    Isogeometric Analysis of Euler-Bernoulli Beam Element

    Abstract: The Isogeometric analysis is a computational geometry based on a series of polynomial functions (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline, NURBS) which are assembled to represent the exact geometry. In the Isogeometric analysis, the curvature geometry of the beam element can be represented exactly. The conventional beam element can be developed by using the Isogeometric approach which is based on Euler-Bernoulli principle which is under the assumption that the dimension of the beam cross section is small compared with the length of the beam. The geometric shape of the beam and the shape functions formulation of the element can be formulated by using the Isogeometric approach. This paper highlights the application of the NURBS for the Euler-Bernoulli beam element in the context of finite element analysis. Examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the Isogeometric approach in static and free vibration problems

    Vibration of Tensegrity Stucture by using SEM

    A tensegrity structure is a structure which consists both of compressive and tensile elements without being restrained at the boundaries. The self-equilibrium state inside the tensegrity structure is the condition that builds the structure without any boundary condition necessity. The conventional Eigensystem solver cannot deal with this kind of structure since there are rigid body motions in the governing equations. The exact dynamic solution of tensegrity structure problems can only be obtained by using the frequency-dependent dynamic method. In this study, the free vibrational characteristics of a tensegrity structure which is modeled by a combination of the compressive strut and tensile cables elements are solved by using the Spectral Element Method (SEM). Natural frequencies of the tensegrity are tracked by using the Wittrick-Williams algorithm. Numerical calculations are given to show the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of the SEM in solving the axially vibrating members of the tensegrity structures

    Kasus infeksi SARS-COV-2 telah menjadi Pandemik dan telah merenggut 1 juta nyawa di seluruh dunia. Selama periode epidemi diperkirakan banyak terjadi perubahan terhadap kesehatan mental dan emosi negative terutama pada kelompok populasi yang terisolasi. Salah satu bentuk gangguan tersebut adalah perubahan pola tidur (ritme sirkadian). Penelitian potong lintang (survei) yang dilaksanakan di secara online melalui google form pada Mei 2020. Kriteria inklusi meliputi semua responden usia produktif, Variabel bebas pada penelitian ini adalah kondisi pandemic yang mendorong masyarakat WFH dan PHK sedangkan variabel tergantung pada penelitian ini adalah kejadian insomnia yang diukur dengan kuesioner ISI (Insomnia Severity Index). 281 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Didapatkan prevalensi insomnia berupa Klinis Insomnia (Parah) pada 3 (1,1%), Clinical Insomnia (Sedang) pada 28 (10,0%), Batasan Susah Tidur (Ringan) pada 79 (28,1%), serta Tidak ada insomnia yang signifikan pada171 (60,9%) responden. Analisa statistik Pearson Chi Square didapatkan tidak adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara PHK, WFH, rasa takut dan pendapatan terhadap kejadian insomnia (p-value > 0,05) Kejadian insomnia di masa PSBB akibat Pandemik COVID-19 cukup tinggi mencapai 110 (39,1%) responden disertai tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara PHK, WFH, rasa takut, dan pendapatan terhadap kejadian insomni

    1) Background: Interactions between workers and computers create a variety of risks, one of which is complaints of eye fatigue. Lighting intensity is considered a risk factor that can cause complaints of eye fatigue as well. The preliminary study suggests that several workers experienced discomfort in the eye area, neck and back pain, and mild eye irritation. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the duration of computer use and lighting intensity with complaints of eye fatigue. 2) Method: This research is analytical quantitative with a cross-sectional design. In this study, the researcher used a total sampling technique. A total of 43 operators were recruited as samples. The instruments used were questionnaires and a lux meter. A chi-square test was used to analyze the data at 95% confidence level. 3) Result and Conclusion: The results show that the duration of computer use variable was significantly assotciated with complaints of eye fatigue (p 0.004 < α), while lighting intensity variable was not associated with complaints of eye fatigue (p 0.275 > α). 4) Suggestion: Managing the duration of computer use by resting according to the 20-20-20 rule is recommended. The hotel should add, replace, or suistain all existing lights and provide information and education to all operators as well

    Design Philosophy for Buildings’ Comfort-Level Performance

    The data reported by Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) show that the fatal casualties and severe injuries are due to heavy shaking during massive earthquakes. Current earthquake-resistant building standards do not include comfort-level performance. Hence, a new performance design philosophy is proposed in this research to evaluate the quantitative effect of earthquake-induced shaking in a building. The earthquake-induced response accelerations in a building are analysed, and the response accelerations related with the characteristic property of the building are used to evaluate the number of Seismic Intensity Level (SIL). To show the indispensability of the newly proposed comfort-level design philosophy, numerical simulations are conducted to evaluate the comfort level on different floors in a building. The results show that the evaluation of residents’ comfort levels should be considered in the current earthquake-resistant building design codes

    Hubungan Pengetahuan dengan Sikap Tenaga Kesehatan dalam Tanggap Darurat Bencana Banjir di Puskesmas Bidara Cina Jakarta Timur

    Abstrak. Tanggap darurat adalah suatu tindakan yang dilakukan dengan secepat mungkin pada saat bencana terjadi untuk mencegah potensi buruk terhadap masyarakat. Dalam tanggap darurat bencana ini, dibutuhkan tenaga kesehatan yang memiliki pengetahuan dan pengalaman pelatihan terkait tanggap darurat bencana banjir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan dengan sikap tenaga kesehatan dalam tanggap darurat bencana banjir di Puskesmas Bidara Cina. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengetahui peran Puskesmas Bidara Cina 1, 2 dan 3. Sebanyak 32 tenaga kesehatan dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner oleh responden dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan dengan dengan sikap tenaga kesehatan dalam tanggap darurat bencana banjir (p=0,029). Bagi penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan untuk menambahkan simulasi tanggap darurat bencana banjir sebagai variabel tindakan tanggap darurat bencana. Abstact.Emergency Response is an immediate action conducted when a disaster occurs to prevent any potential adverse impact on people. In emergency response, community health workers who have sufficient knowledge and training experience in flood disaster emergency response are required. The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between knowledge and attitude of community health workers about flood disaster emergency response at Bidara Cina Primary Health Cares (PHC). The design of this research was a cross-sectional design with quantitative and qualitative approaches to know the role of Bidara Cina 1, 2 and 3 Primary Health Cares in flood disaster emergency response. A total of 32 community health workers were recruited in this research by using total sampling technic. Data collection was conducted by questionnaires filling and interviews. The result shows that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and attitude of community health workers about flood disaster emergency response (p=0,029). Further studies which use a flood disaster emergency response simulation as an additional variable are recommended
