Measurement of the 214Bi spectrum in the energy region around the Q-value of 76Ge neutrinoless double-beta decay
In this work we present the results obtained measuring the 214Bi spectrum
from a 226Ra source with a high purity germanium detector. Our attention was
mostly focused on the energy region around the Q-value of 76Ge neutrinoless
double-beta decay (2039.006 keV). The results of this measurement are strongly
related to the first indication for the neutrinoless double beta decay of 76Ge,
given by a recent analysis \cite{Evidence,KK02-PN,KK02-Found,KK-BigArt02} of
the data collected during ten years of measurements from the HEIDELBERG-MOSCOW

An Investigation on Cooling of CZT Co-Planar Grid Detectors
The effect of moderate cooling on CdZnTe semiconductor detectors has been
studied for the COBRA experiment. Improvements in energy resolution and low
energy threshold were observed and quantified as a function of temperature.
Leakage currents are found to contribute typically 5 keV to the widths of

85Kr and 39Ar background in GENIUS
GENIUS is a proposal for a large scale detector of rare events like double
beta decay, cold dark matter and low-energy solar neutrinos in real time. The
idea of GENIUS is to operate a large amount of ``naked'' Ge detectors in liquid
nitrogen, with the aim of reducing the background down to a level of 10^(-3)
counts/kg keV y. In this work we investigate the contribution to the background
of GENIUS coming from argon (39Ar) and krypton (85Kr) contamination in the

Dynamical symmetry of isobaric analog 0+ states in medium mass nuclei
An algebraic sp(4) shell model is introduced to achieve a deeper
understanding and interpretation of the properties of pairing-governed 0+
states in medium mass atomic nuclei. The theory, which embodies the simplicity
of a dynamical symmetry approach to nuclear structure, is shown to reproduce
the excitation spectra and fine structure effects driven by proton-neutron
interactions and isovector pairing correlations across a broad range of nuclei.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figure
Underlying symmetries of realistic interactions and the nuclear many-body problem
The present study brings forward important information, within the framework
of spectral distribution theory, about the types of forces that dominate three
realistic interactions, CD-Bonn, CDBonn+ 3terms and GXPF1, in nuclei and their
ability to account for many-particle effects such as the formation of
correlated nucleon pairs and enhanced quadrupole collective modes.
Like-particle and proton-neutron isovector pairing correlations are described
microscopically by a model interaction with Sp(4) dynamical symmetry, which is
extended to include an additional quadrupole-quadrupole interaction. The
analysis of the results for the 1f7/2 level shows that both CD-Bonn+3terms and
GXPF1 exhibit a well-developed pairing character compared to CD-Bonn, while the
latter appears to build up more (less) rotational isovector T = 1 (isoscalar T
= 0) collective features. Furthermore, the three realistic interactions are in
general found to correlate strongly with the pairing+quadrupole model
interaction, especially for the highest possible isospin group of states where
the model interaction can be used to provide a reasonable description of the
corresponding energy spectra.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
Enhanced Retention In The Passive-Avoidance Task By 5-HT1A Receptor Blockade Is Not Associated With Increased Activity Of The Central Nucleus Of The Amygdala
The effect of blockade of S-HT1A receptors was investigated on (1) retention in a mildly aversive passive-avoidance task, and (2) spontaneous single-unit activity of central nucleus of the amygdala (CeA) neurons, a brain site implicated in modulation of retention. Systemic administration of the selective S-HT1A antagonist NAN-190 immediately after training markedly-and dose-dependently-facilitated retention in the passive-avoidance task; enhanced retention was time-dependent and was not attributable to variations in wattages of shock received by animals. Systemic administration of NAN-190 had mixed effects on spontaneous single-unit activity of CeA neurons recorded extracellularly in vivo; microiontophoretic application of S-HT, in contrast, consistently and potently suppressed CeA activity. The present findings-that S-HT1A receptor blockade by NAN-190 (1) enhances retention in the passive-avoidance task, and (2) does not consistently increase spontaneous neuronal activity of the CeA-provide evidence that a serotonergic system tonically inhibits modulation of retention in the passive-avoidance task through activation of the S-HT1A receptor subtype at brain sites located outside the CeA
Experimental evidence of a natural parity state in Mg and its impact to the production of neutrons for the s process
We have studied natural parity states in Mg via the
Ne(Li,d)Mg reaction. Our method significantly improves the
energy resolution of previous experiments and, as a result, we report the
observation of a natural parity state in Mg. Possible spin-parity
assignments are suggested on the basis of published -ray decay
experiments. The stellar rate of the Ne(,)Mg
reaction is reduced and may give rise to an increase in the production of
s-process neutrons via the Ne(,n)Mg reaction.Comment: Published in PR
JEWISH SUFISM IN MEDIEVAL ISLAM
Artikel ini adalah riset kepustakaan dan merupakan indikasi awal pengantar pada suatu interaksi unik yang terjadi antara kelompok Yahudi terhadap Sufisme dalam kurun abad pertengahan di masa pemerintahan Islam. Di tengah gejolak relasi Yahudi dan Muslim yang didominasi narasi-narasi antagonis, dalam sejarah sebenamya terjadi dinamika interaksi yang melampaui narasi konflik. Salah satunya adalah Mistisisme Yahudi yang mengadopsi Sufisme dalam pencapaian ideal-ideal spiritualnya pada abad pertengahan. Secara tentatif fenomena ini bisa disebut dengan "Sufisme Yahudi."

This article is a literary research and preliminary examination to a unique interaction between Jews and Sufism that taken place in medieval Islamic ruling. In the face of the present antagonistic posture of Jews and Muslims relationship that dominates the public sphere, in history, there are some examples of interaction of the two people beyond conflictual narrative. One of them is Jewish mysticism that adopted Sufism into their spiritual ideal, which took place in the medieval era. We might call the phenomenon tentatively as "Jewish Sufism."

Solar Neutrinos from CNO Electron Capture
The neutrino flux from the sun is predicted to have a CNO-cycle contribution
as well as the known pp-chain component. Previously, only the fluxes from beta+
decays of 13N, 15O, and 17F have been calculated in detail. Another neutrino
component that has not been widely considered is electron capture on these
nuclei. We calculate the number of interactions in several solar neutrino
detectors due to neutrinos from electron capture on 13N, 15O, and 17F, within
the context of the Standard Solar Model. We also discuss possible non-standard
models where the CNO flux is increased.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, submitted to Phys. Rev. C; v2 has minor changes

Internal conversion coefficients for superheavy elements
The internal conversion coefficients (ICC) were calculated for all atomic
subshells of the elements with 104<=Z<=126, the E1...E4, M1...M4
multipolarities and the transition energies between 10 and 1000 keV. The atomic
screening was treated in the relativistic Hartree-Fock-Slater model. The Tables
comprising almost 90000 subshell and total ICC were recently deposited at LANL
