provide a framework for bounding the amount of
nonlocality in a given set of bipartite quantum states in terms of a lower
bound on the probability of error in any LOCC discrimination protocol. We apply
our framework to an orthonormal product basis known as the domino states and
obtain an alternative and simplified proof that quantifies its nonlocality. We
generalize this result for similar bases in larger dimensions, as well as the
"rotated" domino states, resolving a long-standing open question [BDF+99].Comment: 33 pages, 7 figures, 1 tabl
The controlled teleportation of an arbitrary two-atom entangled state in driven cavity QED
In this paper, we propose a scheme for the controlled teleportation of an
arbitrary two-atom entangled state
in driven cavity QED.
An arbitrary two-atom entangled state can be teleported perfectly with the help
of the cooperation of the third side by constructing a three-atom GHZ entangled
state as the controlled channel. This scheme does not involve apparent (or
direct) Bell-state measurement and is insensitive to the cavity decay and the
thermal field. The probability of the success in our scheme is 1.0.Comment: 10 page

Molecular cytogenetic identification of a wheat-Thinopyrum ponticum substitution line with stripe rust resistance
Thinopyrum ponticum (2n = 10x = 70) has donated rust resistance genes to protect wheat from this fungal disease. In the present study, the line ES-7, derived from the progeny of the crosses between common wheat cultivar Abbondanza and Triticum aestivum–Th. ponticum partial amphiploid line Xiaoyan784, was characterized by cytological, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) and EST-STS marker techniques. Cytological observations revealed that the configuration of ES-7 was 2n = 42 = 21 II. GISH and FISH results showed that ES-7 had two St chromosomes and lacked 5A chromosomes compared to common wheat. The 4A chromosome of ES-7 had small alterations from common wheat. Two EST-SSR markers BE482522 and BG262826, specific to Th. ponticum and tetraploid Pseudoroegneria spicata (2n = 4x = 28), locate on the homoeologous group 5 chromosomes of wheat, could amplify polymorphic bands in ES-7. It was suggested that the introduced St chromosomes belonged to homoeologous group 5, that is, ES-7 was a 5St (5A) disomic substitution line. Furthermore, ES-7 showed highly resistance to mixed stripe rust races of CYR32 and CYR33 in adult stages, which was possibly inherited from Th. ponticum. Thus, ES-7 can be used for wheat stripe rust resistance breeding program
Rare Decays of \Lambda_b->\Lambda + \gamma and \Lambda_b ->\Lambda + l^{+} l^{-} in the Light-cone Sum Rules
Within the Standard Model, we investigate the weak decays of and with the light-cone
sum rules approach. The higher twist distribution amplitudes of
baryon to the leading conformal spin are included in the sum rules for
transition form factors. Our results indicate that the higher twist
distribution amplitudes almost have no influences on the transition form
factors retaining the heavy quark spin symmetry, while such corrections can
result in significant impacts on the form factors breaking the heavy quark spin
symmetry. Two phenomenological models (COZ and FZOZ) for the wave function of
baryon are also employed in the sum rules for a comparison, which can
give rise to the form factors approximately 5 times larger than that in terms
of conformal expansion. Utilizing the form factors calculated in LCSR, we then
perform a careful study on the decay rate, polarization asymmetry and
forward-backward asymmetry, with respect to the decays of , .Comment: 38 pages, 15 figures, some typos are corrected and more references

Goos-H\"{a}nchen-like shifts for Dirac fermions in monolayer graphene barrier
We investigate the Goos-H\"{a}nchen-like shifts for Dirac fermions in
transmission through a monolayer graphene barrier. The lateral shifts, as the
functions of the barrier's width and the incidence angle, can be negative and
positive in Klein tunneling and classical motion, respectively. Due to their
relations to the transmission gap, the lateral shifts can be enhanced by the
transmission resonances when the incidence angle is less than the critical
angle for total reflection, while their magnitudes become only the order of
Fermi wavelength when the incidence angle is larger than the critical angle.
These tunable beam shifts can also be modulated by the height of potential
barrier and the induced gap, which gives rise to the applications in
graphene-based devices.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Restoration of factorization for low hadron hadroproduction
We discuss the applicability of the factorization theorem to low-
hadron production in hadron-hadron collision in a simple toy model, which
involves only scalar particles and gluons. It has been shown that the
factorization for high- hadron hadroproduction is broken by soft gluons in
the Glauber region, which are exchanged among a transverse-momentum-dependent
(TMD) parton density and other subprocesses of the collision. We explain that
the contour of a loop momentum can be deformed away from the Glauber region at
low , so the above residual infrared divergence is factorized by means of
the standard eikonal approximation. The factorization is then restored in
the sense that a TMD parton density maintains its universality. Because the
resultant Glauber factor is independent of hadron flavors, experimental
constraints on its behavior are possible. The factorization can also be
restored for the transverse single-spin asymmetry in hadron-hadron collision at
low in a similar way, with the residual infrared divergence being
factorized into the same Glauber factor.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figures, version to appear in EPJ
