    IoT in healthcare: A scientometric analysis

    This paper reviews scientific articles and patents about Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare. The aim is to explore both the domain of research and the one of practice simultaneously. We compare the annual growth, the country production, and the trend topics of publications and patents, by focusing on the most relevant themes concerning the IoT in the healthcare industry. The analysis started with the selection of the publications and patents for the period 2015–2020. Since this comparative analysis between scientometric data in healthcare is new, the findings of this study can represent the basis for future studies to determine novel research opportunities on IoT. The study provides scholars with a better understanding of IoT research in healthcare and simultaneously extends knowledge of entrepreneurship in this field. Practitioners may benefit from this review to understand new and underexplored opportunities

    Influence of anodizing process on fatigue life of a machined aluminium alloy

    In order to investigate the coupled effects of machining and anodizing processes on fatigue life of alloy 7010-T7451, a series of rotating bending fatigue tests were conducted at 60Hz. In the as machined condition, test results showed that fatigue life is surface roughness dependent and that fatigue life decreases with an increase in surface roughness and this effect is found to be more pronounced in high cycle fatigue where major portion of fatigue life is consumed in nucleating the cracks. Effects of pretreatments, like degreasing and pickling employed prior to anodizing, on fatigue life of the given alloy were also studied. Results demonstrated that degreasing showed no change in fatigue life while pickling had negative impact on fatigue life of specimens. The small decrease in fatigue life of anodized specimens as compare to pickled specimens is attributed to brittle and microcracking of the coating. Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) examination revealed multi-site crack initiation for the pickled and anodized specimens. SEM examination showed that pickling solution attacked the grain boundaries and intermetallic inclusions present on the surface resulting in pits formation. These pits are of primary concern with respect to accelerated fatigue crack nucleation and subsequent anodized coating formation

    Hotel merupakan suatu tempat umum yang menyediakan kamar untuk disewakan per harinya dengan ruangan tambahan seperti restoran, fasilitas olahraga, ruang rapat sebagai fasilitas penunjang. Semakin berkembangnya jaman, perkembangan pariwisata tidak hanya di kota-kota besar seperti Jakarta dan Surabaya namun juga di kota-kota kecil. Kota Kediri merupakan salah satu kota dengan pilihan pariwisata mulai dari wisata sejarah hingga wisata religi. Salah satu wisata yang terkenal di Kota Kediri adalah Kawasan Wisata Goa Selomangkleng. Saat ini kegiatan berwisata tidak hanya menjadi hiburan semata melainkan telah menjadi bagian dari kebutuhan bagi masyarakat di Indonesia. Hal ini terbukti dari meningkatnya jumlah wisatawan domestik pada tahun 2014 mencapai 251 juta orang (berdasarkan data dari Kementerian Pariwisata), dimana angka tersebut mengatakan bahwa jumlah masyarakat Indonesia yang melakukan kegiatan wisata jumlahnya hampir mendekati jumlah penduduk Indonesia. Namun dengan adanya peningkatan tersebut, tidak banyak hotel yang menyediakan fasilitas ataupun dekorasi yang variatif dan menarik bagi pengunjung khususnya untuk pengunjung keluarga. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan untuk proses desain hotel ini meliputi pengumpulan data baik secara langsung ke lapangan maupun tidak langsung. Pengumpulan data mengenai Insumo Palace Hotel and Resort dilakukan dengan metode observasi lapangan guna mengetahui keadaan terkini desain hotel dan obervasi tidak langsung untuk mengumpulkan data-data tentang hotel melalui website hotel. Wawancara dengan beberapa narasumber yang pernah menginap di hotel tersebut untuk mengetahui bagaimana kesan dan Kenyamanan pengunjung terhadap desain dan fasilitas hotel. Sedangkan studi pustaka tentang standar hotel bintang tiga dan tema modern dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan beberapa informasi baik dari literatur buku, jurnal hingga blog internet. Pengumpulan data digunakan untuk mengetahui standar desain yang digunakan, pembanding dan referensi yang diperlukan berkaitan dengan objek desain. Sehingga dari hasil proses desain didapatkan bahwa tema modern yang menampilkan kesan kekinian pada ruangan merupakan tema yang cocok untuk desain ruangan dengan pengunjung keluarga dan dengan sentuhan aplikasi motif batik brantas mulya khas kediri akan memberikan nuansa berbeda sekaligus memberikan identitas Kota Kediri di dalam ruangan

    A fatigue multi-site cracks model using coalescence, short and long crack growth laws, for anodized aluminum alloys

    It has been shown that decrease of the fatigue life of aluminium alloys treated with anodization can be explained by the degradation of surface condition due to pickling. In order to predict fatigue life of anodized aluminium alloys, a multi-site crack growth model is developed by considering the pickling pits sites as initial flaws from which fatigue cracks develop. A map of the pickled surface is built from topography measurement with a contact profilometer. Then the pits are detected and their sizes are defined (depth, length and width). At the beginning of the calculation, a short crack growth law is used for crack having depths less than grain size. Then Paris long crack growth law is used. The coalescence of cracks is considered when their lengths increased by its crack tip plastic zone are large enough to interact with other neighbouring short cracks. The fatigue life is calculated for Kmax achieving 70 % KIC

    Microwave magnetoelectric coupling and ferromagnetic resonance frequency tuning of a Co 2MnSb/GaAs/PZN-PT heterostructure

    A systematic study of electric-field-tuned ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) of a ferroelectric/ferromagnetic/semiconductor multiferroic heterostructure, consisting of a Co2MnSb epitaxial film grown on a GaAs substrate bonded to a lead zinc niobate-lead titanate crystal, is reported. The films, grown by pulsed laser deposition, were studied for their crystallographic structure, magnetocrystalline anisotropy, and magnetostrictive and ferromagnetic resonance properties. Ferromagnetic resonance measurements were carried out at X-band frequency under the application of electric fields with external magnetic fields applied along the [110], [100], [11̄0], and [001] directions of the Heusler film. Magnetic anisotropy fields were derived from the angular dependence of FMR measurements, yielding an in-plane fourth-order anisotropy constant K1=-150×103 erg/cm3 and a perpendicular second-order anisotropy constant K=12×103 erg/cm3. A theoretical model, which includes the effects of electric-field tuning, is presented to calculate the tunability of the ferromagnetic resonance frequency of the multiferroic heterostructure. The multiferroic heterostructure exhibits a frequency tuning of 450 MHz under the application of an electric field of 10 kV cm-1, corresponding to a magnetoelectric coupling coefficient of 8.8 Oe cm kV-1. This work explores the potential of electronically controlled multiferroic devices for use in microwave integrated circuits, while concomitantly establishing the basic theoretical foundation allowing for the calculation of microwave tunability for this and other heterostructures. © 2011 American Physical Society

    Delimiting Cryptic Morphological Variation among Human Malaria Vector Species using Convolutional Neural Networks

    Deep learning is a powerful approach for distinguishing classes of images, and there is a growing interest in applying these methods to delimit species, particularly in the identification of mosquito vectors. Visual identification of mosquito species is the foundation of mosquito-borne disease surveillance and management, but can be hindered by cryptic morphological variation in mosquito vector species complexes such as the malaria-transmitting Anopheles gambiaecomplex. We sought to apply Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to images of mosquitoes as a proof-of-concept to determine the feasibility of automatic classification of mosquito sex, genus, species, and strains using whole-body, 2D images of mosquitoes. We introduce a library of 1, 709 images of adult mosquitoes collected from 16 colonies of mosquito vector species and strains originating from five geographic regions, with 4 cryptic species not readily distinguishable morphologically even by trained medical entomologists. We present a methodology for image processing, data augmentation, and training and validation of a CNN. Our best CNN configuration achieved high prediction accuracies of 96.96% for species identification and 98.48% for sex. Our results demonstrate that CNNs can delimit species with cryptic morphological variation, 2 strains of a single species, and specimens from a single colony stored using two different methods. We present visualizations of the CNN feature space and predictions for interpretation of our results, and we further discuss applications of our findings for future applications in malaria mosquito surveillance
