Solving the SUSY CP problem with flavor breaking F-terms
Supersymmetric flavor models for the radiative generation of fermion masses
offer an alternative way to solve the SUSY-CP problem. We assume that the
supersymmetric theory is flavor and CP conserving. CP violating phases are
associated to the vacuum expectation values of flavor violating susy-breaking
fields. As a consequence, phases appear at tree level only in the soft
supersymmetry breaking matrices. Using a U(2) flavor model as an example we
show that it is possible to generate radiatively the first and second
generation of quark masses and mixings as well as the CKM CP phase. The
one-loop supersymmetric contributions to EDMs are automatically zero since all
the relevant parameters in the lagrangian are flavor conserving and as a
consequence real. The size of the flavor and CP mixing in the susy breaking
sector is mostly determined by the fermion mass ratios and CKM elements. We
calculate the contributions to epsilon, epsilon^{prime} and to the CP
asymmetries in the B decays to psi Ks, phi Ks, eta^{\prime} Ks and Xs gamma. We
analyze a case study with maximal predictivity in the fermion sector. For this
worst case scenario the measurements of Delta mK, Delta mB and epsilon
constrain the model requiring extremely heavy squark spectra.Comment: 21 pages, RevTex
Prospects for Direct CP Violaton in Exclusive and Inclusive Charmless B decays
Within the Standard Model, CP rate asymmetries for could
reach 10%. With strong final state phases, they could go up to 20--30%, even
for mode which would have opposite sign. We can account for
, and rate data with new physics enhanced
color dipole coupling and destructive interference. Asymmetries could reach
40--60% for and modes and are all of the same sign. We are
unable to account for rate. Our inclusive study supports our

A study of semi-inclusive charmless decays
We study semi-inclusive charmless decays in detail, such as
, , , where does not contain a charm (anti)quark. We find that
the process () can be particularly
useful for determination of the CKM matrix element . We calculate and
present the branching ratio (BR) of as a function of
, with an estimate of possible uncertainties. It is expected that the
BR is an order of . Our estimation indicates that one can
phenomenologically determine with reasonable accuracy by measuring

Model-independent analysis of \bbox{B}-\bbox{\bar B} mixing and \bbox{CP} violation in \bbox{B} decays
We present a framework to analyze effects of new physics beyond the standard
model on - mixing and violation in decays in a
model-independent manner. Assuming that tree level decay amplitudes are
dominated by the standard model ones, new physics contribution to the - mixing can be extracted from several measurements at factories. Using
this framework, we show the present constraint on new physics contribution to
the - mixing, and illustrate constraints expected to be given by
future experiments at factories. We also point out a possibility that
asymmetries in , , and modes look consistent with the standard model, even if a large new physics

Inclusive production in B decays and the Enhancement due to charged technipions

A relativistic chiral quark model for pseudoscalar emission from heavy mesons
The amplitudes for one-pion mediated transitions between heavy meson excited
states are obtained in the framework of the relativistic chiral quark model.
The effective coupling constants to pions and the decay widths of excited heavy
mesons with l<=2 for non-radially excited, and the l=0 radially excited mesons
are presented for both charmed and beauty mesons. We also discuss the allowed

Watery Webs of Interconnectedness: Waterways as Pedagogical Sites
Despite the ever-growing body of knowledge about human impacts on river and coastal ecosystems, and the need to work towards sustainable futures, young children's participation in environmental action initiatives in aquatic habitats remains low. This signifies an urgency for educators to support young children's relationship with freshwater and marine environments so they can acquire the skills and dispositions to become 'agents for change' for the environment. Guided by Deleuzian ideas of being and becoming, and ecologies of knowledges, this paper considers three exploratory case studies from England, the United States and Australia that investigated early childhood teachers' practices of using waterways as pedagogical sites. Data were collected through ethnographic methods of observations and interviews. Findings revealed that early childhood teachers viewed such habitats as spaces where action initiatives for sustainability can be conceived and incorporated as "webs of interconnectedness" into the curriculum. We conclude this study has the potential to expand understandings of under-utilized pedagogical spaces, such as natural water and marine habitats, where adults and children have permission to learn together to cultivate a more intimate relationship with the earth
New generalized fuzzy metrics and fixed point theorem in fuzzy metric space
In this paper, in fuzzy metric spaces (in the sense of Kramosil and Michalek (Kibernetika 11:336-344, 1957)) we introduce the concept of a generalized fuzzy metric which is the extension of a fuzzy metric. First, inspired by the ideas of Grabiec (Fuzzy Sets Syst. 125:385-389, 1989), we define a new G-contraction of Banach type with respect to this generalized fuzzy metric, which is a generalization of the contraction of Banach type (introduced by M Grabiec). Next, inspired by the ideas of Gregori and Sapena (Fuzzy Sets Syst. 125:245-252, 2002), we define a new GV-contraction of Banach type with respect to this generalized fuzzy metric, which is a generalization of the contraction of Banach type (introduced by V Gregori and A Sapena). Moreover, we provide the condition guaranteeing the existence of a fixed point for these single-valued contractions. Next, we show that the generalized pseudodistance J:X×X→[0,∞) (introduced by Włodarczyk and Plebaniak (Appl. Math. Lett. 24:325-328, 2011)) may generate some generalized fuzzy metric NJ on X. A Phenomenological Analysis of Non-resonant Charm Meson Decays
We analyse the consequences of the usual assumption of a constant function to
fit non-resonant decays from experimental Dalitz plot describing charmed meson
decays. We first show, using the decay channel as
an example, how an inadequate extraction of the non-resonant contribution could
yield incorrect measurements for the resonant channels. We analyse how the
correct study of this decay will provide a test for the validity of
factorization in D meson decays. Finally, we show how form factors could be
extracted from non-resonant decays. We particularly discuss about the form
factor that can be measured from the decay. We

Analysis of Charge Asymmetry in Rare Dilepton Decays
We analyze forward-backward charge asymmetry of the lepton production in rare
decays and , including
vector-resonance effects. Certain regions of phase space, in which the
asymmetry is sensitive to individual short-distance coefficients, are pointed
out. In particular, we suggest a method to test the coupling of the leptonic
